During your many adventures in Octopath Traveler 2, you may have come across ‘??? Island‘ in the East Sundering Sea. The game gives you very little information on the purpose of its island, with destroyed structures, a sealed door, and a single save point. While it may seem like there’s nothing of interest here, ??? Island actually holds a huge endgame secret.

What is on ??? Island in Octopath Traveler 2?

The-world-map-from-Octopath-Traveler-2

The ‘??? Island’ found in the East Sundering Sea in Octopath Traveler is part of unlocking a secret optional battle with a major Superboss in what is undoubtedly the most brutal fight in the series.

The Mysterious Superboss on ??? Island

Galdera-from-Octopath-Traveler-2-overlayed-over-his-introduction-in-the-game

The most challenging boss in Octopath Traveler 2 is the SuperboosGaldera‘, who awaits the player on ‘??? Island‘ after completing Al‘s questlines. This fight is somehow even more difficult than in the original Octopath Traveler, though thankfully, you don’t have to fight eight bosses beforehand.

How To Unlock the Fight Against Galdera

A-screenshot-from-the-official-Octopath-Traveler-2-steam-page
Square Enix

Step 1: The Traveler’s Bag

The first step is to complete the ‘The Traveler’s Bag‘ sidequest, available at the end of Chapter 1 regardless of the character chosen as the player character at the beginning of the game. Defeat the thief found at a campfire close to the starting location and return the bag to Al.

Step 2: Procuring Peculiar Tomes

You’ll also need to complete “Procuring Peculiar Tomes,” which can be obtained from the Library in Montwise and requires you to acquire three specific books.

Dispatches from Beastling Island can be stolen or bought from a merchant in Beastling Village.

Far Reaches of Hell is in a chest in the lone guarded house in Crackridge. Knock the guard out and nab the book.

The Curious Legend of the Great Wall is in Southern Stormhail Snows, held by the Archeologist near the mountain entrance.

Step 3: From the Far Reaches of Hell

After you’ve handed each tome in and completed both the Procuring Peculiar Tomes and The Traveler’s Bag quests, you can start From the Far Reaches of Hell.

Approach Al in the Library, who you’ll find struggling to translate your newly acquired novel. Seek out Georges Lazuli on the Nameless Isle found north of Toto’haha. Defeat the boss Gigantes and you’ll be able to acquire How to Decipher Unknown Languages from George.

Take the tome back to Al to complete this quest and unlock the sealed door on ??? Island.

Step 4: Travel to ??? Island

Travel to ‘???‘ in The Sundering Sea and you should notice that the large door is now open. Enter the door to find an injured Al and a long staircase. If you think you’re ready, ascend the stairs and receive the warning: “The sense of danger is overwhelming. Are you certain you wish to proceed?

Select ‘Yes,’ divide your party, and begin the battle against Galderathe true final boss of Octopath Traveler 2.

Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Dragon Locations: Farosh, Neydra, Dinraal, and Light Dragon Spawn Times and Routes https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/zelda-tears-of-the-kingdom-dragon-locations-farosh-neydra-dinraal-and-light-dragon-spawn-times-and-routes/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/zelda-tears-of-the-kingdom-dragon-locations-farosh-neydra-dinraal-and-light-dragon-spawn-times-and-routes/#respond Fri, 02 Feb 2024 04:26:59 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=923227 Like many of the best parts of Breath of the Wild, the dragons and their upgrade materials return in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, along with a fourth dragon to ride on. For those struggling to track down these majestic dragons, this guide details the spawn times and travel routes for every Dragon in ToTK.

All ToTK Dragons’ Spawn Time and Routes

Aside from the Light Dragon, all Dragons in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom follow a relatively short route during a specific in-game time. We found that adding each Dragon to the Hyrule Compendium made tracking them far easier, as you can use Sensor+ to follow them.

Farosh Spawn Time, Route, and Drops

  • Farosh-Route-Zelda-Tears-of-the-Kingdom
  • Farosh-Route-Depths-Zelda-Tears-of-the-Kingdom

Farosh, the dragon of lightning, can be found in the southeastern corner of Hyrule and is arguably the most difficult returning dragon to track in Tears of the Kingdom. While it’s easy to glide over to Farosh from the island near Gerudo Canyon Sky Tower, Farosh’s body is electric, and you will be shocked you are wielding a metal sword or shield.

On top of being shocked, Farosh will begin to fire clusters of electricity at you once you get too close. If you want to live long enough to collect Farosh’s materials, you should think about getting the Rubber armor set or down a few electricity-resistant potions.

What Time Does Farosh Spawn?

Zelda-Tears-of-the-Kingdom-Farosh
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Farosh emerges from the depths at East Gerudo Chasm between 12:00 and 1:00 PM. It travels north around Gerudo Canyon before making its way west into Faron, where it passes over the Great Plateau before descending back underground through the Chasm south of Hills of Baumer.

Farosh Materials and How to Get

  • Shard of Farrosh’s Horn — Collect from Farrosh’s horns.
  • Shard of Farosh’s Fang — Strike Farosh’s head/teeth
  • Farosh’s Scale — Strike Farrosh’s body
  • Farosh’s Claw — Strike Farrosh’s talons/feet

Naydra’s Spawn Time and Route

  • Naydra-Route-Zelda-Tears-of-the-Kingdom
  • Naydra-Route-Depths-Zelda-Tears-of-the-Kingdom

I’ve found Naydra to be the easiest of the three elemental dragons to collect materials from. Not only do you have an almost perfect vantage point on the dragon from Mount Lanaryu Skyview Tower, but chances are you’ve picked up the Snowquill armor set at Rito Village or have some cold-resistant dishes and elixirs

With these additional heat sources, staying warm on Naydra’s back shouldn’t be an issue, but be careful to avoid the chunks of ice the dragon will throw at you.

What Time Does Naydra Spawn?

Zelda-Tears-of-the-Kingdom-Naydra
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Naydra has claimed the southwestern regions of Hyrule as its territory. Like Farosh, Nadray will emerge onto the surface at about 1:00 PM from the Lanaru Snowfield Chasm. Once it’s in the air, Naydra will fly south over the Necluda Sea before looping around and soaring between East Necluda and Hateno Village. After passing by east of Kakariko Village, Naydra will descend back into the Depths at the East Hill Chasm.

Naydra Materials and How to Get

  • Shard of Naydra’s Horn — Collect from Naydra’s horns.
  • Shard of Naydra’s Fang — Strike Naydra’s head/teeth
  • Naydra’s Scale — Strike Naydra’s body
  • Naydra’s Claw — Strike Naydra’stalons/feet

Dinraal’s Spawn Time and Route

  • Dinraal-Route-Zelda-Tears-of-the-Kingdom
  • Dinraal-Route-Depths-Zelda-Tears-of-the-Kingdom

With a serpentine figure coated head-to-tail in flames and a nasty habit of throwing fireballs at anything that moves, Dinraal is easily the hardest of the three standard elemental dragons to collect materials from. Once you’ve cooked up some heat-resisting dishes or scavenged the Ember armor set, you can dive down onto its back from Sokkala Sky Archipelago and start harvesting.

What Time Does Dinraal Spawn?

Zelda-Tears-of-the-Kingdom-Dinraal
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Dinraal makes its home in the skies of Hyrule’s northwestern territories. Unlike its kin, Dinraal will rise out of the depths between 5:00 and 6:00 PM through East Akkala Plains Chasm.

Once fully aboveground, Dinraal will sail north through the skies over Deep Akkala before hanging west and traveling just north of Death Mountain. After passing by the Great Hyrule Forest, Dinraal will return to the Depths by diving into the Drenan Highlands Chasm.

Dinraal Materials and How to Get

  • Shard of Dinraal’s Spike — Picked up from Dinraal’s back
  • Shard of Dinraal’s Horn — Collect from Dinraal’s horns.
  • Shard of Dinraal’s Fang — Strike Dinraal’s head/teeth
  • Dinraal’s Scale — Strike Dinraal’s body
  • Dinraal’s Claw — Strike Dinraal’s talons/feet

Light Dragon Spawn Time and Route

Light-Dragon-Route-Zelda-Tears-of-the-Kingdom
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

The Light Dragon is the only new elemental dragon introduced in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and it’s also the most unique. Unlike Farosh, Naydra, and Dinraal, the Light Dragon does not follow a small route tied to a specific region. Instead, the Light Dragon circles the entirety of Hyrule, sticking to the far reaches of the map and sailing at a much higher altitude than its kin.

What Time Does the Light Dragon Spawn?

Light-Dragons-Head-Zelda-Tears-of-the-Kingdom-TOTK
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

As it is constantly patrolling Hyrule, the Light Dragon does not have a specific spawn time. While you can reach the Light Dragon at any point in the game, you should wait until after you’ve collected the twelve Dragon’s Tears hidden throughout Hyrule or met the Great Deku Tree. Once you’ve completed one of these objectives, the Light Dragon will descend to a lower altitude, making it much easier to reach and reclaim the repaired Master Sword from its head.

Light Dragon Materials and How to Get

  • Shard of Light Dragon’s Spike — Picked up from Light Dragon’s back
  • Shard of Light Dragon’s Horn — Collect from Light Dragon’s horns.
  • Shard of Light Dragon’s Fang — Strike Light Dragon’s head/teeth
  • Light Dragon’s Scale — Strike Light Dragon’s body
  • Light Dragon’s Talon — Strike Light Dragon’s talons/feet

Farming Dragon Materials in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Now that you know all the dragons, their locations, and spawn times, you’ll want to learn how to farm their materials. As you reach these dragons, you’ll notice they are either glowing or in their standard form. The glowing form is the only time you can gather materials from the dragon, so if you reach the dragon and it isn’t glowing — all you need to do is wait.

You can do this by waiting on the head of the dragon, and the good news is that it won’t knock you off. Dragons glow every ten real-world minutes, so be patient, and once it does glow, you’ll be able to get all materials, such as a Horn, Spike, Claw, and Scale!

5 Best Flying Mounts in Palworld, Ranked https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/best-flying-mounts-in-palworld-ranked/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/best-flying-mounts-in-palworld-ranked/#respond Mon, 29 Jan 2024 05:01:23 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=981370 Soaring on the back of a speedy Pal makes exploration in Palworld significantly easier. Though there’s only a handful of flying mounts to choose from, choosing the right Pal can make a huge difference. To help you decide, this article lists the five best flying Pal mounts in Palworld.

Once you catch a swift flying mount in Palworld, you’ll never look back. This list primarily focuses on speed, though I’ve also taken battle potential into account. After all, there’s nothing like pelting grunts with fireballs from the safety of the air.

Best Rideable Flying Pals in Palworld

#5. Shadowbeak

Shadowbeak-in-Palworld
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Shadowbeak is a Dark Pal with great stats and respectable speed. While it’s not as fast as others on the list, you will notice a difference from the typical flying Pals caught at lower levels.

For fellow aerial combat fans, Shadowbeak’s Modified DNA Partner Skill increases Dark attacks while mounted, allowing you to do some serious damage from the sky. Being super effective against Netural Pals, Shadowbeak can be an excellent pick for farming materials in the wild.

Shadowbeak Location

Shadowbeak-Location-Palworld
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Shadowbeaks can be caught on the Wildlife Sanctuary in the northeast corner of the map. This is full of Level 40 – 45 enemies, so ensure you’re prepared before your journey.

#4. Ragnahawk

How-to-Catch-Ragnahawk-in-Palworld-Location-Skills-Drops-and-Breeding-Guide
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

If the “Pokémon with guns” headlines brought you to Palworld, then Ragnahawk may be the flying mount for you. On top of having good speed, Ragnahwk’s Partner Skill, Flame Wing, adds fire damage to your attacks while riding. I don’t know about you, but firing a flaming assault rifle on the back of a giant flaming bird sounds fantastic.

After you’re done literally firing at enemies, Ragnahawk makes a fantastic kindler back at your base. Have them cook a tasty meal to refill your hunger bar or quickly smelt ore into ingots.

Ragnahawk Location

Palworld-Ragnahalk-Location
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Ragnahawks spawn in the west side of the volcano area in the southwest corner of the map. You can find out more about Ragnahawk in our guide, including how to create one through breeding.

#3 — Faleris

Faleris-Palworld
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Faleris is another Fire Pal that’s a little faster than Ragnahawk. It also has an interesting Partner Skill, Scorching Predator, which increases the number of drops from defeated Ice Pals. Trust me, you’ll be thankful for this ability when you need Ice Organs.

Faleris Location

Shadowbeak-Location-Palworld
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Faleris is also in the Wildlife Sanctuary in the northeast. You can also breed a Vanwyrm with Anubis to (potentially) produce a Faleris egg.

#2. Frostallion

Frostallion-in-Palworld
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Frostallion is the second-fastest flying mount in Palworld and an excellent fighter. Both its regular (Ice) and Noct (Dark) variants share the same flight speed, so you can choose whichever type suits your party the most — or bring both along!

For those looking for an interesting playstyle, Frostallion’s Partner Skills transforms your attacks to match its respective type and buffs all attacks from that type. Whether you want to rain down bullets or Ice Missiles from the sky, Frostallion has you covered.

Frostallion Location

Frostallion-Location-Palworld
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

You can find a Level 50 Alpha Frostallion in the icy region, west of the Absolute Zero fast travel point and near the mountain’s edge.

To obtain Frostallion Noct, you’ll need to breed a Frostallion with a Helzephyr to produce a Huge Dark Egg, as reported by Dot Esports.

#1. Jetragon

Jetragon-in-Palworld-by-Pocket-Pair
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

If you’re looking for the fastest flying Pal mount in Palworld, look no further than Jetragon. With a whopping 3300 ride sprint speed, Jetragon is the speediest Pal in the entire game. For comparison, that’s over double the speed of Frostallion.

As well as being a speed demon, Jetragon is incredibly strong in battle, both on its own and while being ridden. Combined with its ludicrous mount speed, Jetragon is a must-have Pal for endgame players. Unless a faster and stronger Pal comes along in a future patch, Jetragon has earned a permanent spot on my team.

Jetragon Location

Jetragon-Location-palworld
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Jetragon is a Level 50 boss in the northwest corner of the volcano biome. This is a scorching location, so make sure to equip armor with a cooling effect. You’ll also need a very good Pal Sphere to catch it — but it’s well worth it!

While exploring Palworld’s skies on your swift new mount, don’t forget about the Pals in your base. Check out our guide on improving working conditions to ensure your Pals are happy and working hard.

Best Minecraft Shaders for Low-End PCs https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/best-minecraft-shaders-for-low-end-pcs/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/best-minecraft-shaders-for-low-end-pcs/#respond Sat, 27 Jan 2024 18:06:40 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=839720 If you’re looking to bring Minecraft to life like never before, but have a lower-spec PC, look no further. We are going to go through the Top Shaders to help make your Minecraft experience feel better than it’s ever felt before.

You’ll be able to run these shaders on just about any type of PC, so you don’t need to worry if you don’t have the highest-end graphics card or CPU in your rig. Unlike shaders players use to make the game look better, these lightweight shaders will ensure your game looks and runs better than ever. They will give you a chance to experience one of the greatest games of all time in a new light. Let’s get right in, and find out the best Minecraft shaders you can use on a low-spec PC!

Waving Plants for Minecraft

Waving-Plants-Shader-Minecraft

While this may sound simple, the purpose of this shader is to bring a bit of life into your world. You won’t see a massive visual upgrade in the way the world looks, but you’ll be able to see the vegetation around you moving with the wind, which helps breathe a bit of life into an otherwise sterile world. Great for making your world come to life just a little bit more than normal.

Sildurs Enhanced Vanilla Shaders

Sildurs-Enhanced-Vanilla-Shaders-1.17-Minecraft

You’ll keep the charm of the original Minecraft look that players have grown to love, but you’ll see an increase in the quality of the water around you, shadows will spread much more realistically, and will even allow you to play around with different texture packs to tweak this to look to your exact specifications. A great mod if you’re looking to improve the world around you without sacrificing performance quality.

Tea Shaders For Minecraft

Tea-Shader-Minecraft

If you’re looking to see an increase in the water quality, lighting quality, and some other tweaks without ruining the performance of your PC, you’ll want to look into the Tea Shader set that is available. You’ll see the water ripple, offer more transparency, as well as enhanced lighting that brings the world of Minecraft to life more than ever before—a great shader for both low-end and high-end PCs alike.

YoFPS Shader

YoFPS-Shader-1.18.2-Minecraft

If you’re looking to enhance the lighting in your world, this will be one of the best ways to do so without sacrificing your performance. It functions almost like ray tracing, but without the massive hit to performance. You’ll be able to see all of the different ways the world will look around you using this texture pack, and find yourself looking towards the sunsets with its God Ray effects, light that shines through the trees, and more!

Builders QOL Shaders

Builders-QOL-Shaders-1.18.2-Minecraft

If you’re looking to be the master of the skies and the sea, this is the Shader for you. You’ll be able to give the sky a custom look with more realistic clouds, as well as water that can be adjusted to your exact specifications. You won’t see a performance hit, allowing this shader to rise through the ranks and make your game look better than ever. The water effects are on par with some big-name titles, making this shine brighter than most.

SORA Shaders

SORA-Shaders-Minecraft

While this screen may look like it was captured on a high-end PC, you’ll be able to tweak your game and make it look like this, no matter what your PC’s specs are. Offering some intense lighting effects that will make your world pop, you’ll be able to tweak and customize everything in this shader pack to make the world look amazing, no matter what you’re playing on. Great water reflections help seal the deal on this one.

Chocapic13 High Performance Shaders

Chocapic13-High-Performance-Shaders-1.18.2-Minecraft

With new water textures, enhanced lighting effects, and excellent draw distance, you’ll find that this shader pack can help breathe new life into the world that you’re playing in while ensuring your PC doesn’t drop frames. This shader pack is excellently optimized, allowing you to play it on just about every PC on the market, no matter what you have. You’ll be able to tweak every aspect if there is something causing issues, as well.

MakeUp – Ultra Fast Shaders

MakeUp-–-Ultra-Fast-Shaders-1.18.2-Minecraft-1

The lighting effects and water in this shader can help your world pop, and with the extra bloom that can be found alongside, you’ll be in for a fresh and inviting world. You’ll be able to customize every part of this, from Very Low to Very High, so you can ensure it will run on your PC regardless of whether it’s showing its age or fresh out of the box this year. If you decide to upgrade in the future, you can keep this running and go with enhancements built into this shader pack to make things look even better than ever.

KUDA Shaders – No Lag!

KUDA-Shaders-1.17.1→1.18-No-Lag-Minecraft

The KUDA shader set has been around just about as long as Minecraft has, so it’s no surprise to see that they’ve been able to make the shader pack work well with low-end devices, as well as blazing-fast PCs. You’ll be able to tweak everything in this shader pack to make sure your PC still runs the game smoothly, and you may see an improvement over your current vanilla shader due to how well this is optimized. It’s not my favorite Minecraft shader for a low-end pc, but it works well enough.

Iris Shaders

Iris-Shaders-Minecraft

Optimized with the idea of running on low-end devices, you’ll be able to see an immediate difference when you start using Iris Shaders. You’ll see an increased lighting volume, higher quality shadows, and a shader that can evolve with your needs. You’ll be able to run this on just about any PC, and if you decide to upgrade in the future, you can make this look better than ever with its plethora of options.

Chocapic v8 Shaders

Chocapic-v8-Shaders-1.18-Minecraft
Image: Minecr4ftHub / Mojang

If you’re looking to push your PC to the limit to see how good you can make Minecraft look, this is your answer. With the insane amount of customization within, you can make the world look exactly as you would like. And, with different options, you’ll be able to ensure your PC can handle what this shader brings to the table. While it may make your world look the best it ever has, running this shader on Medium should let just about any PC handle the new look.

Stracciatella Shaders

Stracciatella-Shaders-Minecraft
Image: DrDesten / Mojang

Feel the breeze with Stracciatella Shaders — this lightweight shader pack causes water to ebb and flow like waves and trees and foliage to sway in the wind, providing an incredibly calming effect. Another excellent touch is colored light being emitted from light sources, such as Soul Torches radiating a cool blue glow. Make sure to keep your eyes on the skies to watch for shooting stars and admire realistic views of the sun, moon, and stars.

Exposa Shaders

Exposa-Shaders-Minecraft
Image: negorolxvv / Mojang

Exposa Shaders is so breathtaking that it’s difficult to believe it can run so well on lower-end systems. This is why I can’t recommend this shader enough. It’s by far one of my favorite Minecraft shaders, not just for low-spec PCs, but in general. Aiming for a “natural and fantasy style,” Exposa adds gorgeous reflections, enhanced shadows, puddles, realistic clouds, and even HDR display options.

Potato Shader

Potato-Shader-Minecraft
Image: RRe36 / Mojang

For those of you playing Minecraft on a true potato PC, this appropriately named shader is for you. If a Potato can run the game, then your computer can run it too. Jokes aside, this one of the best Minecraft shaders if your PC is a potato. Potato Shader subtly enhances your graphics with custom water effects, dynamic colors, ambient occlusion, and other effects that practically any computer can run.

Vaporwave Shaderpack

Vaporwave-Shader-Minecraft
Image: XorDev / Mojang

Add that classic 80s neon flair to Minecraft by downloading Vaporwave Shaderpack. This bizarre shader makes your entire game wavy, with glowing grid lines spanning the entire world. While not particularly practical, this shader pack can provide a fun and unique experience for those who can’t run more extravagant and outlandish shaders smoothly.

Bliss

Bliss-Shader-Minecraft
Image: Xonk___ / Patrix 128x / Mojang

The focus of Bliss is variety and contrast. This shader pack features a dynamic sky that drastically alters every cycle and “biome-specific environments,” making each biome distinct from the others. Plenty of settings are available for various aspects of the pack to tailor it to your PC’s performance. No wonder this is one of the best Minecraft shaders for a low-end PC that you can find out there.

Is 8GB RAM Enough For Minecraft Shaders?

A high-quality GPU is probably enough to operate Shaders with just 8GB of RAM. However, if your GPU is outdated or integrated, 8GB of RAM may not be sufficient. The shaders mentioned earlier are designed specifically for lower-end PCs, so they should work fine. However, if you’re looking to enhance your game’s visuals with a superior shader, you might require additional RAM.

Which Shader Is the Least Laggy?

The least laggy Minecraft Shaders are the KUDA Shaders – No Lag! and the Potato Shader. One is specially made to avoid lag and the other runs on pretty much any pc. With either of those, your game will certainly be less laggy and more responsive.

And there we have it, the best shaders that you can run on your lower-spec rig! If you’re looking for more Minecraft hints and tricks, be sure to check out our Minecraft Section, which can help you along the way. If you’re looking to test these shaders out in some of the most exotic locations, be sure to check out our picks for the best seeds you can try out, as well!

How to Enable PvP in LEGO Fortnite https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/how-to-enable-pvp-in-lego-fortnite/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/how-to-enable-pvp-in-lego-fortnite/#respond Tue, 23 Jan 2024 16:38:07 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=980839 PvP (Player vs Player) has finally arrived in LEGO Fortnite! This guide covers everything you need to know about Friendly Damage mode, which allows players to battle and eliminate each other — as well as NPC Villagers.

How to Play PvP Mode (Friendly Damage) in LEGO Fortnite

To enable PvP in LEGO Fortnite, create a new world and set Friendly Damage to On in Advance Settings. Friendly Damage mode can’t be disabled once selected, so think carefully before deciding. Blowing up your friends is hilarious, but remember, this setting affects Villagers too.

LEGO-Fortnite-Friendly-Damage
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

If you’re looking to PvP in an existing world, you’re sadly out of luck. Friendly Damage cannot be enabled in LEGO Fortnite worlds that already exist. It’s super disappointing, but at least every player will be on equal terms in a new world.

What Does Friendly Damage Do When Turned On?

Friendly Damage is turned off by default. This stops Villagers from being eliminated and prevents players from damaging each other. No matter how much you throw those C-shaped hands, they’ll always phase through your buddies.

LEGO-Fortnite-PvP
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

With Friendly Damage turned on, all players can attack and eliminate other players and Villagers. Yes, that means you can brutally assault Peely to remove him from your village. You monster.

There’s no gameplay advantage to enabling Friendly Damage. Your Villagers being in potential danger from accidental attacks or stray arrows is a disadvantage if anything. But it does have a ton of potential for fun fights and pranking your friends.

Since you’ll be creating a new world for PvP, check out our guide on the best LEGO Fortnite seeds to get off to the best start possible. If some ship combat sounds fun, we also have articles on creating boats and airships.

Palworld: ‘Feeling Down Because of Bad Working Conditions’ and How to Fix https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/palworld-feeling-down-because-of-bad-working-conditions-and-how-to-fix/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/palworld-feeling-down-because-of-bad-working-conditions-and-how-to-fix/#respond Tue, 23 Jan 2024 15:02:47 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=980503 Is your Pal “feeling down because of bad working conditions” in Palworld? Afraid they’re gonna unionize? This guide covers everything you can do to improve working conditions and fix your Pal’s mood. A happy Pal is a hardworking Pal!

How to Make Pals Happy and Improve Working Conditions in Palworld

Much like real life, taking care of your employees is essential for good work. If your Pal is feeling down due to a lack of necessities, it can decide to stop working and even develop depression. Yes, seriously.

While in your Palworld base, the top right of the screen displays the current status of your Pals. The “feeling down because of bad working conditions” status can happen for several reasons, such as lacking necessities or being unable to reach them.

Give your Pal a bed

Pal-beds-Palworld
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Make sure that every Pal in your base has a suitable bed they can reach at night. If your Pal doesn’t get regular sleep, it’ll develop various problems that stop it from working or cause it to fall ill.

Some Pals require better beds unlocked further in the Technology tab. Sleeping on hay isn’t for everyone; stronger Pals know what they’re worth.

Ensure your Pal isn’t stuck

Stuck-Pal-Palworld
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

The number one cause for my Pals being cranky or ill is because they’ve become stuck. Whether they’re lost or have fallen off a cliff, I’m constantly repositioning my Pals back to where they should be.

You can use the Palbox to quickly unassign and reassign a Pal to your base, respawning them in the center. If something like a bed is on top of a structure, make sure your Pals can reach it by adding stairs.

Supply plenty of food

Palworld-pals-eating
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Pals get hungry while working, but it doesn’t mean you have to feed them manually. Put a Feed Box in your base and ensure it’s stocked with plenty of food. Your Pals will automatically take breaks and fill their hunger bars when needed.

I put my Feed Box next to my Ranch, which causes my Transporting Pal to keep it stocked up with Eggs automatically. A single Chikipi powers my entire base — poor guy.

Build a Hot Spring

Palworld-Hot-Spring
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Having a Hot Spring in your base allows Pals to take a quick soak and regain Sanity (SAN). Ideally, you want all your Pals to be at 100 SAN to prevent adverse health effects. Like beds, you’ll unlock a better Hot Spring later on that’s more suitable for powerful Pals.

Don’t overwork your Pals!

Pal-Monitoring-Stand-Palworld

Using the Monitoring Stand, you can choose the level of work for Pals in your base. While it’s tempting to overwork the poor critters for fast results, this causes them to lose Sanity and become unhappy quickly. Only use the “Super Hard Working” setting when you desperately need work completed or your base is beefed up enough to handle it.

With these tips in mind, your Pal should recover from feeling down and work harder than ever. The next step is making your Pal party stronger, which you can do with this overpowered item that’s super easy to craft.

This Overpowered Early-Game Palworld Item Makes Everything Easy https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/this-overpowered-early-game-palworld-item-makes-everything-easy/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/this-overpowered-early-game-palworld-item-makes-everything-easy/#respond Mon, 22 Jan 2024 03:40:25 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=980475 In Palworld, players are limited to fighting with one Pal at a time — but what if I told you there’s a way to change that? With the Dream Chaser Partner Skill, you can battle alongside five Pals simultaneously… with a catch.

Dream Chaser is a partner skill exclusive to Daedream, a Pal players can catch in early-game areas at night. Once the necessary item is crafted, all Daedreams in your party will automatically fight alongside you and your active Pal.

Throwing an entire party of Pals at a boss feels hugely overpowered, and the best part is that you can access the item you need at Level 8. Let’s jump into finding Daedream, crafting Daedream’s Necklace, and melting some high-level enemies.

Where to Find Daedream in Palworld

Daedream-Map-Palworld
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Daedream is found at night in most of Palworld’s early-game areas. I consistently found Daedream every night during the beginning of the game, so you shouldn’t have trouble tracking down this mischievous Pal. Just make sure you’re warm enough for Palworld’s chilly nights.

As well as being easy to track down, Daedream is also an easy catch. All you need to watch out for are its magic blasts, which you’ll soon be throwing at your enemies instead.

How to Craft Daedream’s Necklace and Use Multiple Pals

Daedreams-Necklace-Pal-Gear-Palworld
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

You need to craft Daedream’s Necklace at a Pal Gear Workbench to unlock Daedream’s Dream Chaser Partner Skill and have it follow you. The good news is that you only need to craft one of these, regardless of how many Daedreams you plan to demolish your enemies with.

Daedream’s Necklace is unlockable at Level 8 in the technology tab. If you haven’t already, you also need the Pal Gear Work Bench from the Level 6 row. The item requires 10 Paldium Fragments, 10 Fiber, and 5 Leather to craft.

  • Paldium Fragments can be mined from stone or Paldium deposits
  • Fiber is gathered by hitting trees
  • Leather is dropped by defeating certain Pals

Keep an eye out for Pals like Foxparks, Nitewing, and Direhowl while hunting for Daedream to gather the Leather you need. I gathered my Leather by battling Pals in areas near the Grassy Behemoth Hills tower.

How to Use Multiple Daedream Simultaneously

Daedream-Party-Palworld
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Once Daedream’s Necklace has been crafted at the Pal Gear Work Bench, all Daedream in your party will automatically fight beside you and follow you around. When you attack using your weapon, Daedream will passively launch its Dark Ball attack at enemies.

It’s important to note that Daedream will only attack unless actively sent out. It can’t work, switch between moves, or tank attacks. However, it does destroy enemies with a pretty loud beam of energy. As long as you don’t aim for too mighty of a foe — like my Level 7 Daedreams facing off against Mammorest — your personal army of Daedreams will melt just about anything in your way.

Why Does Palworld’s Audio Sound So Bad? https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/why-does-palworlds-audio-sound-so-bad/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/why-does-palworlds-audio-sound-so-bad/#respond Sat, 20 Jan 2024 22:23:51 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=977280 If you’ve played Palworld on Xbox, you’ve likely noticed that the game’s audio sounds like it’s being played through a musical greeting card. Is Palworld’s poor audio a bug or perhaps a deliberate callback to the early 90s? Let’s talk about it.

Can You Fix Palworld’s Sound on Xbox?

Don’t worry; there’s nothing wrong with your speakers or sound settings. Palworld’s compressed audio is a bug in the Xbox version of the game. Unfortunately, there’s no way to improve the sound quality at the time of publishing.

I’ve played Palworld on both Xbox Series X and PC (via Game Pass) and noticed a considerable difference in the audio quality. PC is crisp and clear, while Xbox’s audio sounds like it was recorded with tissue paper over the microphone.

As high-quality audio exists in the PC versions of Palworld, Xbox will likely receive an update in the near future to boost the quality by a few decades. Even if the terrible audio quality is unintended, I enjoyed the unintentional throwback to the Dreamcast era.

Nostalgia for a criminally underrated console aside, it turns out that the Xbox versions of Palworld are actually running on an entirely different version number than Steam. From DLSS support to item names, we’ve noticed a considerable discrepancy between versions.

Why Doesn’t Palworld Have Background Music or Ambient Audio?

Due to running on an earlier version, the Xbox releases of Palworld lack various audio elements, such as ambient sounds and some music. This includes the PC Game Pass version of Palworld, which, besides the audio bug, is identical to the console release.

Steam is currently running on Palworld version 0.1.2.0, while Xbox is still sitting at v0.1.0.0. Steam being two patches ahead has resulted in a lack of crossplay and various other features missing from the Xbox version.

So, will Palworld on Xbox eventually catch up to the Steam release? Yes! Eventually. Pocket Pair has commented that crossplay between Steam and Xbox is planned in the future, meaning all versions of Palworld will ultimately fall under the same version number. When that is, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Since Palworld on Xbox features slower crafting, you might want to assign your Pals some tougher work. Check out our guide on how to recover sanity to ensure your Pals — or humans — are all in tip-top condition.

How to Fix OnCreateSessionComplete Error in Palworld https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/how-to-fix-oncreatesessioncomplete-bwassuccessful-falsemultiplayer-error-in-palworld/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/how-to-fix-oncreatesessioncomplete-bwassuccessful-falsemultiplayer-error-in-palworld/#respond Sat, 20 Jan 2024 02:53:20 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=980241 Some players eager to jump into Palworld for the first time are being hit with a lengthy error message preventing them from creating a world. This guide covers how to fix the “OnCreateSessionComplete Delegate bWasSuccessful == false” error so you can quickly get back to beating sheep with a stick.

How to Fix The “OnCreateSessionCompleteDelegate bWasSuccessful == false” Error in Palworld

OnCreateSessionCompleteDelegate-bWasSuccessful-false-Palworld
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

If you’re trying to create a Palworld world for the first time, you may have encountered either the “OnCreateSessionComplete Delegate bWasSuccessful == false” or “failed to host multiplayer session” error. To fix either of these world creation errors in Palworld, you have two options:

  • Disable multiplayer
  • Keep attempting to create your world until the error disappears

On the official Pocket Pair Discord, a community manager confirmed that multiple tries to create or enter a world should eventually work. If not, you’ll need to turn multiplayer off.

I encountered the “OnCreateSessionComplete” error the first time I launched Palworld, but I was eventually able to jump in after multiple attempts. It took about three tries before I was able to jump into my first world, where I was killed by a Dinossom after charging at it with my bare fists. Oops.

Why Does “OnCreateSessionCompleteDelegate bWasSuccessful == false” mean?

Palworld is still in early access, so players can expect numerous bugs before Pocket Pair squashes them for the game’s release. The “OnCreateSessionCompleteDelegate bWasSuccessful == false” error is an Unreal Engine error that happens when a multiplayer session fails, which Pocket Pair has confirmed is due to congestion.

To avoid the error popping up in the future, don’t touch any settings while multiplayer is active. You may think you’ve seen the last of it once you finally enter your world, but this sneaky mouthful of an error will eventually creep back.

Now that you can freely explore Palworld, check out our guide covering all Pal types and their weaknesses to ensure you’re well prepared. Oh, and don’t forget about being able to capture humans too.

MW3 Zombies Perk-a-Cola Locations & Crafting Recipes/Schematics https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/mw3-zombies-perk-a-cola-locations-crafting-recipes-schematics/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/mw3-zombies-perk-a-cola-locations-crafting-recipes-schematics/#respond Thu, 18 Jan 2024 19:58:23 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=964713 In need of an upgrade? Thirsty? Hit two zombies with one bullet thanks to Perk-a-Cola: permanent upgrades in a can. This guide covers how to find and craft all nine Perk-A-Colas in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Zombies.

How to Find Perk-a-Cola in MW3 Zombies (MWZ)

Perk-Machine-Map-MW3-Zombies
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

In MW3 Zombies, Perk-a-Colas are found in Perk-a-Cola Machines, just like in the good ol’ days. The locations of Perk-a-Cola Machines (or Perk Machines) are randomized every match, but the TacMap always displays where you can find them.

If you’re low on Essence, Reward Rifts at the end of contracts often contain a random can of Perk-a-Cola. The Random Perk power-up also gives you, fittingly, a random perk. You can also craft individual Perk-a-Colas in the Gear menu before deployment.

How to Craft Perk-a-Cola in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies

Perk-a-Cola-Schematic-menu-Modern-Warfare-3-Zombies

To craft Perk-a-Cola in MWZ, follow these steps:

  • Open the Gear tab
  • Select Add Item in your Rucksack
  • Select Schematic Crafting
  • Choose the Perk-a-Cola you want to craft

You can also craft Aetherium, Ammo Mods, and Wonder Weapons in the Schematic Crafting tab if you’ve extracted their recipes.

Like a certain other cola company, Perk-a-Cola keeps its recipes well-guarded. You need to find or earn Perk-a-Cola Schematics before you can craft them.

How to Find Perk-a-Cola Schematics

Perk-a-Cola Schematics, along with Aetherium and Ammo Mod Schematics, have a slim chance of dropping from Reward Rifts. For example, the Speed Cola recipe has a chance to drop from Reward Rifts at the end of Tier 1 contracts. A couple of Schematics are also given as rewards from Story Missions.

Here’s the full list of Perk-a-Cola Schematics and their locations in MW3 Zombies:

Perk-a-Cola RecipeSchematic Location
Deadshot Daiquiri SchematicTier 1 Contract
Death Perception SchematicAct 3 Mission reward
Elemental Pop SchematicTier 3 Contract
Jugger-Nog SchematicTier 2 Contract
PHD Flopper SchematicTier 2 Contract
Quick Revive SchematicAct 1 Mission reward
Speed Cola SchematicTier 1 Contract
Stamin-Up SchematicTier 1 Contract
Tombstone Soda SchematicTier 3 Contract

You can use Perk-a-Cola Schematics every three hours to create a specific can to store in your backpack. No crafting materials are involved, so who knows how they’re made? Or what they taste like.

Every Perk-a-Cola in MWZ

Drinking a Perk-a-Cola in MW3 Zombies will give you a permanent boost throughout the match (or until dead). Here’s every Perk-a-Cola and what they do:

  • Deadshot Daiquiri
    • Aiming down sight moves to enemy critical location. Increase enemy critical damage.
  • Death Perception
    • Obscured enemies, chests, resources, and item drops are more easily spotted, including through walls.
  • Elemental Pop
    • Every bullet you fire has a small chance to apply a random Ammo Mod effect.
  • Jugger-Nog
    • Increases maximum health.
  • PHD Flopper
    • Diving to prone triggers an explosion. The explosion increases the higher you fall. Immunity from fall damage while diving. Immunity from area-of-effect damage from weapons you are using.
  • Quick Revive
    • Reduce the health regeneration delay time by 50%. Reduce the time it takes to revive an ally by 50%.
  • Speed Cola
    • Drink to reload and replate armor faster.
  • Stamin-Up
    • Increases run and sprint speed.
  • Tombstone Soda
    • On death, you create a tombstone stash at that location, containing your backpack inventory in the next game.

On the topic of Schematics, did you know the iconic Ray Gun has one? Check out How to Get the Ray Gun Schematic in MW3 Zombies.

Best Light Cones for Each Path and Character in Honkai Star Rail https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/best-light-cones-for-each-path-and-character-in-honkai-star-rail/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/best-light-cones-for-each-path-and-character-in-honkai-star-rail/#respond Thu, 18 Jan 2024 19:31:55 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=919740 Light Cones are equipable items in Honkai: Star Rail, providing characters with bonus stats and effects. Certain Light Cones can increase a character’s damage or support potential by an incredible amount, and choosing the right one is essential for maximizing characters in endgame content.

With only one Light Cone slot per character and a whole heap of choices, this guide is here to help you make the correct decision with a list of the best Light Cones for each Path and every Character in Honkai: Star Rail — including alternate options for new players and those of us having very little luck with the current banners.

Best Destruction Light Cones in Honkai Star Rail

On-The-Fall-of-Aoen-Light-COne

As the name suggests, Destruction characters are all about dishing out heavy damage. On the Fall of an Aeon is generally the best Destruction Light Cone, increasing the user’s Attack whenever they strike an enemy, and Damage on Weakness Breaks.

Something-Irreplaceable
Image: Attack of the Fanboy / miHoYo

Something Irreplaceable is also a fantastic choice and a personal favorite of mine, providing a permanent flat increase of 24% – 40% to Attack and a small heal when being hit or defeating an enemy.

Best The Hunt Light Cones in Honkai Star Rail

In-The-Night-Light-Cone
Image: Attack of the Fanboy / miHoYo

I will stand by the testament that The Hunt characters are the best in Honkai: Star Rail, mainly due to my love for the Light Cones available, which makes this particular path shine. Characters that follow the path of The Hunt excel in single-target damage, often relying on Critical hits. In The Night is my go-to as it increases your character’s Critical Rate by 18% – 30% and boosts the damage of their Attack, Skill, and Critical damage of their Ultimate.

Sleep-Like-The-Dead
Image: Attack of the Fanboy / miHoYo

Sleep Like the Dead is a stellar option for characters relying heavily on Crit. It is another favorite of mine as it gives the character a flat 30% – 50% increase in Critical damage and their Crit rate when an attack fails to make a Critical hit. This works especially well with Dr. Ratio!

Best Erudition Light Cones in Honkai Star Rail

Milky-Way-Light-Cone
Image: Attack of the Fanboy / miHoYo

Erudition characters are perfect for simultaneously dealing damage to multiple enemies — commonly known as AoE (Area of Effect) damage across the gaming sphere. Night on the Milky Way and Before Dawn are your best choices for Erudition units, though which you choose depends on your specific character.

Night on the Milky Way increases the character’s Attack based on how many enemies you’re facing and boosts Damage on Weakness Breaks. This works well with characters like Serval and Himeko.

Before-Dawn-Light-Coen
Image: Attack of the Fanboy / miHoYo

Before Dawn has a flat Critical, Skill, and Ultimate damage increase. Following a Skill or Ultimate being used, the character will gain Somnus Corpus, which provides a massive damage boost when a follow-up attack is triggered.

Best Harmony Light Cones

But-The-Battle-Isnt-Over
Image: Attack of the Fanboy / miHoYo

Harmony characters are the hypemen and women of Honkai: Star Rail, strengthening their allies by buffing them and removing debuffs inflicted by enemies.

But the Battle Isn’t Over is the best Light Cone for all Harmony characters and has helped me the most in battle, as it increases their Regeneration rate and generates a Skill Point when an Ultimate is used on an ally. It also raises an ally’s damage by a considerable amount every time your character uses their skill, which is generally every turn for an Abundance character.

Best Nihility Light Cones in Honkai Star Rail

In-The-Name-of-the-World-Light-Cone

Nihility characters are the opposite of those walking the path of Harmony, instead focusing on debuffing and weakening enemies. In the Name of the World is perfect for every Nihility unit, providing a 24% – 40% increase to the user’s damage against debuffed targets and increasing their Effect Hit Rate and Attack when using a Skill.

Best Preservation Light Cones in Honkai Star Rail

Preservation characters are the equivalent of tanks in Honkai Star Rail, shielding your team and often taking the brunt of attacks. This means you’ll need a lot of Defense, and Moment of Victory provides more than enough.

With Moment of Victory equipped, your character gains a permanent 24% – 40% increase to their Defense and Effect Hit Rate. It also increases the chance of being hit by enemies and increases Defense even further when attacked. “Get hit, get paid” is what I like to say.

Best Abundance Light Cones in Honkai Star Rail

Time-Waits-For-No-One-Honkai-Star-Rail-Lightcone

Abundance characters are your team’s primary healers, with the core goal of keeping your team’s health constantly topped up at the cost of typically outputting little to no damage.

Time Waits For No One is by far the best Light Cone for all Abundance characters. Equipping it will increase your character’s outgoing healing by 12% – 20% and maximum HP by 18% – 30%.

While this alone would make it the go-to choice for an Abundance character, it also passively deals damage based on the healing value of your character when an ally attacks an enemy once per turn — minor extra damage as a treat.

What is the Best 5-Star Light Cone in Honkai Star Rail?

The best 5-Star Light Cones in Honkai Star Rail are In the Night and Before Dawn. As previously mentioned in this guide, these two Light Cones significantly increase the potential of the characters who have them equipped. If you had to pick one of these Light Cones, I recommend picking Before Dawn for the Erudition Path. The significant boost of 36% to CRIT damage cannot be overlooked. This is, of course, only if you prefer to have a character of the Erudition Path in your party.

As a man of faith, Padre’s former pistol inflicts enemies with the “purifying flame of the Seraphim.” Basically, it sets them on fire, and bullets do increased damage while the enemy is burning.

Main Gig Reward: Axolotl (Cyberware)
Additional Reward: Hypercritical (Iconic Koalc)

Axolotl, an Iconic Frontal Cortex Cyberware implant, is found in your Stash once you complete the Last Call side job, unlocked after completing all of Regina Jones’ Gigs.

While perhaps not as exciting as other final Gig rewards Cyberpunk 2077 has to offer, the Axolotl is still a decent implant. It reduces the cooldown of all cyberware by -5.0 – 7.5% after killing an enemy.

Thankfully, the Cyberunners update added the Hypercritical weapon as an exclusive reward in the Concrete Cage Trap gig. The Hypercritical is an Iconic version of the Rostović Kolac with an Iconic modifier that knocks down enemies and guarantees its final bullet deals crit damage.

How to Prepare the Ship for Grav Drive in the First Contact Quest in Starfield https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/how-to-prepare-the-ship-for-grav-drive-in-the-first-contact-quest-in-starfield/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/how-to-prepare-the-ship-for-grav-drive-in-the-first-contact-quest-in-starfield/#respond Thu, 18 Jan 2024 15:13:35 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=946076 Installing a new Grav Drive is one of the trickiest options in Starfield’s ‘First Contact’ mission. To save you a headache, this guide will show you exactly how to install the Grav Drive and set the ECS Constant on a journey to find a new home.

Starfield: Preparing the Ship for Grav Drive in the First Contact Mission

There are three computers you need to interact with to prepare the ECS Constant with a Grav Drive for the ‘First Contact’ quest in Starfield. I found this mission to be complicated at first, but you won’t have any trouble following this guide.

Engineering Control Computer Alpha – Turbopump Port

Starfield-Reroute-Power
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

The first step in the mission to prepare the Grav Drive is to reroute power from the Port Turbopump to the Auxillary Cryogenic Radiator. To do this, go to Engineering Control Computer Alpha and select Turbopump — Port first and Cryogenic Radiator — Auxiliary second, and you’re good to go.

Engineering Control Computer Beta – Plasma Run-Off Inhibiter

Starfield-Plasma-Run-Off-Inhibitor
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Next up, you need to adjust the power level of the Plasma Run-Off Inhibiter to the correct level at the Engineering Control Computer Beta. To complete this step, choose the Plasma Run-Off Inhibiter from the list and set it to 95%.

Engineering Control Computer Gamma – Magnetic Flange Pipe Enclosures

Starfield-Magnetic-Flange-Pipe-Enclosure
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Lastly, you need to decouple the Auxiliary Module Assembly from the Magnetic Flange Pipe Enclosures. Use Engineering Control Computer Gamma and select Auxiliary Module Assembly. From there, choose to decouple and then select the Magnetic Flange Pipe Enclosures. That’s all you need to do!

Related: What Do Red Health Bars Mean in Starfield?

This quest seems much more complex on paper than it is in practice. If you ever forget what you need to do, all of the steps are in your quest log, so don’t hesitate to check your journal if you need a refresher.

There’s also no penalty for choosing the wrong options, so you can always go back and correct your mistakes if the quest doesn’t advance to the next step. I got the steps wrong multiple times, but thankfully, nothing happened, and I could go back and make the correct adjustments.

Once you’ve set everything to the correct levels and decoupled the right parts, the quest will automatically continue to the next step. At this point, the First Contact quest is nearly over! There are just a few more people to talk to before you can cross this one off your list.

Is There a Different Ending if You Don’t Take the Grav Drive Path in Starfield?

There are three endings for the First Contact mission. There are three dialogue options at the end of the mission that can change the ending you get. Here are all the dialogue options.

  1. Help the crew settle in Paradiso by providing some extra resources.
  2. Equip the Constant with a Grav Drive for them to settle somewhere else.
  3. Destroy the Ship.

Naturally, these are conflicting options. The ECS Constant encountered Paradiso after an enormously long voyage, and it’s simply a sad coincidence that somebody settled there first. Helping them settle seems appealing, but sending them on a new mission to settle elsewhere is a worthy compromise once you can persuade them.

First Contact Mission Rewards in Starfield

If you choose to settle the crew on Paradiso, you will get rewarded with the following items:

  • .45 Caliber ACP x30
  • Antique Earth Baseball x2
  • Antique Earth Basketball
  • Antique Earth Hockey Stick x3
  • Antique Earth Soccer Ball x2
  • Antique Piggy Bank
  • Modified XM-2311

If you choose to send the crew on a new voyage with their new Grav Drive, you will be rewarded with the following items after completing the quest:

  • .45 Caliber Acp X30
  • Antique Earth Baseball x2
  • Antique Earth Basketball
  • Antique Earth Hockey Stick x3
  • Antique Earth Soccer Ball x2
  • Antique Piggy Bank
  • Grav Drive Retrofit Manual
  • Modified XM-2311

Destroying the ship will only reward you with Credits after completing the First Contact quest:

  • 6500 Credits

What is the Best Option in Starfield’s ‘First Contact’ Mission? – Grav Drive, Settle on Paradiso, or Destroy the Ship?

The first or the second are equally reasonable choices. I don’t recommend the third option, which only rewards you with 6,500 credits. Unless you’re in dire need of some cash, 6,500 credits is pretty underwhelming.

There isn’t too much reason not to choose one of the other options, as you will be getting a free weapon from them in the process. Plus, who doesn’t love a good antique baseball every once in a while? You can even keep it on your desk like Captain Sisko.

Phasmophobia PlayStation and Xbox Release Dates Explained https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/phasmophobia-console-release-date-xbox-ps4-and-ps5-versions/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/phasmophobia-console-release-date-xbox-ps4-and-ps5-versions/#respond Wed, 17 Jan 2024 15:39:25 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=928591 Phasmophobia always has players returning to play it over and over again thanks to its excellent unnerving and humorous gameplay but I also know console users will wonder when the game is set for release.

This article will take you through everything we know about the Phasmophobia console release date.

When Does Phasmophobia Release on Consoles?

The console release for Phasmophobia has been postponed, so PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players hoping for a chance to play the game have to wait longer. A revised release date window was not given. The originally planned release window was the week leading up to Halloween in 2023, but there were several factors cited in their mid-October news post including:

  • Continuing to adjust after the fire incident caused August’s delay.
  • Setting up a new office.
  • Additional challenges balancing the experience for PSVR2 players.
  • Reworking the Maple Lodge Campsite with a new reception office area, hiding spots, and performance improvements.

Related: All Equipment Tiers in Phasmophobia

Phasmophobia was initially planned to hit consoles in August 2023. Due to an unfortunate fire incident at Kinetic Games’ office, the release date was pushed forward two months to ensure a smooth launch. Since then, there has been a further update in the form of a Steam blog in January which showcases that the game is still in development for consoles.

It should be noted people have also wondered if a Phasmophobia PS4 version will exist and this is answered below along with other consoles.

Is Phasmophobia Delayed On PlayStation 5?

Yes, Phasmophobia is delayed for PlayStation 5 but it is coming, alongside Xbox Series X and Series S. For console players, I recommend you’ll want to learn how to use the DOTS Projector and the other ghost-hunting tools.

Will Phasmophobia Release for PSVR2?

As mentioned earlier, Phasmophobia is coming to PSVR2 as well! I know that Phasmophobia VR is a truly terrifying experience; it’s not for the faint of heart. While other Phasmo clones have sprouted up in recent months to years, few have this level of continuous support to reach the wider player base like Phasmophobia.

Is the Console Version of Phasmophobia Crossplay?

The PS5 and Xbox Series versions of Phasomophobia will have the option to enable crossplay. This means that no matter which platforms your friends choose, you can all play together. Horror games are always better with friends, and Phasmophobia is no anomaly.

Is Phasmophobia Coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4?

Phasmophobia isn’t coming to PlayStation 4 or Xbox One consoles. There will be no Phasmophobia PS4 version. I know this may come as disappointing news, but I’m looking forward to playing Phasmophobia on other consoles soon. We aren’t sure if it’ll be on Xbox Game Pass yet or exactly how much it’ll cost. It currently costs $13.99 on Steam, so expect a similar price on Xbox Series X|S and PS5 when it does eventually release.

Honkai Star Rail Swarm Disaster Torturous Difficulty Guide | Best Teams and Path for Difficulty 5 https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/honkai-star-rail-swarm-disaster-torturous-difficulty-guide-best-teams-and-path-for-difficulty-5/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/honkai-star-rail-swarm-disaster-torturous-difficulty-guide-best-teams-and-path-for-difficulty-5/#respond Tue, 16 Jan 2024 20:46:12 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=946417 Honkai Star Rail’s Simulated Universe isn’t intended to be difficult endgame content — that honor goes to the Forgotten Hall — but the new Swarm Disaster mode comes with a new difficulty level called Torturous that is testing the patience of even the most experienced Trailblazers.

Difficulty level 5 of Swarm Disaster is some of the hardest content currently available in Honkai Star Rail for several reasons, but also like the normal Simulated Universe, it’s completely manageable with the right team, the right Blessings, and just the right amount of luck.

Look, I’m going to be so real with you right now. I know we usually offer F2P-friendly options in our build guides here at Attack of the Fanboy or give you alternatives for characters you might not have, but Torturous difficulty is some of the hardest content in the game right now. If you aren’t easily clearing Memory of Chaos regularly, then you might want to come back and try this later.

Best Torturous Difficulty Team Composition in HSR

Honkai-Star-Rail-Swarm-Disaster-Tortuous-Difficulty
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

It’s going to be hard to clear without a team of built 5-Stars. This is made even worse because you’re going to want Imaginary and Quantum DPS characters for this run, and most of the good ones are 5-Stars like Seele, Silver Wolf, Welt, or Imbibitor Lunae.

With that said, there are a handful of team compositions that will make your life a lot easier. As long as you have a handful of 5-Star units with good Relics and stats, you should be able to get through this.

Best-5-Star-Characters-in-Honkai-Star-Rail-Seele
Image: Hoyoverse

Seele Quantum Carry Team

Here’s a great team that can easily hold its own during Swarm Disaster’s Torturous difficulty.

  • Seele
  • Luocha
  • Bronya
  • Tingyun

Using the Hunt Path, this team can deal insane amounts of damage so you won’t have to worry about staying alive too long. As you’d expect, it revolves around Seele. Use Tingyun to buff her, Bronya to advance her turn and provide additional buffs, and Luocha to keep the team alive and apply Imaginary Weakness Breaks. Make sure your team is built for CRIT, especially Seele. With the right Hunt Blessings, she can decimate the True Sting’s health bar at the end of the last Plane.

Honkai-Star-Rail-Kafka-Material-Farming-Guide-Ascension-and-Trace-Materials-3
Image: Hoyoverse

Kafka DOT Team

Next up, a DOT-focused team can get around some of the elemental restrictions.

  • Kafka
  • Serval
  • Silver Wolf
  • Bailu

This team relies upon Kafka and Serval placing constant Shocked DOTs on enemies and having Kafka detonate them with her abilities. Silver Wolf can imprint Electric weaknesses on enemies that don’t have it, and Bailu will keep everyone alive. This is a Skill-Point-hungry team, but with plenty of Nihility Blessings, your damage should be high. Plus, there are Nihility Blessings that heal your team based on DOT damage, so look for those.

Honkai-Star-Rail-Dan-Heng-Imbibitor-Lunae-5-Star
Image: Hoyoverse

Imbibitor Lunae Imaginary DPS Carry Team

If you were lucky enough to pick up Imbibitor Lunae, here’s a lineup centered around buffing him for huge boss damage.

  • Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae
  • Yukong
  • Tingyun
  • Luocha

This team doubles down on the Imaginary weaknesses of the bosses. With Imbibitor Lunae’s crazy damage output being further enhanced by Yukong and Tingyun, he should be able to nuke the boss HP bar if Luocha can keep everyone alive long enough. Use the Hunt Path to secure those sweet CRITs during tough fights.

Best-5-Star-Characters-in-Honkai-Star-Rail-Gepard
Image: Hoyoverse

Tanky Gepard Team

If you keep dying and want to focus on survivability, then Gepard is the best tank in the game.

  • Gepard
  • Imbibitor Lunae
  • Silver Wolf
  • Luocha

This is basically the same as the Imbibitor Lunae team composition described above, but with Gepard filling in to keep your team protected from the insane damage output of the True Sting boss and other foes in the Swarm Disaster. Silver Wolf slots easily into any team because of her great debuffs, but you can swap her out for another debuffer if you want. You can also swap Luocha out with another healer, but he’ll help you preserve Skill Points for Imbibitor Lunae, and he capitalizes on the Imaginary elemental recommendation for Swarm Disaster, too.

Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Best Paths for Torturous Difficulty

The best Path to choose in your Torturous difficulty Swarm Disaster run is going to depend on your team and strategy, but just like in the regular Simulated Universe, not all Aeons are created equal.

1. The Hunt

First up, the Hunt Path is incredibly powerful because of the boosts you can get to CRIT Rate, CRIT Damage, and Speed. The boss can’t hurt you if you abuse the turn order and CRIT them to death in a few turns.

2. Nihility

Next, Nihility is an underrated but still busted Path if you’re using characters like Kafka. The Path Resonance can inflict DOTs on top of the DOTs that your team is capable of, and there are plenty of Nihility Blessings that heal your team or increase the damage taken by enemies based on DOT damage. Plus, Suspicion is an often overlooked debuff that comes with the Path of Nihility, and it can launch your DOT damage to the moon.

3. Abundance

Don’t overlook the Path of Abundance, either. It’s one of the best Paths in Simulated Universe for teams that need a little bit of help with harder content, so it’s perfect if you’re struggling here. Bring Bailu or Luocha and really reap the benefits of Abundance Blessings. Your team will be impossible to kill, and healing will boost more than just your team’s HP if you choose the right Blessings and Curios.

Use Mercy to your advantage and try to select domains with Mercy already applied. This way, you can build up as many Blessings as possible before the countdown ends. Good luck, trailblazer! You’ll need it.

Hogwarts Legacy: How to Catch a Thestral (Male vs. Female), Explained https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/hogwarts-legacy-how-to-catch-a-thestral-male-vs-female-explained/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/hogwarts-legacy-how-to-catch-a-thestral-male-vs-female-explained/#respond Mon, 15 Jan 2024 01:22:01 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=898703 The Foal of the Dead quest in Hogwarts Legacy introduces you to the adorable world of beast breeding. To complete the quest, you need to capture both a male and female Thestral. This guide details where to catch Thestrals and how to determine the gender of these fantastic beasts.

Male vs Female Thestral Differences in Hogwarts Legacy

In Hogwarts Legacy, you can tell if a Thestral is male or female by looking at the gender symbol next to their name at the top of the screen. Males will have an arrow pointing diagonally, while females will point straight down.

There are no physical differences between male and female Thestrals, so you’ll need to rely on glances at their name tag to find the gender you need. We’ve found that having at least one male and female for every beast is an excellent idea so that you can breed them for easy galleons or discover rare color variants.

How to Find and Catch a Thestral in Hogwarts Legacy

The best place to catch Thestrals in Hogwarts Legacy is the Thestral Den in the North Ford Bog region. Being timid creatures, you’ll need to get crafty to capture them.

Hogwarts-Legacy_20230213141511
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

We’ve found that the following method is perfect for catching Thestrals:

  • Use the Disillusionment Charm to cloak yourself
  • Freeze the Thestral with Glacius
  • Quickly use your Nab Sack to capture it

If you approach a Thestral too quickly, you’ll scare them off and cause them to fly away. They may look dark and sinister, but these steeds are sweet-natured and skittish. Unless you’re a unicorn — they hate unicorns.

How to Purchase the Breeding Pen Spellcraft in Hogwarts Legacy

The-Tomes-and-Scrolls-Shop-in-Hogsmeade
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Now that you’ve caught both a male and female Thestral, you need to purchase the Breeding Pen Spellcraft to complete the Foal of the Dead quest and unlock breeding.

The Breeding Pen Spellcraft is sold at Tomes and Scrolls in Hogsmeade Village for 1,000 Galleons. That’s the shop directly to the left as you enter the village from the South.

Now that you know how to differentiate between beasts’ genders in Hogwarts Legacy, you can go hunting and catch both a male and female of every beast for your Vivarium. You’ll need more space with all those babies — check out our guide on unlocking all Vivariums.

Best Places to Level Fast in WoW Classic Season of Discovery (SoD) https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/best-places-to-level-fast-in-wow-classic-season-of-discovery-sod/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/best-places-to-level-fast-in-wow-classic-season-of-discovery-sod/#respond Sun, 14 Jan 2024 04:48:02 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=978639 Runes certainly make things easier, but leveling up in World of Warcraft Classic: Season of Discovery is still a challenge. To get you endgame-ready, this guide highlights the best zones to level up fast for both Horde and Alliance characters in SoD.

Quick Tips for Fast Leveling in WoW Classic: Season of Discovery

If this isn’t your first character, purchasing bags and a green weapon for your new alt can significantly speed up the leveling process. A good weapon will allow you to kill mobs far faster during early levels, and having more inventory space means less time emptying and more time questing.

The-Barrens-Classic-WoW
Image: Blizzard Entertainment

Don’t forget that Dungeons also provide tons of XP and are the primary method of obtaining good gear. If you’re leveling an alt, Dungeon runs from Level 10~ onward are a brilliant leveling method, albeit somewhat repetitive.

If this is your first character, I recommend splitting your time between Dungeons and Questing to ensure you’re consistently earning gold and simultaneously leveling professions while out in the world. Don’t forget to pick up Cooking to fuel your mana and post-mob breaks.

Best Horde Zones for Leveling in WoW Season of Discovery

Level 1 – 10 — Starting Zone

WoW-Classic-SoD-Durotar
Image: Blizzard Entertainment

Until you reach Level 10, there’s no reason to diverge from your starting area and its containing zone. In Season of Discovery, every class has at least two Runes to collect at this stage, and many of the quests are designed to familiarize players with basic mechanics and important areas.

Level 10 – 25 — The Barrens (and Stonetalon Mountains)

Barrens-Classic-WoW-SoD
Image: Attack of the Fanboy, Wowpedia

Once you’re around Level 10, it’s time to head to The Barrens (Kalimdor). This zone is colossal — especially without a mount — but it’s also packed with quests that can take you all the way to Level 25. There’s also the luxury of being a Horde-controlled zone, meaning no Alliance can bother you. There’s nothing worse than being ganked by a gnome — trust me.

Related: Where to Find a Supply Officer for Waylaid Supplies in WoW Classic: Season of Discovery (SoD)

Combine questing in The Barrens with a few Wailing Caverns and Ragefire Chasm Dungeon runs, and leveling shouldn’t take too long. For a change of pace, you can also quest in the nearby Stonetalon Mountains from Level 16 to around Level 20.

If you can find a group, a trip to Ashenvale is a solid idea when approaching Level 25. There aren’t many quests you can pick up here, but the few you can pick up provide good XP. Additionally, participating in the Battle for Ashenvale event will earn you valuable reputation early.

Best Alliance Zones for Leveling in WoW Season of Discovery

Level 1 – 10 — Starting Zone

WoW-Classic-Chest
Image: Blizzard Entertainment

As is the case with the Horde, level through your starting area and its zone until you reach Level 10. There are Runes to grab for every class, and you’ll pick up some useful flight points to areas like Stormwind or Ironforge. Don’t forget to pick up some professions, too.

Level 10 – 20 — Darkshore or Westfall

Darkshore-Classic-WoW-SoD

At Level 10, questers should take a trip to Darkshore in Kalimdor. There are tons of quests all tightly packed close together here, making questing speedier than any other zone in this level bracket.

Westfall-WoW-Classic

Westfall is a solid option if you want to include Dungeons in your leveling experience. Not only does it have an abundance of quests, but the Deadmines and Stockades are both nearby. These fan-favorite dungeons are quick, easy, and perfect for fast leveling.

Level 20 – 25 — Ashenvale

While you can potentially reach Level 25 in Westfall or Darkshore, Ashenvale in Kalimdor has more XP-heavy quests for those last few levels. Furthermore, the Battle For Ashenvale public event will also net you easy XP and early reputation when it’s active.

Is Arena Mode Ever Coming Back to Fortnite? https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/is-arena-mode-ever-coming-back-to-fortnite/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/is-arena-mode-ever-coming-back-to-fortnite/#respond Fri, 12 Jan 2024 19:46:34 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=922242 After four years, Fortnite‘s Arena Mode is being discontinued in Update v24.40 and replaced with a new Ranked Mode. With this drastic change, players have been curious whether Arena will ever return to Fortnite or if this beloved competitive mode is gone for good.

Will Arena Come Back to Fortnite?

Arena is not coming back to Fortnite. Although it is said that hope never dies, it’s okay to let go this time. In a blog post announcing the future of competitive Fortnite, Epic Games announced that Ranked Play is completely replacing Arena on May 16, 2023.

“With the addition of Ranked, Arena will be discontinued in v24.40. The remaining tournaments for Battle Royale Chapter 4 Season 2 will not have a rank requirement for eligibility, except for the Console Champions Cup. Players will need to reach Platinum I rank or higher in Ranked Battle Royale to be eligible to compete in the Console Champions Cup on May 23.”

With Ranked Play designed as a complete overhaul of competitive Fortnite, it’s extremely unlikely that Fortnite’s Arena Mode will return. Future tournaments hosted by Epic will revolve around your rank, further supporting that Arena Mode is permanently gone.

If Arena’s unique balance changes were why you preferred playing, there’s no need to worry. Material is now capped at 500 instead of 999, and players will drop 50 of each material when eliminated across every Battle Royale game mode — including unranked matches.

What Happened to Late Game Arena in Fortnite?

Late Game Arena was removed at the start of Chapter 3: Season 4 due to numerous bugs and its failure to function as intended. This was likely because the game mode was introduced during the early stages of Creative Royale’s development. It was probably for the best.

Late Game Arena served as a competitive ranked game mode in Fortnite: Battle Royale, designed for Solo games and teams of three. Its purpose was to simulate a late-game match in a Tournament, initiating the game with The Storm already in its 4th phase. Fortnite has evolved and changed so much, and it has so much content to offer now, including a LEGO version of the game, that it’s easy to forget about Late Game Arena.

How Does Fortnite’s Ranked Mode Work?

Competitive-Fortnite-Ranks
Image: Epic Games

When Ranked Mode is toggled to On in the Lobby, you’ll see your current rank and a progress bar representing how close you are to increasing or lowering it.

How far your progress bar fills or diminishes will depend on how well you perform in a Ranked match. This is solely based on how many enemies your team eliminated and how high you placed in the match— a very similar system to Arena Points.

Enemies eliminated towards the end of a game and/or a higher rank than you will fill your progress further than regular eliminations. All team members will receive the same level of progress and depletion, so make sure you actually share good loot with your friends. We’re all item hogs here; we get it.

All Fortnite Ranks in Ranked Play

  • Bronze
  • Silver
  • Gold
  • Platinum
  • Diamond
  • Elite
  • Champion
  • Unreal

All ranks in Fortnite Ranked Play have three individual tiers, apart from Elite, Champion, and Unreal. After your first Ranked game of the season, you’ll be awarded a rank based on your performance in the previous season and your first match.

Players can also earn cosmetic rewards every season when playing Ranked mode, including the Burn Bright Emote that shows off your current rank. Overall, Ranked Play seems to be a much more rewarding and accessible version of Arena, with seemingly no negatives to being replaced.

How to Complete The ‘Slack Line’ Trophy After Beating Spider-Man 2 https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/how-to-complete-the-slack-line-trophy-after-beating-spider-man-2/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/how-to-complete-the-slack-line-trophy-after-beating-spider-man-2/#respond Wed, 10 Jan 2024 14:00:33 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=959187 The Slack Line Trophy in Spider-Man 2 is tricky to achieve once you’ve beaten the game, especially with 100% completion. With no way to replay missions, finding enemies for takedowns seems like an impossible task.

We’ve webbed this guide together to help you earn Slack Line in Spider-Man 2’s post-game.

How to Earn The ‘Slack Line’ Trophy in Spider-Man 2’s Post-Game

Web-Line-Hunter-Base-Spider-Man-2
Screenshot: Attack of the Fanboy

The Slack Line Trophy in Spider-Man 2 requires you to perform stealth takedowns on 25 enemies from a Web Line. This is best done during the story’s many stealth segments, though with no way to replay them (yet), we’re going to need to get creative.

If you’ve beaten Spider-Man 2 but haven’t tackled all its optional activities, then challenging Hunter Bases and Hunter Blinds as Miles is your best bet for completing the Spider-Man 2 Slack Line Trophy post-game. Hunter Bases, in particular, are rich with enemies and opportunities for Web Line takedowns. I have personally found that you can easily get above ten stealth takedowns at some of these bases like the Motorpool if you are careful with how you approach tackling them.

Earning ‘Slack Line’ With 100% Completion

For fellow 100% completionists, this will be a little trickier but still completely manageable. Firstly, switch your Challenge Level (difficulty) to Friendly Neighbourhood and switch to Miles. This allows you to quickly dispatch Symbiotes and stealth away to take down human foes.

Slack-Line-crime-Spider-Man-2
Screenshot: Attack of the Fanboy

Look for Crimes in the city involving human enemies, like Hunters. Far easier said than done, I know. Take down any Symbiotes involved, then turn invisible and jump to high ground. Set up a Web Line and carefully take out opponents below by pressing Square when they’re marked as Safe.

Web-Line-Double-Takedown-Spider-Man-2
Screenshot: Attack of the Fanboy

I highly recommend picking up Web Line Double Takedown from the Shared Skill Tree, as you can pick up two enemies simultaneously. That’s an extra takedown and far less chance of being spotted again.

How to Perform Stealth Takedowns from a Web Line in Spider-Man 2

Creating-a-Web-Line-Spider-Man-2
Screenshot: Attack of the Fanboy

To create a Web Line in Spider-Man 2, hold L2 while perched on the edge of a building or platform and press Triangle while pointing at a surface. For example, between two buildings or from a roof to a lamp post.

If you can’t get into a good spot for a takedown, you can use a Web Line as a starting point for another Web Line, just like a Spider would build its web. To perform a Stealth Takedown from a Web Line, press R3 to check if an enemy is Safe, then press Square when they’re in range.

If finding enough enemies to perform stealth takedowns on is proving too much — and I totally get why it would be — then you can always wait for the upcoming New Game Plus update.

Is Spider-Man 2 Easy to Platinum?

Is-Spider-Man-2-easy-to-platinum
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Yes, Spider-Man 2 is easier than a lot of games to platinum thanks to the fact that you can’t miss any of the trophies during your playthrough. This means that you will always be able to swing back through the city at any point and collect whichever trophies you still need to get. It won’t take you too long to platinum either, if you’re playing the game on and off for a week after the story completion, you should have the platinum in no time.

Getting this platinum trophy will be even easier now that you know how to get the Spider-Man 2 Slack Line trophy post-game much simpler.

How to Reset and Boost EVs With Mochi in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/how-to-reset-and-boost-evs-with-mochi-in-pokemon-scarlet-violet-ev-training/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/how-to-reset-and-boost-evs-with-mochi-in-pokemon-scarlet-violet-ev-training/#respond Mon, 08 Jan 2024 21:48:23 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=949088 Effort Values can significantly impact your Pokémon’s performance in competitive battles. EV training is now easier than ever with the introduction of mochi in Pokémon Scarlet/Violet’s The Teal Mask DLC.

This guide covers everything you need to know about mochi, including how to boost/reset EVs and reset mochi Pokemon.

How to Get Mochi in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: The Teal Mask

Mochi-Reward-Pokemon-Scarlet-Violet
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

To earn mochi in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you must participate in the Ogre Oustin’ outside Kitakami Hall. At the end of the minigame, you’ll earn a random assortment of mochi, depending on the difficulty and how well you performed. You can even earn a shiny Munchlax if you’re brave enough to complete its Hard difficulty.

Ogre-Oustin-Map-Pokemon-Scarlet-Violet
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Ogre Oustin’ is unlocked naturally as you progress through The Teal Mask, becoming available during the Kitakami Festival. There is no way to obtain mochi for players that don’t own the DLC — unless a DLC player trades a Pokémon holding it. So, you can either get the DLC if you don’t have it, or you can do what I did and find a great friend to train your Pokemon, and they can then trade it back to you.

How to Use Mochi to Train and Reset EVs

Mochi-EV-Trainign-Pokemon-Scarlet-Violet
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

EVs (Effort Values) are hidden values that affect your Pokémon’s stats. You’ll typically raise your Pokémon’s EVs through regular battles, with each defeated Pokémon granting an EV point in their best stat.

Every 4 EVs in a stat will permanently boost that stat by 1, up to a maximum of 255 EVs in a single stat. Pokémon can gain a total of 510 EVs across the board, so trainers generally focus on maxing out two stats.

Feeding mochi to a Pokémon increases its respective EV by 10 points, meaning you need 25 mochi to max out a Pokémon’s EVs in a single stat. We’ve listed each mochi below and the stat they affect below.

All Mochi in Pokémon Scarlet/Violet

  • Health Mochi — HP
  • Muscle Mochi — Attack
  • Resist Mochi — Defense
  • Genius Mochi — Special Attack
  • Clever Mochi — Special Defense
  • Swift Mochi — Speed
  • Fresh-Start Mochi — Resets all EVs

To use mochi, open your bag, navigate to the mochi you wish to use in the Other Items section, and then select Use this item. You’ll need the Pokémon you want to train in your party. The following section explains how to reset mochi Pokemon.

How to Reset EVs in Pokémon SV

Reset-EV-Mochi-Pokemon-Scarlet-Violet
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

The Fresh-Start Mochi (white) will completely reset a Pokémon’s EVs to zero. This item to reset mochi Pokemon is perfect for Pokémon you’ve already battled with and have a wild assortment of EVs in various stats. I found this Mochi to be one of the best in the game because, unlike the old method of herbs, this also doesn’t affect friendship!

Wondering what to use your mochi on? Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti are excellent choices to crush the trainers around Kitakami. Sinistcha looks incredibly promising for competitive players thanks to its signature Matcha Gotcha ability.

Other Ways to Raise EVs

Besides Mochis, players can raise EVs through training and other items, such as Vitamins. While Vitamins are expensive, they are worth noting as they can raise EVs by 10 points, which can quickly add up and make your Pokemon stronger than ever. Depending on the Vitamin, players can use them to increase HP, Attack, Defense, Speed, Special Attack, and Special Defense. You can purchase Vitamins from Chansey Supply Stores.

Best Boat Designs in LEGO Fortnite https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/best-boat-designs-in-lego-fortnite/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/best-boat-designs-in-lego-fortnite/#respond Tue, 02 Jan 2024 20:29:28 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=976422 Boats aren’t an official part of LEGO Fortnite (yet), but that hasn’t stopped the community from building some incredible boat designs. From colossal pirate ships in Sandbox worlds to fully sailable watercrafts, these are the best boat designs in LEGO Fortnite.

LEGO Fortnite: The Best Boat Designs

Steerable Small Boat

YouTube creator SnaXx discovered a clever way to make a small steerable boat in LEGO Fortnite. To build this boat in your world, follow their video or continue reading for step-by-step instructions.

LEGO-Fortnite-Boat-Part-1
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Step 1: Place down a Dynamic Foundation and add a Medieval Railing 01 in the exact positions shown in the screenshot above. While it looks like decoration, this is an essential part of the build that stops it from falling to pieces.

LEGO-Fortnite-Boat-Part-2
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Step 2: Add a Wood Foundation 02 to the middle of the Dynamic Foundation. Then, build Wood Foundation 06 on both sides.

LEGO-Fortnite-Boat-Part-3
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Step 3: Add Wood Foundation 02 to the top of the vertical foundations, as shown in the screenshot above.

LEGO-Fortnite-Boat-Part-4-1
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Step 4: Place Small Thrusters on the side of the Wood Foundation 02s as shown above.

LEGO-Fortnite-Boat-Part-4
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Step 5: Break the vertical Foundations and allow the Wood Foundation 02s to fall below with the Thrusters still attached. If one of these falls out of place, you need to build that part again.

Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Step 6: Add two Small Thrusters to the back of the ship. You can also add a flag if you’re feeling fancy.

LEGO-Fortnite-Boat-Part-7

Step 7: Place Activation Switches on the left and right of the ship’s hull. Place a third near the middle. Your boat is complete!

Push your boat into the water and flick the middle switch to go forward. You can then use the left switch to push the boat right and vice versa. It’s not as smooth as a steering stick would be, but it works!

GingerJay1991’s Pirate Ship

It may not sail, but /u/GingerJay1991’s Pirate Ship build is one of the best practical LEGO Fortnite designs I’ve seen so far. As you can see in the video above, this vessel not only looks gorgeous on the outside but has an exceptionally detailed interior.

Hoisted next to a dock by the sea, GingerJay1991’s ship features fully furnished rooms and intricately decorated walls and adornments. There’s even a literal “poop deck,” so to speak. My favorite feature is the treasure chest storage, and swords hung up on the entrance to the captain’s quarters.

Dare I say, this pirate ship may be better than any official LEGO pirate ship out there. Just don’t tell LEGO I said that. GingerJay said they plan to expand the build with flags next, which I can’t wait to see.

Large Simple Boat

Simple-Boat-Design-LEGO-Fortnite
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

You can’t steer this boat, but it is simple to make and customize. Simply place four Dynamic Foundations into a square, then place a fifth one on top. Add Small Balloons to each corner and then add Large Thrusters to the back. Last but not least, put the Activation Switch in the center.

Large-Boat-LEGO-Fortnite
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

As long as you have enough balloons to keep it afloat and thrusters to push it, you can make this boat as large as you like. After accidentally shooting myself out of the water, I also figured out this design works on land.

Try adding railings, flags, or other decorations to customize your boat. However, ensure you distribute the weight evenly to avoid any accidental sinking. Not that that’s ever happened to me, of course.

Roninlifts.fn’s Flying Ship

They fly now!? Somehow, TikToker @roninlifts.fn built a steerable flying pirate ship in Sandbox mode. Yes, seriously. You may not be able to make a fully steerable aquatic vehicle, but you can certainly make a flying one.

Roninlifts went above and beyond (literally) when crafting their design, adding details like the training deck, storage area, and captain’s cabin. The way they’ve designed the sails to appear as if the wind is propelling them is also a feature I adore.

Meanwhile, I can barely build myself a house. J.R. Waugh certainly can, though! Make sure to check his article on LEGO Fortnite house designs.

Should you set this poor soul free or leave them to their fate? This guide contains everything you need to know about the Webbed Victim and their link to the Endless Rage Rune in WoW Classic: SoD.

What Does the Webbed Victim Do in World of Warcraft Classic: Season of Discovery?

The Webbed Victim is used to unlock the Endless Rage Rune as a Horde Warrior in Season of Discovery. If you aren’t a Warrior, you can safely leave the Webbed Victim alone. The NPC that spawns when freed is hostile and won’t drop anything useful for other classes.

“Killing” the Webbed Victim will spawn a Lost Adventurer, a Level 16 Elite hostile mob. Defeating the Adventurer will drop the Rune of Endless Rage for Warriors. If you’re Level 16 or above, you’ll need the help of some fellow Warriors. If not, both mobs are a piece of cake!

For Horde Warriors wanting to get their hands on the Rune of Endless Rage in SoD without using the Barrens Method, you’ll need to head to Silverpine. The Webbed Victim is located inside the Skittering Dark Cave at the top of Silverpine Forest.

Webbed Victim is toward the end of the cave, which just so happens to be filled with spiders around Level 14. Bring a friend or group up if you’re below ~Level 19. I did my Horde duty by clearing out a path straight through for a lowbie Warrior passing by.

What Does Rune of Endless Rage Do?

Endless Rage: You generate 25% more Rage from all damage you deal.

Rune of Endless Rage is a Hands Rune that increases your Rage generation from damage dealt. As well as dropping from the Lost Adventurer, you can obtain this rune by swapping out the Alliance Warbanner in Northwatch Hold and killing Lieutenant Stonebrew. The method detailed in this guide is far easier to pull off, however.

Alliance Warriors can get their hands on Endless Rage through various Rare Elites in Westfall, Haren Swifthoof in Loch Modan, or Lady Sedorax in Darkshore.

While Cooking is primarily the same in SoD as it was in regular Classic, there are a few new recipes that make leveling the profession easier and more worthwhile. This guide covers the best way to level cooking from 1 to 300 in World of Warcraft Classic: Season of Discovery. Order up!

Best Ways to Level Cooking in World of Warcraft Classic: SoD

Food-WoW-Classic-SoD

Cooking 1 – 50

The early stages of Classic WoW Cooking largely revolve around using the meat naturally obtained from mobs in early leveling zones. If you’re also leveling Fishing, using the Raw Brilliant Smallfish and Raw Slitherskin Mackeral you catch is a brilliant way to feed two birds with one scone.

If wolves are in your starting zone, Spiced Wolf Meat is the best recipe for those ignoring Fishing. Because they’re required for a specific Waylaid Supplies crate, Spiced Wolf Meat will sell for decent change at the Auction House.

Make around 55 – 60 of any combination of the below recipes:

ItemIngredientsRecipe Location

Journeyman Cooking 50 – 100

Once you reach 50 Cooking, talk to your Trainer to learn Journeyman Cooking. As you level, look for bears, crawlers, and coyotes for their meat. Remember to open clams dropped by aquatic mobs like Naga in Ashenvale for Clam Meat.

For anglers, you need to catch Longjaw Mud Snappers and Rainbow Fin Albacore. On my server, Longjaw Mud Snappers were incredibly cheap on the Auction House and saved me a lot of time. Make sure to always check fish prices!

Cook around 55 – 75 of any combination of the below recipes:

Journeyman Cooking 100 – 150

The max Skill Level for Cooking in Season of Discovery is 150. Combined with the Level 25 cap, the typical recipes used for leveling in WoW Classic are either unavailable or inefficient.

If fish are cheap on your server or you’re leveling Fishing, Bristle Whisker Catfish is another fantastic recipe to level Cooking with. From 130 onward, Curiously Tasty Omelet can take you to the last few points you need.

Cook any of the following recipes from 100 – 150:

The best food for many classes in WoW Classic: Season of Discovery is Heavy Crocolisk Stew, which gives the player an 8 Stamina and Spirit buff for 15 minutes. Unfortunately, this recipe is only sold by a Horde vendor in Dustwallow Marsh. If you’re Alliance, better hope a member of the Horde has listed one on the Neutral Action House.

Thistle Tea will be familiar to all Rogues who have previously played Classic WoW. As a class-exclusive recipe, Thistle Tea instantly restores Energy when drunk. The Energy restored will reduce as you level up in future phases, so use this while you can!

Smoked Sagefish is the best fish recipe in the first phase of Season of Discovery due to its mana recovery. For plain ‘ol health regeneration, you can stock up on Bristle Whisker Catfish from earlier.

Be sure to check back in future phases to continue your World of Warcraft Classic Cooking journey! For now, check out our tag page for more Season of Discovery articles.

Official Five Nights at Freddy’s Roblox Experience Taken Down Two Hours After Release https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/official-five-nights-at-freddys-roblox-experience-taken-down-two-hours-after-release-fnaf-survival-crew/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/official-five-nights-at-freddys-roblox-experience-taken-down-two-hours-after-release-fnaf-survival-crew/#respond Thu, 21 Dec 2023 19:31:23 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=975605 Roblox and Five Nights at Freddy’s both have an abnormal target audience of children and teens who gobble up horror like a box of Lucky Charms when mom isn’t home.

With masses of fan experiences and cosmetics already available, an official FNAF Roblox title should be a combination as sensational as chocolate and peanut butter, right? Sure! — if you have a peanut allergy.

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Survival Crew was an officially licensed Roblox experience developed by ‘Metaverse Team Frights.’ Just two hours after its beta officially launched on the platform, the experience was taken down, with series creator Scott Cawthon taking to Reddit to explain that the game was not meant for release.

The fact that [Five Nights at Freddy’s: Survival Crew] released today is one of the most baffling, insane, things to ever happen in my ten years of working on FNAF,” Cawthon writes in a comment on the official Five Nights at Freddy’s Subreddit. “This game is in it’s [sic] infancy; temp assets; temp gameplay, unfinished everything.

As for an explanation of why the experience was ever available, Cawthon writes, “Apparently, there was a huge misunderstanding when I approved a game, and it was interpreted as RELEASE THE GAME.” Later in the comment, Cawthon reiterates, “[Five Nights at Freddy’s Survival Crew] was a game in its testing phases and was in no way ready to be released to the public.

FNaF-Roblox-Discord
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Prior to Scott’s explanation, a developer for Five Nights at Freddy’s: Survival Crew posted the following message into the official Discord: “Thank you all for your feedback & for playing the game – we really value the feedback from the community! We’ll be taking it down for a few weeks to plan for our next beta test and come back better for round two. All purchased items will be available at that time again. More to come soon!

Related: Every YouTuber in the Five Nights at Freddy’s Movie: All Confirmed FNAF Cameos

I joined the Discord server to learn more information on the developers’ plans going forward, only to be met with a stream of users posting images of a naked man, along with links to explicit animations, and the level of conversation expected from an unmoderated FNAF chat. Delightful.

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Survival Crew Gameplay

Roblox-Five-Nights-at-Freddys-Survival-Crew
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

I also had the pleasure of playing Five Nights at Freddy’s: Survival Crew before its delisting. My longest game consisted heavily of a T-posing Freddy Fazbear spinning in circles while we set him on fire. As Cawthon mentioned, the game is undoubtedly in the early stages of development, with poor sound effects, questionable visuals, and messy gameplay.

When the experience worked, Survival Crew’s concept was similar to Dead by Daylight’s, with one player controlling an animatronic tasked with hunting down the other players and placing them in Springlock Suits.

Players who fail the Springlock minigame will switch sides and become animatronics themselves. To win, the ‘night crew’ must activate five panels. The night crew can also use consumables to better their odds against Freddy and his gang of identically modeled Spring Bonnies.

Gold-Freddy-Purchase-Five-Nights-at-Freddys-Survival-Crew
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Like most Roblox experiences, Five Nights at Freddy’s: Survival Crew featured microtransactions purchasable with Robux, Roblox’s premium currency. Animatronic players only had access to Freddy, with Bonnie, Chica, Foxy, and various cosmetic skins locked behind a paywall.

Given the circumstances, Survival Crew may officially launch with a different monetization system. However, players unfortunate enough to have splashed some cash on Survival Crew during its short lifespan are now missing their in-game goodies until the game goes live once again. If it does at all.

You must beat The Indigo Disk’s main story before you can catch and encounter any Legendary Pokémon. You can, however, transfer them from Pokémon Home into Scarlet/Violet if you already own any.

Once you’ve beaten the DLC and blessed your ears with the Ed Sheeran x Toby Fox remix, you’ll wake up in Blueberry Academy. Make your way to the Entrance and talk to Snacksworth.

For every ten Solo Blueberry Quests (BBQs) or one Group BBQ completed, he’ll hand you a Treat for a random Legendary Pokémon. Some Pokémon Treats can only be obtained through Solo Quests, while others require a Group Quest completion, depending on if you have Scarlet or Violet.

Once you have the Treat for the Legendary Pokémon you want — for example, a Latios Treat — you can visit the location Snacksworth mentions and catch them. Sorry fellow shiny hunters, all Legendary Pokémon in The Indigo Disk are shiny locked.

This guide details where to find an Alolan Pokemon, what to look out for, and the easiest way to catch one.

Where to Find an Alolan Pokémon in Pokémon SV Indigo Disk DLC

  • Alolan-Pokemon-Location-SV-Indigo-Disk
  • Alolan-Exeggutor-Location-Pokemon-SV-Indigo-Disk

Some easy Alolan Pokémon to bring back to class are Alolan Grimer and Alolan Muk. These can be found loafing around grassy areas in the Coastal Biome. The best spot I found was on a grassy knoll looking over the beach area southwest of the classroom.

Alternatively, you can try to catch Alolan Exeggutor, who are hanging out north of the class and on the beach to the south. Remember, Exeggcute and Kantonian Exeggutor don’t count! That’s three Alolan Pokémon in one little area; Indigo Disk is really treating us.

Alolan-Exeggutor-Pokemon-Scarlet-Violet-Indigo-Disk

Alolan Grimer has the highest catch rate, but Alolan Muk and Exeggutor can make good teammates if you’re searching for new additions. If you already have the regular version of the Pokémon registered in your PokéDex, use a Repeat Ball for the highest chance to capture one.

If you don’t have the Pokémon registered, use a Quick Ball on your first turn and an Ultra Ball on subsequent turns if unsuccessful. Once you’ve caught the Alolan Pokémon, bring it back to class to complete your objective and unlock the Blueberry Quests feature.

What is an Alolan Pokémon?

Regional variants are variants of Pokemon introduced in (and often native to) a particular region. Alolan Pokémon are regional Pokémon from, you guessed it, the Alola region. That’s where Pokémon (Ultra) Sun and (Ultra) Moon take place.

Regional Pokémon are considered the same species as their usual counterparts and share the same Pokédex entry. They typically have different typing, which is the case for Alolan Grimer, who is a Poison/Dark-type rather than pure Poison-type.

Pokémon Scarlet & Violet: Indigo Disk has a range of regional Pokémon to catch in Blueberry Academy’s Terrarium. No need to dust off your old cartridges or book a trip to another region. A return to Alola does sound intriguing, though.

What to Do if Your Village is ‘Too Crowded’ in LEGO Fortnite https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/what-to-do-if-your-village-is-too-crowded-in-lego-fortnite/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/what-to-do-if-your-village-is-too-crowded-in-lego-fortnite/#respond Wed, 13 Dec 2023 20:50:23 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=972849 Recruiting villagers into your Village is the key to success in LEGO Fortnite — but what should you do if they won’t join you? This guide explains exactly what to do if your Village is too crowded in LEGO Fortnite and how to unlock more space for villagers.

How to Make Room in Your Village for Villagers in LEGO Fortnite

If a character in LEGO Fortnite says, “It seems your Village is too crowded for me to live there,” it means that you have no open Villager slots. To increase Village capacity, you need to upgrade your Village Level.

Village-full-LEGO-Fortnite
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Every time you upgrade your Village Level in LEGO Fortnite, you unlock various rewards, which can be seen by interacting with your Village Square. Some levels will unlock a new villager slot, up to a maximum of five villagers in a Level 10 Village.

You unlock a new villager slot at the following levels:

  • Level 1
  • Level 3
  • Level 5
  • Level 8
  • Level 10

If you need to free up a slot, you can dismiss Villagers by breaking their beds and any spare beds they can sneak into. It will take a few in-game days before they leave your Village, however, so you can’t kick them out as soon as your favorite character decides to turn up.

How to Upgrade A Village in LEGO Fortnite

Village-Upgrade-LEGO-Fortnite
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

To upgrade a Village in LEGO Fortnite, interact with your Village Square and navigate to the Upgrade Village tab. Here, you will see the requirements to upgrade your Village and unlock the next rewards.

Every Village Upgrade requires you to improve your Village Rating to a certain degree, which you can do by adding utility stations, buildings, and furniture to your Village. You can make it look fancy or spam-build houses — it’s up to you.

LEGO-Fortnite-Villagers
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Anyone in your world can upgrade your Village, so feel free to bug your friends into helping out. The Key Holder feature, which allows friends to play in your world while you’re offline, is extremely handy for this. If you can trust them.

If you’re full, don’t forget you can build multiple Villages in LEGO Fortnite. Constructing Villages in different biomes can be a great way to safely explore harsher environments, such as ones with extreme temperatures.

Is It Possible to Farm Animals in Your LEGO Fortnite Village?

No, you unfortunately will not be able to farm animals in LEGO Fortnite (at least for the time being) in any form. You are not able to keep animals held for any extended periods either in a village as eventually, they will despawn when you are far enough away. You will instead just need to appreciate the animals as they move on by wherever you are or gain their appreciation in the usual ways.

Related: Can You Tame Wolves in LEGO Fortnite? Answered

Now that you know how to increase villager numbers in LEGO Fortnite you will at least have no problem making your village even more lively anyways. Even if you don’t have a lot of animals around which I know will be a shame.

This guide details the location of every Starcat in Destiny 2: Season of The Wish.

How to Find All of The Queen’s Visitors (Starcats) in Destiny 2

There are fourteen total Starcats to “collect” in Destiny 2: Season of the Wish. New kitties are released each week, meaning the Familiar Felines Triumph, which is needed for the Wishbearer Title, should be achievable late into the season.

To unlock each Starcat’s Triumph and work on Familiar Felines, walk up to it and hold the button shown on-screen to “present a gift.” Unlike the cat statues in Forsaken, you don’t seem to need the “small gift” item or anything similar.

The first Starcat is going to take a little bit of luck to find. Launch the Riven’s Lair activity through the H.E.L.M. and keep your fingers crossed that you come across the Garden of Plenty path during your run.

In Garden of Plenty, run along the left side and toward the white stairs in the distance. Just before the stairs, turn left and walk toward the edge as shown in the second screenshot. The Garden of Plenty Starcat is sitting right next to the edge. Watch your step!

Open The Dreaming City in the Destinations tab and select The Blind Well. Run straight forward and toward the colossal door at the far side of the room to find the Blind Well Starcat sitting in front of it. Someone let him in so he can walk in for two seconds and then straight back out.

In the Riven’s Lair activity, the Temple of the Queen’s Wrath is one of many pathways randomly selected. As soon as you’re transported to this pathway, run into the first archway on the right. The Starcat is sitting against the wall. There have been reports that you can get this during the Week 2 mission, though we haven’t been able to confirm.

Getting Temple of the Queen’s Wrath in Riven’s Lair took me around four hours. The pathway you encounter is entirely random, so it could take one or one hundred runs to come across. Make sure to check the current pathway rotation for Coil, which has four static pathways every week.

The easiest way to get this Starcat is during the Enthymeme mission in Week 3 of the seasonal quest line. As soon as you enter the Gnashing Chamber, go to the white table to find a Starcat sat next to a state of itself. Adorable.

If you’ve already completed Enthymeme, you will need to try your luck in Riven’s Lair until you come across the Gnashing Chamber pathway. That, or you could scout for Guardians who have yet to complete the mission.

While praying should come naturally to the faithful, many Priests are struggling with this quest due to an annoying bug. Here’s everything you need to know about Sharing the Faith.

Is Sharing the Faith Bugged in WoW Classic: SoD?

To complete Sharing the Faith, the player needs to /pray on the kneeling Supplicant while under the effect of their race’s Mediation buff. Unfortunately, a bug is causing the Supplicant to stand up for many players. I guess they don’t fancy getting their robe dirty?

You can’t complete Sharing the Faith if the Supplicant is standing. If your quest is bugged, switching to a different layer can sometimes fix it. You can do this by joining a player’s group on a different layer from you.

Supplicant-Not-kneeling-WoW-Classic-SoD
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

You can also decide to skip the quest entirely. Sharing the Faith simply serves as a tutorial for giving other players your race’s mediation buff and only rewards a tiny chunk of change and EXP. There are, thankfully, no Runes attached to this quest.

If the Supplicant is kneeling and you still can’t finish the quest, keep reading to find out exactly how to complete Sharing the Faith in Season of Discovery.

Supplicant-WoW-Classic-SoD

If the Supplicant is kneeling, you need to target them and type /pray into the chatbox under the relevant Mediation buff. Every race has a Meditation buff tied to their faith that’s acquired by /kneeling next to a particular object.

Mediation buffs last four hours, so there’s no rush to get back to the Supplicant. Unless they decide to stand up in the meantime, that is. You can also bestow this buff on kneeling players by using /pray, which can save time when trying to learn new Runes.

Creating a Sandbox world is also the objective of the “Try LEGO Fortnite!” quests, which all reward a free level-up.

Whether you’re looking to dive straight into a building or earn an easy level-up, this guide explains how to create and play in a Sandbox world in LEGO Fortnite.

  • Select Create New World and choose a New World Slot
  • Change the Game Mode from Survival to Sandbox
  • Select Start and jump in!

You can save up to ten worlds in LEGO Fortnite, so don’t worry about overriding your current progress. The “Create and Play in a Sandbox World” quest will complete as soon as you load into your new Sandbox world.

What is a LEGO Fortnite Sandbox World?

Sandbox worlds in LEGO Fortnite are remarkably similar to Minecraft’s Creative mode. In Sandbox worlds, you have access to every crafting schematic, unlimited resources and items, and the ability to fly by double-tapping the jump button.

LEGO-Fortnite-Sandbox-World
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Like Survival, you can choose between pre-sets or designing your own builds from scratch using individual LEGO bricks and assets. Anyone who knows me would tell you not to let me loose in a LEGO store, so my wallet is personally thanking both LEGO and Epic for this feature. It’s far cheaper than buying individual bricks, let me tell you.

You can even assign friends as Key Holders, allowing them to build in your world while offline. Something Minecraft is severely lacking if you don’t want to go through the hassle (and cost) of running a Server.

Can You Switch Sandbox Worlds to Creative Worlds?

We know what you were thinking, but you can’t build a base in Sandbox and then cheekily switch over to Survival. Once a world mode has been selected in LEGO Fortnite, it can’t be changed. Choose carefully.

Where to Find the Metamorphosis Rune (Warlock Tank) in WoW Season of Discovery https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/where-to-find-the-metamorphosis-rune-warlock-tank-in-wow-season-of-discovery/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/where-to-find-the-metamorphosis-rune-warlock-tank-in-wow-season-of-discovery/#respond Wed, 06 Dec 2023 16:50:29 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=971614 After days of exploration and hard work, the Metamorphosis Rune in World of Warcraft Classic: Season of Discovery has finally been found. For the first time, Warlocks can now officially Tank — and I don’t mean using a Voidwalker while waiting for the real Tank.

This guide aims to help you throughout the arduous but rewarding process of obtaining the Metamorphosis Rune in WoW Classic: SoD and unlocking the ability to Tank as a Warlock. Grab your walking boots because you’ll be taking a tour of Azeroth.

How to Find the Metamorphosis Warlock Tank Rune in World of Warcraft Classic: Season of Discovery

Before we begin our journey into demonic transformation, it’s important to acknowledge the Warlock community’s tireless effort to discover SoD’s trickiest Rune. Snutzy was the first content creator to find the Metamorphosis Rune, and you can watch that magical moment here.

Step 1 – Orb of Des and Bough of Atek Locations

The first step in obtaining the Metamorphosis Warlock Rune is collecting the Orb of Des and Bough of Atek, hidden in Redridge Mountains and Darkshore, respectively.

Orb of Des Location

Orb-of-Des-Location-World-of-Warcraft-Classic-SoD

The Orb of Des is located at the top of the Tower of Ilgalar in Redridge Mountains. Redridge is a contested zone, so be careful if you’re a Horde player on a PvP server like myself.

Bough of Atek Location

Bough-of-Altek-Location-WoW-SoD
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

The Bough of Atek is at the top of the Tower of Althalaxx in Darkshore. This area has Level 29 – 30 mobs, so you’ll need to bring a few buddies for help.

Step 2 – The Orb of Soran’ruk

The-Orb-of-Soranruk-WoW-SoD
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Head to The Barrens and find Doan Karhan at (49, 57) to start The Orb of Soran’ruk quest. This isn’t a new quest, but it is required to obtain the Metamorphosis Rune. Doan asks you to collect three Soran’ruk Fragments and one Large Soran’ruk Fragment.

  • Soran’ruk Fragments drop from Twilight Acolytes outside Blackfathom Deeps
  • Large Soran’ruk Fragment drops from Shadowfang Darksoul in Shadowfang Keep

Prior to a patch on December 4, players had to enter the new Level 25 Blackfathom Deeps raid to collect fragments. Thankfully, you can now find the mobs needed on The Zoram Strand near the raid entrance.

Step 3 – The Conjuring

The-Conjuring-Blood-of-the-Legion-Location-WoW-Classic-Season-of-Discovery
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Following the completion of The Orb of Soran’ruk, Doan will offer a follow-up quest brand new to Season of Discovery: The Conjuring. This quest requires you to collect ten Blood of the Legion and perform a ritual.

  • Slay demons in the area of Ashenvale shown in the map above.
  • Loot ten Blood of the Legion from the demons.
  • Stand on the nearby summoning circle and use Drain Soul on the incoming demons.
  • Land the killing blow on the Searing Infernal to receive the Mysterious Traveler quest.

I highly recommend forming a party of fellow Warlocks to survive here — but remember that you won’t be able to complete the quest while in a raid group.

Related: Where to Find a Supply Officer for Waylaid Supplies in WoW Classic: Season of Discovery (SoD)

Step 4 – Mysterious Traveler

Warlock-Tank-WoW-SoD
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Return to Doan Karhan in The Barrens and hand in the Mysterious Traveler quest to receive the Rune of Metamorphosis! Congratulations, Warlock — you can now Tank and look damn good while doing it.

Metamorphosis is a Glove Rune that shapeshifts you into a (semi-)permanent demon form. While in demon form, your Armor and Threat are increased, and you gain the following benefits!

Metamorphosis Effects in WoW SoD

  • Armor increased by 500%
  • Chance to be critically hit reduced by 6%
  • Threat increased by 50%
  • Mana gained from Life Tap increased by 100%
  • Searing Pain is now instant
  • Shadow Bolt becomes Shadow Cleave — A melee cleave attack with a six-second cooldown
  • Gain the Demon Charge Spell — “Charge an enemy and stun it for 1 sec. Cannot be used in combat”
  • Gain the Demonic Howl Spell — “Forces all nearby enemies to focus attacks on you for 6 sec”

How to Catch the Train in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1

Train-Icon-Fortnite

Train-Fortnite

You can board the train by jumping onto the side or mantling to the roof and hopping down. This train has no brakes, so you’ll need to plan ahead or catch up using movement items to board. I may have crashed once or twice (as seen in the screenshot above), but I managed to eventually board using a nearby car.

To tick off the ‘Complete a Train Heist’ objective of the Weekly Quest, you must loot the cache at the front of the train. The cache works similarly to Combat Caches, in which you activate the cache and wait for the timer to deplete as you stand within range.

If you’ve managed to defend the cache without accidentally riding into the storm or being sniped, you’ll receive the loot inside. This guide explains precisely what these yellow circles are for and what to do if you see one nearby.

What Are The Yellow Circles For on the Fortnite Map and Minimap?

The large yellow circles on the Fortnite map indicate the location of players holding a Society Medallion. These are new items that don’t take up an inventory slot and passively heal their holder’s health and shields.

Fortnite-Yellow-Circle-Map
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Since Society Medallions are ridiculously powerful, the location of any player holding one will always be shown on the map as a yellow circle. You can use this glaring signal to either run away from them or eliminate them and steal their Society Medallion for yourself.

The yellow circle becomes smaller the more Society Medallions a player holds — improving their health and shield regeneration but giving away their location even more. You can heal, but you can’t hide.

In my experience, it’s always worth picking up at least one Society Medallion. Even a single Medallion has impressively fast regeneration that can mean the difference between life and elimination. I owe my first Victory Royale of the season to it.

What are Waylaid Supplies in WoW Classic SoD?

Waylaid Supplies are items obtained randomly from chests and dead enemies in World of Warcraft Classic: Season of Discovery. These can be handed to Supply Officers in capital cities in exchange for Silver and Durotar Supply and Logistics (Horde) or Azeroth Commerce Society (Alliance) reputation.

Increasing your Durotar Supply and Logistics or Azeroth Commerce Society reputation will unlock a purchasable 10-slot bag and Uncommon armor at Friendly, and exclusive Runes at Honored.

You can either hand Waylaid Supplies in as they are for or combine them with the item in their name for extra money and reputation. You can also only hold one at a time, so try and hand them in as often as possible.

What Do Odd Melons Do in WoW Classic: Season of Discovery (SoD)? https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/what-do-odd-melons-do-in-wow-classic-season-of-discovery-sod/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/what-do-odd-melons-do-in-wow-classic-season-of-discovery-sod/#respond Sat, 02 Dec 2023 02:37:43 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=970783 Come across an Odd Melon in World of Warcraft Classic: Season of Discovery and don’t know what to do? You’ve come to the right place.

These mysterious melons hold the secret to unlocking the Enlightenment talent for Mages, and this guide explains precisely where to find Odd Melons and what to do with them.

How to Use Odd Melon to Unlock Enlightenment Mage Rune in WoW: Season of Discovery

Odd Melon is an NPC found in farmlands across Tirisfal in World of Warcraft Classic: Season of Discovery. Rather than a delicious fruit, these melons are polymorphed Undead, which I presume aren’t particularly delicious.

Using the Polymorph spell on an Odd Melon will reverse the effects, freeing an Undead sorcerer that leaves behind Apocethary Notes. You need to do this a total of six times to retrieve six notes, which can then be combined to create Spell Notes: Enlightenment.

Enlightenment is a Chest Rune with the following effect: “You deal 10% more damage while you have more than 70% mana. While below 30 mana 10% of your mana regeration continues while casting.”

Odd Melons are only useful to Mages and can be safely ignored by any other class. You can “kill” them, but the only purpose that serves is to mildly inconvenience the nearest mage. They drop no loot and probably send the Undead inside directly to the Shadowlands. You monster.

Odd Melons are found in farmlands in Tirisfal, the first region you visit as an Undead. If you’ve ventured into Kalimdor already, you can visit Tirisfal by taking the zeppelin to Undercity at the zeppelin tower outside Orgrimmar.

For Alliance mages, Enlightenment is learned by Polymorphing creatures with the ‘Wild Polymorph’ debuff, such as Fire Beetles and Gazelles, in Elywnn Forest

How to Learn Polymorph as a Mage in World of Warcraft: SoD

In World of Warcraft Classic, Mages can learn Polymorph at level 8 from any Mage trainer. Polymorph is an incredibly useful spell that turns an enemy into a harmless sheep that can’t do damage until the effect wears off or someone attacks it.

This guide explains exactly where to hand them in and how to trade them to learn Devastate as a Warrior.

In WoW: Season of Discovery, severed monster heads can be given to <Monster Hunter> NPCs in exchange for Monster Hunter’s Rune Fragments. Combining three of these fragments will create the Rune of Devastate, giving warriors the Devastate ability originally added in Wrath of the Lich King.

For Troll and fellow Orc Warriors, you can hand in the Severed Centaur Head, Severed Quilboar Head, and Severed Harpy Head to Vahi Bonesplitter in Razor Hill.

For Tauren Warriors, hand your severed monster heads to Vateya Timberhoof in Bloodhoof Village. You don’t have to hand in all three heads at once, so feel free to visit Vateya or Vahi whenever your bag is a little too full.

How to Get Rune of Devastate in WoW Classic: SoD

To get the Rune of Devastate in Season of Discovery as an Orc, Troll, or Tauren Warrior, you need a Severed Harpy Head, a Severed Quilboar Head, and a Severed Centaur Head. These drop from the respective monsters, which you’ll naturally come across while questing in Durotar for Trolls and Orcs, and Mulgore for Tauren.

Each head will give you a Monster Hunter’s Rune Fragment. Once you have the First, Second, and Third, right-click one in your bag to combine them into the Devastate Rune.

Devastate is a Hands enchantment with the following description: “When you are in Defensive Stance and have a shield equipped, Sunder Armor also deals 60% weapon damage, increased by 6% per application of Sunder Armor already on the target.”

Related: Where to Find All Warrior Runes in WoW Season of Discovery (SoD)

Devastate was originally added as a Protection Warrior spell in Wrath of the Lich King that essentially replaced Sunder Armor. In Season of Discovery, this instead enhances it and provides a similar effect that it did in the good ‘ol (new?) days of Wrath.

Best Cook Build in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Skill Tree, Perks, and Attributes https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/best-cook-build-in-the-texas-chainsaw-massacre-skill-tree-perks-attributes-tcsm/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/best-cook-build-in-the-texas-chainsaw-massacre-skill-tree-perks-attributes-tcsm/#respond Thu, 30 Nov 2023 05:27:55 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=940513 Join us as we pick apart Cook’s Abilities, Perks, and Skill Tree to create the best build for Cook in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.

A stumbling, caustic old man doesn’t sound like a go-to choice in a game about chasing and killing, but with the right loadout, Cook can be one of the most valuable characters in TCSM.

The Best Loadout for Cook in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre

Best-Cook-Loadout-The-Texas-Chain-Saw-Massacre
Image: Attack of the Fanboy, Gun Interactive

This build focuses on improving Cook’s speed and endurance while maximizing his Padlock and Seek abilities. Few things are more terrifying than a speedy Cook who can hear your every move and lock up crucial doors.

Table of Contents

Best Cook Skill Tree Path

  • TCSM-Cook-Skill-Tree-1
  • TCSM-Cook-Skill-Tree-2
  • TCSM-Cook-Skill-Tree-3

From the beginning of Cook’s Skill Tree, choose the top path and learn every Skill and Attribute until the first Branched Path.

At this Branched Path, select the Right path, learn everything, and reach another Branched Path. Turn Left here and learn all of the remaining nodes.

Best Cook Seek Abilities in TCSM

  • Level 1 — Increase Detection Range
  • Level 2 — Increase Detection Range
  • Level 3 — All Family See Noise

With the All Family See Noise upgrade, Cook’s Seek ability becomes one of the most useful in the entire game. Any Victims highlighted by Seek are highlighted for the whole Family, which is especially useful when you don’t have access to voice comms. That, or you’re terrible at pointing out locations, like me.

Increase Detection Range at Levels 1 and 2 buff your detection range by a considerable amount, making All Family See Noise that much more powerful.

These upgrades, paired with the Perks in this build and his Padlock ability, make Cook one of the most useful Family members in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.

Best Cook Perks and Grandpa Ability

  • Security Pins
  • Unrelenting
  • Scout
  • Barge to the Point or Exterior Alarms (Grandpa Ability)

Security Pins is an outstanding Perk and entirely unique to Cook. At Level 3, this makes Cook’s padlocks 50% harder to unlock. At higher levels, this is damn near essential for Gas Station and working around sneaky Level 10 Victims.

Cook’s main weakness is how utterly slow and sluggish he is. Unrelenting and Scout speed up our feeble friend and boosts his stamina for running around the map, keeping up with Victims, and swinging at ’em.

For Cook’s Grandpa Ability, I typically go for either Barge to the Point or Exterior Alarms, depending on the rest of the Family’s choices.

Barge to the Point will always open a door on the first attempt when blocked by a Victim. While you won’t get use out of this every game, you’ll definitely be thankful for it when it comes into play. On the other hand, Exterior Alarms is always helpful in tracking players trying to escape, highlighting them for a few seconds.

Best Cook Attribute Point Allocation

  • 43 Savagery
  • 36 Endurance

Pop some points into both Savagery and Endurance. Combined with the Perks used in this guide, you’ll notice just how zippy Cook becomes compared to his usual self.

Increasing Cook’s Savagery helps with his time-to-kill, which is typically lower than other Family members. You can only get so far with a broken broom handle.

You won’t always be able to choose Cook in every match of the Texas Chain Saw Massacre; sometimes, you’ll have to (literally) be the bigger cannibal and choose Leatherface. Check out our Leatherface build guide so you’re never unprepared, unlike those dang kids.

Alternative Cook Builds

Here are two alternative builds for Cook that you might find interesting:

  • Stealthy Cook: Instead of being aggressive, we’re going to focus on locating the cook’s victims without alerting them.
    • Vial-ent: Your damage is increased when carrying a full blood vial.
    • Big Swings: Attack damage is increased by 10% but stamina consumption tied to attacks is 300% more costly.
    • Prey Dive: Spotting a Victim increases stamina recharge for 5 seconds
  • Endurance Cook: This build focuses on Endurance so the cook can spend more time chasing his victims:
    • Unrelanting: You have increased endurance.
    • Scout: Your movement speed is increased, but melee damage is reduced.
    • Security Pins: Added Locks are harder to unlock for Victims.

Best Milsim Skins and Operators in Modern Warfare 3 https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/best-milsim-skins-and-operators-in-modern-warfare-3/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/best-milsim-skins-and-operators-in-modern-warfare-3/#respond Tue, 28 Nov 2023 16:56:23 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=968898 Nicki Minaj and Ash Williams are all well and good, but sometimes it’s nice to return to CoD’s traditional military aesthetic. “Mil-sim” or “Milsim” operators refer to both default Operators and ones with a classic military look.

This article looks at the best free and premium Milsim skins and operators in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. From extra styles for default operators to the best Store skins, we’ve got your six.

Best Free Milsim Skins and Operators in MW3

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 features a total of six free Mil-Sim operators, with two returning from MW2. There are also plenty of unlockable operators earned by completing campaign missions and tasks in multiplayer matches.

SpecGru and Kortac

  • Specgru-MW3
  • Kortac-MW3

SpecGru and Kortac are the creatively named default operators for their respective factions. Both come with four free skins that match preset loadouts for extra immersion. If all you need is a basic military operator, you can’t go wrong with the default look.

Interestingly enough, SpecGru’s name was actually “Mil-Sim” until the launch of MW2 Season Five. There have also been plenty of limited-time skins for both operators, including stealth and snow variants.

Blueprint and Rocket — US Military

  • Blueprint-MW3
  • Rocket-MW3

Blueprint and Rocket are the free SpecGru operators in Modern Warfare 3. Both are US military operators, spouting more military slang than you can shake a stick at. In fact, Rocket shares the same voice lines with SpecGru, so you’ll feel right at home if you were a MW2 player.

Potshot-and-Scarecrow-MW3
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Blueprint has a free “Potshot” skin, while Rocket gets “Scarecrow.” Both are perfect for Warzone or Zombies, with a more tactical look and gas mask strapped to their waists.

Blaze and Thirst — Private Military

  • Blaze-MW3
  • Thirst-MW3

Blaze and Thirst are the free Kortac operators in MW3, inspired by (or possibly identical to) enemies fought in the campaign. These ops sport darker gear to differentiate from SpecGru’s soldiers and don’t feature any specific flag on their outfits.

Reck-and-Rasp-MW3
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Thirst swaps out his balaclava and coat for a traditional Kortac uniform in his free “Rasp” skin, while Blaze sports a cap and smaller tactical vest in “Wreck.” If you’re looking for a private military look, Blaze and Thirst are perfect free operators to get you started.

Byline — Night Vision Army Ranger

Byline-MW3
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

For nighttime operations, there’s Isa “Byline” Juarez. Byline comes equipped with night vision goggles and various tactical equipment strapped around her torso. You can unlock her by earning three SMG hipfire kills in a single multiplayer match.

Pathfinder — Middle East Freedom Fighter

Pathfinder-MW3
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Samara “Pathfinder” Jalal was an Urzikstan Liberation Force fighter featured in Modern Warfare 3’s campaign. Her outfit includes a beige tactical vest, brown camo pants, a utility belt, and a shemagh — perfect for MW3’z many Urzik maps.

To unlock Pathfinder as an operator, complete the Crash Site mission in Modern Warfare 3’s campaign.

BBQ — US Marine Corps

BBQ-MW3
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

David “BBQ” Fischer is a USMC (United States Marine Corps) officer and as American as apple pie. Texan — if you couldn’t tell by the name. BBQ sports a US flag parachute, chest patch, and tattoo alongside a beige camo uniform.

You can unlock BBQ by killing 3 Operators (players) affected by tacticals in a single multiplayer match. While not particularly Milsim, BBQ also has a Burger King skin for when you’re feeling hungry.

Best Premium Milsim Skins and Operators in Modern Warfare 3

If you’ve got some CoD Points to spare, there are some excellent milsim-style choices for operators and skins in the in-game Store.

Warrior — Real-life Navy Veteran

Warrior-MW3
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

What’s more authentic than a real-life decorated US Navy veteran? Warrior is based on Koa King, a now-retired Chief Petty Officer. 100% of proceeds from the Warrior Pack, which also includes weapon blueprints and exclusive cosmetics, go to CoD Endowment — a charity that helps veterans find employment after service.

Hutch (The Protector)

Hutch-The-Protector-MW3
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Hutch’s “The Protector” skin is included in the CODE Protector bundle, featuring an authentic military uniform. If you own Modern Warfare 2, you can also unlock Hutch’s regular look by completing the Ghost Team mission in the campaign.

Soap (Masked)

Soap-Masked-MW3
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

While covering up Johnny’s handsome face may be a sin, Soap’s “Masked” skin looks phenomenal. Equipped in all black (and some grey), this Soap skin is perfect for a stealthy milsim look. Soap’s operator pack was a free bonus for pre-ordering Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

Conor (Jungle Stalker)

Conor-Jungle-Stalker-MW3
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

With his strong Irish accent, Conor has some of my favorite voice lines in the entire game. His “Jungle Stalker” skin comes with the Greased and Camo’d bundle, which looks exactly as it sounds. The bundle also includes a TAQ-V blueprint with a matching camo and a cute little C4 hamster charm.

That wraps it up for the best milsim operators and skins in Modern Warfare 3. While collabs and extravagant cosmetics are top priorities, it’s great to see the occasional military-themed skin slip the cracks. Shoutout to how they handled Spawn and the S6 Battle Pass.
