While Domains are more important – since they act as your subclass – your chosen Deity is still essential for roleplaying purposes and interactions with other companions and NPCs throughout the game.

All Baldur’s Gate 3 Cleric Domains, Explained

There are 7 Domains to choose from in Baldur’s Gate 3. Each comes with its own list of spells and abilities that will be awarded as you level up. For starters, the BG3 Tempest Cleric Domain is a fan favorite.

While some Domains are commonly associated with certain Deities (the Life Domain is usually associated with good Deities, for example) you can mix and match as you please.

Best Cleric Domain in Baldur’s Gate 3

If you ask me, the best Domain to choose for your Cleric is either the Life Domain or the War Domain. The former is the stereotypical choice for a Cleric, but with good reason, since it allows players to heal and buff allies on the field. Conversely, the latter is excellent for Clerics who don’t want to be shoehorned into a support role. The Tempest Domain also works for this purpose if you prefer lightning magic instead of traditional swordplay.

Life Domain

The Life Domain is associated with many good Deities. It focuses on protective and restorative spells, making it perfect for a support-oriented Cleric. In addition to Heavy Armor Proficiency, this Domain starts with Disciple of Life, which permanently buffs all healing spells by 2 HP.

Here’s what you’ll learn as you level up if you choose this Domain.

  • Level 1 – Domain Spells (Bless, Cure Wounds)
  • Level 1 – Disciple of Life (Subclass Feature)
  • Level 1 – Heavy Armour Proficiency (Subclass Feature)
  • Level 2 – Preserve Life (Action)
  • Level 3 – Domain Spells (Lesser Restoration, Aid)

Light Domain

According to the official in-game description, the Light Domain is centered around Deities of justice, majesty, and primordial flame. This Domain utilizes spells that can dispel darkness and are effective against undead creatures, which makes sense given the name. Warding Flare, this Domain’s unique spell, lets you force a Disadvantage on attackers.

Here’s what progression looks like for a Light Domain Cleric.

  • Level 1 – Domain Spells (Faerie Fire, Burning Hands)
  • Level 1 – Warding Flare (Subclass Feature)
  • Level 1 – Light (Subclass Feature, Cantrip)
  • Level 2 – Radiance of the Dawn (Action)
  • Level 3 – Domain Spells (Flaming Sphere, Scorching Ray)
  • Level 5 – Domain Spells (Daylight, Fireball)
  • Level 6 – Improved Warding Flare (Subclass Feature)
  • Level 7 – Domain Spells (Wall of Fire, Guardian of Faith)
  • Level 8 – Potent Spellcasting (Subclass Feature)
  • Level 9 – Domain Spells (Flame Strike, Destructive Wave)

Trickery Domain

The Trickery Domain is home to mischievous and chaotic Deities, perfect for Clerics who really wish they could play a Rogue or Bard. Their unique action is Blessing of the Trickster, which gives an Advantage on Stealth checks. Plus, they start out with Disguise Self and Charm Person too.

Here’s what you’ll learn as you level up as a Trickery Domain Cleric.

  • Level 1 – Domain Spells (Disguise Self, Charm Person)
  • Level 1 – Blessing of the Trickster (Action)

  • Level 8 – Divine Strike: Poison (Action)
  • Level 9 – Domain Spells (Dominate Person, Seeming)

Knowledge Domain

The Knowledge Domain is the nerdiest of them all, designed for Clerics who wish to be proficient in language and academic skills. Blessings of Knowledge is its unique feature, letting you learn two additional languages at the start of the game. Plus, you can choose to be proficient in two of the following: Arcana, History, Nature, or Religion. Your proficiency bonus will be doubled to +4 for any skill checks that use your chosen two!

Here’s what progression looks like for the Knowledge Domain.

  • Level 1 – Domain Spells (Command, Sleep)
  • Level 2 – Knowledge of the Ages (Action)
  • Level 3 – Domain Spells (Calm Emotions, Hold Person)
  • Level 5 – Domain Spells (Speak with Dead, Slow)

Nature Domain

The Nature Domain is self-explanatory, letting you channel your inner Druid to focus on the great outdoors. Nature Domain Clerics are proficient with Heavy Armor, just like Life Domain Clerics, and their unique feature — Acolyte of Nature — lets them learn any Druid cantrip of their choosing and gain proficiency in Animal Handling, Nature, or Survival.

Here’s what the progression path looks like for a Nature Domain Cleric.

  • Level 1 – Domain Spells (Speak with Animals, Animal Friendship)
  • Level 1 – Acolyte of Nature (Subclass Feature)
  • Level 1 – Shillelagh (Cantrip)
  • Level 2 – Charm Animals and Plants (Action)
  • Level 3 – Domain Spells (Spike Growth, Barkskin)
  • Level 5 – Domain Spells (Plant Growth, Sleet Storm)
  • Level 7 – Domain Spells (Dominate Beast, Grasping Vine)
  • Level 8 – Divine Strike: Elemental Fury (Action)
  • Level 9 – Domain Spells (Insect Plague, Wall of Stone)

Tempest Domain

The BG3 Tempest Cleric Domain is centered around lightning, thunder, and storms. It’s mainly an offensive Domain that provides proficiency with Martial Weapons and Heavy Armor, so it’s perfect for Clerics who want to be on the front lines and deal massive damage. Its unique feature is Wrath of the Storm, a spell that strikes a foe and deals 2-16 Lightning damage (or half of that on a failed Saving Throw). I found the Wrath of the Storm feature to help me the most in the game’s brutal battles, so I highly recommend it.

Here are all the spells that a Tempest Domain Cleric learns as they level up.

  • Level 1 – Domain Spells (Thunderwave, Fog Cloud)
  • Level 1 – Heavy Armour Proficiency (Subclass Feature)
  • Level 1 – Martial Weapon Proficiency (Subclass Feature)
  • Level 1 – Wrath of the Storm (Subclass Feature)
  • Level 2 – Destructive Wrath (Subclass Feature)
  • Level 3 – Domain Spells (Shatter, Gust of Wind)
  • Level 5 – Domain Spells (Call Lightning, Sleet Storm)
  • Level 6 – Thunderous Strike (Subclass Feature)
  • Level 7 – Domain Spells (Ice Storm, Freedom of Movement)
  • Level 8 – Divine Strike: Tempest (Action)
  • Level 9 – Domain Spells (Insect Plague, Destructive Wave)

War Domain

Last but certainly not least, the War Domain is designed for Clerics who want to smite evildoers with holy powers. Choosing this Domain will make you proficient with Heavy Armor and Martial Weapons and grant you the War Priest ability, which grants you War Priest charges that can be spent to make additional attacks during your turn.

Here’s what progression looks like for the War Domain.

  • Level 1 – Domain Spells (Divine Favour, Shield of Faith)
  • Level 1 – Heavy Armour Proficiency (Subclass Feature)
  • Level 1 – Martial Weapon Proficiency (Subclass Feature)

  • Level 8 – Divine Strike: Warmaster (Action)
  • Level 9 – Domain Spells (Flame Strike, Hold Monster)

What Does a Cleric Deity Do in Baldur’s Gate 3?

Baldurs-Gate-3-Cleric-Deity
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

There are a whopping 21 Deities to choose from when creating a Cleric in Baldur’s Gate 3. This choice doesn’t affect anything related to gameplay or combat but will affect your relationship with certain NPCs and your available dialogue options in specific scenarios. This is purely a roleplaying decision, so try to choose the one that sounds the coolest to you. My personal favorite is the BG3 Tempus Cleric Deity.

Related: Avoid Baldur’s Gate 3’s Frustrating Traps System Using This Simple Command

Here’s a list of all 21 Baldur’s Gate 3 Deities with a brief summary of each.

  • Selune: Goddess of the Moon, Stars, and Navigation
  • Bahamut: Dragon God of Justice
  • Tempus: Lord of Battles
  • Tyr: Blind God of Law and Justice
  • Helm: The Watcher, Eternal Sentry Among the Gods
  • Ilmater: Crying God of the Oppressed and Persecuted
  • Mystra: Mother of All Magic
  • Oghma: God of Inspiration and Invention
  • Kelemvor: Guides the Undead to the Afterlife
  • Moradin: Dwarven God of Smiths, Artisans, and Miners
  • Corellon Larethian: Creator of Elves and Overseer of Elven Pantheon, God of Art, Magic, and Nature
  • Garl Glittergold: King of the Gnomish Gods, Deity of Humor, Gem-Cutting, Protection, and Trickery
  • Yondalla: Mother of the Halfling Pantheon, Goddess of Home, Hearth, and Nature
  • Lolth: Matriarch of the Drow Pantheon, Goddess of Spiders and the Underdark, seeks to corrupt all Drow and turn them into cultists.
  • Gruumsh: Patron Deity of Orcs, God of War, Conquest, and Victory
  • Tiamat: Dragon God of Greed
  • Eilistraee: Goddess of Good Drow, Beauty, Song, and Freedom
  • Lathander: God of Dawn and Spring, Birth and New Beginnings
  • Talos: Uncaring and Destructive Force of Nature
  • Tymora: Goddess of Fortune and Gambling
  • Mielikki: Goddess of Forests

While most of these Deities can be chosen without affecting your character that much, be wary of selecting Deities like Lolth, who are reviled throughout Faerun. Lolth, for example, wishes to turn every Drow into a mindless servant. In addition, Tiamat is described as a “roiling mass of avarice and hate that is currently trapped within the Nine Hells.”

Openly worshiping some of these Deities might make some NPCs think less of you. However, nobody’s really going to care if you serve Garl Glittergold on the other hand. If you want to deepen your relationship with everyone’s favorite Wizard, Gale, you should choose Mystra to unlock some unique dialogue options with him at camp. Meanwhile, if you want NPCs to associate you with war and battles, select the BG3 Tempus Cleric Deity.

Speaking of deepening your relationship with Gale, check out our Gale romance guide for BG3.

Which Cleric Deity is Best in Baldur’s Gate 3?

As mentioned, choosing a Cleric Deity isn’t the most crucial decision in Baldur’s Gate 3, as they only change dialogue options. That said, it is recommended to pick one that can deepen a relationship with a party member or one that aligns well with the Clerics role.

For example, as stated in the last section, choosing Mystra, described as “Mother of all Magic,” will deepen your relationship with the Wizard Gale. Another great pick is Bahamut, described as the “Dragon God of Justice,” who is well regarded and looked at for their healing capabilities, which aligns well with the Cleric class.

Do Deities Matter in Baldur’s Gate 3?

Deities only matter if you care about the story of Baldur’s Gate 3. In other words, it depends on what you are trying to get out of the game. For example, deities don’t change how combat turns out or the game’s overall difficulty, but they do change the roleplaying nature of the game. You will get different dialogue options depending on the Deity you choose, so it’s smart to choose wisely if dialogue options are an important factor to you.

Considering Baldur’s Gate 3 is at its absolute best when role-playing and discovering the lore the game includes, I recommend you pick the Deity that sounds the coolest to you. You will find that BG3 can get incredibly in-depth regarding relationships with other characters, and each Deity can significantly impact how things pan out.

If you are unsure which one to choose, you can save before selecting the Deity and then load the game later if you get bored of your current pick. For example, I first selected the Bahamut Deity and didn’t like it, so I reloaded the save game and went with BG3 Tempest Deity instead, which was more my speed.

Which is the Best Race for a Cleric in Baldur’s Gate 3?

The best race to choose for the Cleric class in Baldur’s Gate 3 is the Duegar. The Duegar is the best for a couple of reasons: they get a boost in proficiency with bludgeoning weapons and gain an advantage against being paralyzed or charmed. These two status effects can turn the tide in combat, so having a Duegar cleric can help counter this.

Elden Ring: Should You Open the Evergaol and Free Blaidd? https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/elden-ring-should-you-open-the-evergaol-and-free-blaidd-or-not/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/elden-ring-should-you-open-the-evergaol-and-free-blaidd-or-not/#respond Tue, 06 Aug 2024 19:19:33 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=828727 Blaidd the Half-Wolf is one of the coolest characters in Elden Ring, and players will have to choose to either free him or leave him trapped at one point during his questline. Blacksmith Iji, who is seemingly an ally to both you and Blaidd, has trapped Blaidd in the Forlorn Hound Evergaol.

This is the same place where you and Blaidd defeated Darrwil, which is quite ironic now that Blaidd has found himself trapped there. Blaidd has helped you out quite a bit throughout your journey, so you should open the Evergaol and free Blaidd or should you not?

Should You Free Blaidd in Elden Ring?

Elden-Ring-Blaidd-Siofra-River

Image: Attack of the Fanboy

When you find Blaidd trapped in the Forlorn Hound Evergaol, you will have the option to open the Evergaol. If you do, Blaidd will appear and thank you for your help. He’ll tell you that he’s going to see Ranni and check if she’s still safe.

He also says he doesn’t know why exactly Iji trapped him in the Evergaol, but there really aren’t any hard feelings about it. He’ll then head off to Ranni’s Rise, but you’ll have to go visit him again later.

What Happens If You Don’t Free Blaidd?

Elden-Ring-Blaidd-Questline

If you choose not to free Blaidd and leave him in the Evergaol, nothing will happen. You can continue your adventure, delve into Nokron, Eternal City, or go explore elsewhere. Blaidd will escape the Evergaol regardless, and his questline will continue regardless of your choice here.

Your decision here does not matter. Nothing will change in the story, and Blaidd’s full questline will still be available to you no matter what. Most players don’t even come across Blaidd in the Evergaol anyway, instead opting to just explore Nokron and wonder why he’s not there.

Before you can see Blaidd again, you must complete Ranni’s entire questline. There isn’t much left to it at this point, but you will need to seek out some rare items in Nokron and return to Ranni for your final few instructions. After completing Ranni’s storyline, you can find Blaidd at Ranni’s Rise to complete his quest.

Elden Ring is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

Should You Kill or Spare Ciro in the Dying Light 2 Bloody Ties DLC? https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/should-you-kill-or-spare-ciro-in-dying-light-2-bloody-ties/ Tue, 06 Aug 2024 18:56:29 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=871260 Just like the main campaign, the Bloody Ties DLC for Dying Light 2 has plenty of choices throughout its story. As soon as you start Bloody Ties, you’ll meet Ciro and partner up with him as you try to work your way to Carnage Hall.

Ciro is eager to climb the ranks and his family drama is the center of the DLC’s story, so it’s easy to get attached to your new partner. Things quickly go south early in the story though, and you have to either let Ciro beat you or kill him to climb the ranks yourself.

Should You Kill Ciro or Let Him Win?

Ciro-handing-the-player-character-a-beer-in-Dying-Light-2

This is the first important decision that you’ll make during the Bloody Ties DLC. After defeating Ciro, you’ll be given two options:

  • Let Ciro Win – Forfeit the Fight
  • Kill Ciro – Climb the Ranks

Aside from the obvious consequences of Ciro either living or dying, this choice also has minor ripple effects throughout the rest of the DLC.

What Happens If You Kill Ciro?

Ciros-eath-in-the-Dying-Light-2s-DLC

If you kill Ciro, then he’s removed from the Bloody Ties DLC permanently. He won’t show up in any later cutscenes because Aiden will kill him right then and there. Ciro doesn’t have a huge role throughout the second half of the DLC, however, so you won’t be missing much. It’s better to let Ciro live though, because the additions listed below will make your playthrough of Bloody Ties more enjoyable.

What Happens If You Let Ciro Win?

Ciros-Introduction-in-Dying-Light-2

If you let Ciro win, he’ll continue to attack you. Just let him hit you a few times and another cutscene will play, giving you another choice to either kill Ciro and move to the final fight or spare Ciro and abandon the tournament. If you kill Ciro now, it’s the same as killing him earlier. If you spare Ciro, however, the Bloody Ties DLC will continue normally with Ciro still alive. You will not get a bad ending by choosing to abandon the tournament.

If you spare Ciro, he’ll help during the final boss fight of Bloody Ties. That’s the only real benefit you’ll get from keeping Ciro alive, although it’s a pretty big bonus since he shaves off a significant chunk of the final encounter if he’s present. He’ll also remain a major character throughout the DLC’s story since he’s still alive, and having more characters is always a good thing.

Dying Light 2 is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

Elden Ring: Where is Blaidd in Nokron? https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/elden-ring-game-where-is-blaidd-in-nokron/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/elden-ring-game-where-is-blaidd-in-nokron/#respond Tue, 16 Jul 2024 16:55:11 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=828710 As you work to complete Ranni the Witch’s massive sidequest in Elden Ring, you will find yourself working alongside the half-wolf warrior Blaidd. After the two of you take down Starscoruge Radahn at Redmane Castle, a falling meteorite will reveal the path to Nokron, the Eternal City.

Before he departs, Blaidd asks you to meet him “where the falling star bit the Earth”. However, Blaidd will not be in the Eternal City when you go to look for him. Here’s how to find Blaidd in Nokron in Elden Ring.

Where Is Blaidd In Nokron?

Elden-Ring-Blaidd-official-screenshot-of-Blaidd-holding-a-large-blade-while-standing-in-front-of-the-Erdtree
Image via FromSoftware

Elden Ring is a game where even basic instructions from NPCs can be cryptic or misleading. Unlike the previous moments when Blaidd would ask for you to meet him somewhere, like the Siofra River beneath Limgrave and Caelid, Blaidd will not be in Nokron when you go to look for him after defeating Radahn. However, there is an excellent reason why Blaidd is not able to meet you at the Eternal City, as he has found himself in a somewhat awkward situation.

Return to the Forlorn Hound Evergaol in Limgrave where you should have fought the Bloodhound Knight Darriwil alongside Blaidd earlier in the story. As you approach, you’ll hear the signature wolf howl that signals Blaidd is nearby, followed by the wolfman telling the Tarnished that he’s been trapped by Iji. Note: You can only progress Blaidd’s questline if you agree to help him break free. Once you’ve freed him by interacting with the Evergoal, a grateful Blaidd will depart to discover why Iji has seemingly betrayed Ranni’s cause, promising to meet you in Nokron afterward.

Elden-Ring-Darriwil-Map-Location
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Unfortunately, Blaidd never makes it to Nokron. If you confront Blacksmith Iji yourself at the Road to the Manor Site of Grace in Liurnia, he will reveal that he imprisoned Blaidd to keep him from going feral, which he is fated to do. At this point, you must complete the rest of Ranni’s quest before interacting with Blaidd again.

Once you have finished Ranni’s questline, you can find Blaidd one last time at Ranni’s Rise, surrounded by the corpses of Black Knife assassins sent to kill Ranni and consumed by an animalistic fury. Lost in his madness, Blaidd will mistake you as a threat to Ranni and attack you, leaving you with no choice but to put him out of his misery.

Stellar Blade Review https://attackofthefanboy.com/reviews/stellar-blade-review/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/reviews/stellar-blade-review/#respond Wed, 24 Apr 2024 14:00:00 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=984951 Even though it’s become a tired point of discussion and the center of some truly disheartening discourse, there’s a lot to like about Stellar Blade. Developer Shift Up’s debut PlayStation 5 title has been shown off for what feels like ages now, and the finished product is far more polished than you’d expect from a primarily mobile development studio. Still, despite its fantastic presentation and satisfying combat, Stellar Blade unfortunately falls a bit short compared to other games in the genre.

Stellar Blade is a decent enough action game, though, and its great combat system does a lot to carry the experience. It initially comes across as more of a Soulslike than it actually is, placing great emphasis on perfectly-timed dodges and parries that open up enemies for a barrage of strikes. As you level up and unlock new abilities for Eve, however, Stellar Blade’s action game roots start to rise to the surface.

Stellar-Blade-Combat
Image: Shift Up

You’ll start out afraid of most enemies that you encounter, but after just a few hours you’ll be dancing around crowds of enemies and making quick work of even the toughest boss battles. The game’s skill tree goes a long way in making the combat feel more fluid and responsive, widening parry and perfect dodge windows so you can focus more on flashy combos and high-damage skills. Stellar Blade exists in a strange middle ground between Dark Souls and Devil May Cry, and while I definitely started the game wishing it leaned much harder one way or the other, the combat finally clicked after a few hours of upgrades.

Upgrades are surprisingly one of the most satisfying things about Stellar Blade, too. The game’s levels aren’t as straightforward as they appear, and there are chests, combination codes, and challenging foes hidden around quite literally every corner. Exploring every nook and cranny of Stellar Blade’s world can easily add hours to your playthrough, and the developers know exactly how many rewards to place around every corner to keep you traveling along their tightly-designed trail of breadcrumbs.

There’s also a decent amount of flexibility when it comes to building Eve’s kit and abilities. The game hands you skill points so fast that you’ll be able to unlock one or two new skills every time you come across a safe zone, and the sheer variety of skills means that your Eve can look a lot different than someone else’s. Both perfect dodges and perfect parries are viable for combat, and you can focus on stringing long combo attacks together or barraging enemies with quick slashes to build up energy for your skills.

Equipment also plays a large role in this, with Eve able to equip various Nano Suits and other gear that have big stat boosts associated with them. I found myself focusing on raising Eve’s crit rate so I could spam light attacks and not get stuck in lengthy attack animations in case I needed to parry an incoming attack. Stellar Blade’s skill tree catered to this perfectly, letting me unlock passive abilities that increased my energy recharge rate with every successful strike. Others will play the game in completely different ways, which is why Stellar Blade’s progression system is so great.

Stellar-Blade-Skill-Tree
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Unfortunately, the other aspects of Stellar Blade fall short of the competition. The story is the biggest miss here, and a genuinely interesting premise and setup devolve into been-there-done-that sci-fi tropes that countless other series have handled much better. The excellent character designs and environmental work deserve a better storyline than what we got.

The world that you explore in Stellar Blade is interesting enough, at least, but the worldbuilding is paper-thin and leaves you wanting so much more. There are several corpses strewn about each zone with notes and letters attached to them, but they always contain just a few sentences of some of the most generic sci-fi stuff you’ve ever read. It’s usually a mixture of “do we really know what’s going on” or “these monsters are really scary,” neither of which is particularly compelling.

At the very least, Stellar Blade’s story and worldbuilding don’t get in the way of the action. Cutscenes are brief and most exposition happens while you’re exploring, so it’s easy to tune everything out if you want to. That won’t save you from the stilted voice performances, though. Outside of a select few cutscenes, you’ll get used to hearing bland line reads from Eve, her partner Adam, and the rest of the cast.

Stellar-Blade-Cutscene
Image: Shift Up

Despite those drawbacks, though, it’s surprisingly easy to lose hours to Stellar Blade before you’ve even realized it. I’ve already mentioned the breadcrumb trail of collectibles and upgrades, but every swing of the sword feels impactful and every special burst skill feels weightier than the last. Slicing through a crowd with a charged slice or smashing a shield with Eve’s shield breaker ability never gets old. It’s just one of those games that tries way too hard to put the fun in front of everything else, no matter what suffers as a result.

Even something as simple as the sound that items make when you pick them up just scratches my brain in the best way. Plus, Shift Up turns the DualSense’s haptic feedback to 11 with just about every possible action making the controller vibrate in a deeply satisfying manner. A lot of games hype up their DualSense integration, but Stellar Blade’s implementation reminds me of a great arcade machine where every input has a tactile feel and an addicting response.

That’s the main thing about Stellar Blade. At its core, Stellar Blade is a game obsessed with instant gratification and intense dopamine rushes. The flashy combat is one thing, but developer Shift Up really knows how to keep the hamster wheel spinning and suck you into the game until you don’t realize how much time has passed.

Stellar-Blade-Lily
Image: Shift Up

Ultimately, Stellar Blade is a solid action game that blends rewarding exploration and mesmerizing visuals to create an enjoyable experience, even if the story and world leave a lot to be desired. As long as you can put up with stilted dialogue and bland worldbuilding, the flashy combat system feels excellent in motion after getting a few upgrades under your belt. It doesn’t overstay its welcome, and a relatively brief, tightly designed action game is always welcome in my book.

Ultimate Fortnite 2v2 Map Codes List – Zone Wars, Box Fight, and More https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/ultimate-fortnite-2v2-map-codes-list-february-2021-zone-wars-box-fight-and-more/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/ultimate-fortnite-2v2-map-codes-list-february-2021-zone-wars-box-fight-and-more/#respond Wed, 03 Apr 2024 10:30:32 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=766596 Tensions can run high during a game of Fortnite, and there’s no better way to let off some steam than by facing off against a particularly meddlesome rival in a deathmatch. However, you’ll need to find an excellent creative map code before you can start reliving your favorite Western movie.

While Fortnite typically pits 100 players against each other in a free-for-all until only one team is left standing, the game also features custom maps that allow for two vs. two deathmatches, three-on-three brawls, and many other alternate battle formats that will enable you to settle the score with your friends. Here are all the best 2v2 Fortnite maps, including Zone Wars and Box Fight codes.

Best Fortnite 2v2 Codes

2v2 is not a typical game mode in vanilla Fortnite, so you’ll need to grab the codes you need to play it from modders. Fortunately, Epic Games has gone to incredible lengths to make Fortnite mods accessible, and many of the best 2v2 codes out there come from very reputable modders within the community.

How to Use Creative Codes in Fortnite

To use creative codes in Fortnite, you must start a creative server. You can do this almost immediately after you launch Fortnite Creative Mode by pressing the yellow “Launch” button that pops up. After you’ve logged into your new server, you must track down a Rift.

Rifts are swirling portals found in creative servers that can be used to host several popular games. There should be a Rift somewhere in yours, so look around until you find it. Once you have, select “Set Island Code” and input your chosen code.

To recap, here’s how to use creative codes in Fortnite.

  1. Start a Creative server.
  2. Find the featured island rift.
  3. Enter the code.

Some creative maps have matchmaking that allows you to find other people to play with, but others require you to bring your group of friends.

Fortnite is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices.

How to Change Time of Day and Skip Time in Rise of the Ronin https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/how-to-change-time-of-day-in-rise-of-the-ronin/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/how-to-change-time-of-day-in-rise-of-the-ronin/#respond Fri, 22 Mar 2024 06:00:00 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=984704 Rise of the Ronin is a massive open-world RPG with a full day and night cycle, and as you would expect from a game like this, certain activities will only be available at certain times of day. Instead of waiting for the clock to strike a specific hour, however, you can fast forward time with the help of a useful item that you obtain very early in the main storyline.

How to Skip Time in Rise of the Ronin

To change the time of day in Rise of the Ronin, you can use the Pocket Watch. Just open the Equipment menu and add it to your equipped items so you can use it. Once you open it up, you’ll be able to choose the exact time that you want and the game will automatically fast-forward in real-time with no loading screens.

You get the Pocket Watch from Sakamoto Ryoma very early in Rise of the Ronin, so if you don’t have it yet, just keep following the main story until you reach Yokohama and complete the first few quests there. You can’t miss the Pocket Watch and you can’t accidentally sell it or anything like that, so it’ll always be in your key items alongside the Horse Whistle and other useful things.

While you can start most missions and side activities in Rise of the Ronin at any time of day, there is one major exception to this rule: Fugitives. These are minibosses scattered throughout the open world that will reward you with new combat styles upon defeat, but some of them only spawn when certain criteria are met. Quite a few Fugitives will only appear at nighttime, for example, so make use of the Pocket Watch to force them to spawn.

The Pocket Watch doesn’t have many other uses in Rise of the Ronin so you don’t need to keep it equipped at all times during your adventure, but don’t forget about it if you encounter an enemy that only appears at a certain time or need the cover of darkness to make a stealthy infiltration a bit easier.

Rise of the Ronin Difficulty Levels Explained: Which Should You Choose? https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/rise-of-the-ronin-difficulty-levels-explained-which-should-you-choose/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/rise-of-the-ronin-difficulty-levels-explained-which-should-you-choose/#respond Fri, 22 Mar 2024 05:30:00 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=984698 Rise of the Ronin is a challenging RPG just like Team Ninja’s previous games, but there are difficulty settings this time around that let you customize the experience to your liking. Whether you want an easier, more laid-back adventure or a harder combat system that requires precise parry timing, there’s a difficulty option for you.

All Rise of the Ronin Difficulty Levels Explained

There are three difficulty levels in Rise of the Ronin.

  • Dawn
  • Dusk
  • Twilight

As you can probably tell, those are the game’s versions of easy, normal, and hard. These do much more than just adjust enemy health and damage, though, so you might need to choose an easier or harder mode if you struggle with things like parrying.

Rise-of-the-Ronin-Combat-Co-Op
Image: Team Ninja

Dawn mode increases the effects of healing items and reduces the Ki consumption of attacks, letting you swing your sword more often without any consequences. It’s the perfect mode for people who just want to experience the story and world of Rise of the Ronin without worrying too much about the combat. There are even additional modifiers in the game’s settings menu that let you make Dawn mode even easier, so check those out if you’re still struggling with the combat.

Dusk mode is the default difficulty mode in Rise of the Ronin, but it’s still a bit easier than previous Team Ninja RPGs like Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty and Nioh. It’s a nice, balanced mode that still offers a decent challenge, though.

If you want difficulty along the lines of other Team Ninja games, then check out Twilight mode. Not only will enemies become more lethal, but they’ll also attack more frequently and become much more aggressive. Since managing your Ki and parrying incoming attacks is such a huge part of Rise of the Ronin, this adds another layer of difficulty on top of the usual hard mode modifiers.

You can change your difficulty settings at any time during Rise of the Ronin, so don’t worry about getting locked into a mode that you don’t enjoy. Since the game doesn’t offer any bonus rewards for playing on higher difficulties, there’s no shame in swapping to an easier mode to get past a tough boss fight, too.

Fastest Ways to Level Up and Farm Karma in Rise of the Ronin https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/fastest-ways-to-level-up-and-farm-karma-in-rise-of-the-ronin/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/fastest-ways-to-level-up-and-farm-karma-in-rise-of-the-ronin/#respond Fri, 22 Mar 2024 05:00:00 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=984693 If you want to be prepared for the challenging boss battles and tough fights in Rise of the Ronin, you’ll need to level up and acquire the best gear to stand a chance. Thankfully, Rise of the Ronin is Team Ninja’s first open-world RPG so there are a ton of opportunities to gain XP and Karma without farming the same missions over and over again.

How to Get Karma in Rise of the Ronin

Karma is the main way to get skill points and level up in Rise of the Ronin outside of traditional XP. As you complete activities and missions, you’ll fill up your Karma bar. When you deposit it by visiting a Veiled Edge banner, it will be converted into skill points if you have enough.

If you die before visiting a Veiled Edge Banner, however, you’ll lose your Karma and start a Vendetta against the enemy that defeated you. Killing them or landing a critical blow after depleting their stamina bar will get it all back, though.

Assassination-2

If you want to farm Karma to earn a bunch of skill points, then the best way to do so is by running around and completing as many Public Order activities as you can. These are marked with red icons on the map and are home to groups of bandits and other enemies that are causing trouble for the nearby area. Not only will defeating them net you a bunch of Karma and other rewards, but it will also unlock other activities in the area since the bandits are cleared out. It’s a win-win situation.

How to Get Rare Skill Points in Rise of the Ronin

Some skills in Rise of the Ronin require special skill points specific to each stat in order to unlock them. These aren’t obtained with Karma or by leveling up, so you’ll have to go out of your way to get them.

Rise-of-the-Ronin-Speechcraft-Skill
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

The best ways to earn skill points for Strength, Dexterity, Charm, or Intellect are to raise your bond with certain characters and complete side quests that have them listed as rewards on the quest page. If an activity will give you a rare skill point, it’ll be listed as a reward so you don’t have to waste your time with other quests.

Of course, you can also purchase special items called Treatises if you’re in a rush. These are rare items that will automatically grant you a rare skill point for one of the four stats. You can find them in chests as rare rewards, but the main way to get them is by visiting special vendors like the cat lady in the Yokohama Pleasure District or the Official who rewards you for defeating Fugitives. They’re expensive, but they’re worth it.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Review https://attackofthefanboy.com/reviews/dragons-dogma-2-review/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/reviews/dragons-dogma-2-review/#respond Wed, 20 Mar 2024 15:00:00 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=984610 When it was released back in 2012, the original Dragon’s Dogma was one of the most inventive RPGs of its time. The game was a commercial success and received a decent critical response, but it didn’t quite get the fanfare it deserved. Of course, the original Dragon’s Dogma still had a lot of rough edges, but had it been released a few years later, it likely would have been appreciated much more. Now, over a decade later, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is finally here, and it feels less like a sequel and more like an “I told you so” moment at a time when gamers are begging for titles that don’t hold their hands and let them make mistakes with real consequences.

To say that Dragon’s Dogma 2 doesn’t hold your hand would be an understatement. Several quests only have vague directions and zero map markers, some enemies are completely immune to certain types of damage, and you will frequently be ambushed by goblins, dastardly thieves, and giant monsters with multiple health bars when you’re just trying to get back to town. All of these would-be frustrations combine into one of the most rewarding RPG experiences of this generation.

Dragons-Dogma-2-Camping
Image: Capcom

While there is a decent storyline to follow, Dragon’s Dogma 2 focuses on creating a “living, breathing world” with “deep combat,” “emergent gameplay,” and all those cliches that RPGs slap onto the back of the box. It’s a game that delivers on the promise of adventure, including all the tedium that comes with it. Limited fast travel, regular camping, food and supplies spoiling, quests failing after a few days, and other hurdles make the simple experience of being on the road immensely satisfying.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 also hearkens back to the days of classic RPGs by being obtuse on purpose in some regards. To solve this, the game simulates the experience of sharing stories with other players through the Pawn system, which allows you to summon party members from other players’ worlds. If a Pawn has found a hidden path, completed a quest, or discovered secret treasure in another world, they’ll guide you in the right direction or give you hints that bring you one step closer to your goal. Since Pawns don’t level up or gain experience while in your party, you’re encouraged to regularly swap out your AI companions and maintain the flow of information between players.

Dragons-Dogma-2-Combat
Image: Capcom

Even during the review period, sharing Pawns with other critics and media members was a delight. While Pawns still have some of their annoying quirks from the first game like repeating the same dialogue quips over and over, they contribute greatly to making Dragon’s Dogma feel alive. Hearing tidbits about other players favoring Beastren in their parties while traveling or throwing a goblin off a cliff only for a summoned Pawn to get excited to tell their own master about this thrilling new strategy goes a long way to making the strictly solo experience feel a lot less lonely.

Of course, the hurdles that the game makes you jump through would be more frustrating than satisfying if the rewards weren’t up to par, but Dragon’s Dogma has worthwhile loot waiting around every corner. Delving into a deep cave will often lead to a powerful new weapon or piece of gear, but Dragon’s Dogma has more unique rewards to offer.

Forgotten Riftstones throughout the world, for example, can unlock new filters for the Pawn system, letting you specifically search for silly things like tall women or helpful things like Pawns with certain abilities. Discovering a Pawn that can sell items for you from anywhere in the world or finding a Pawn that can speak Elvish is a huge help. Plus, because traveling throughout the realm has so many layers to it, Dragon’s Dogma 2 loves to dish out rewards like Ferrystones and Portcrystals that enable fast travel to encourage players to take on its toughest challenges.

Dragons-Dogma-2-Pawn-Rifstone
Image: Capcom

And the game has troves of tough challenges waiting for you, too. The roads are incredibly dangerous at low levels, and you won’t even dare to travel after the sun goes down for the first few hours of the game. Even in the safety of daylight, you’ll encounter cyclopses, minotaurs, ogres, and other monstrosities that are basically boss battles for undergeared adventurers. You’ll become a fearsome monster slayer after a few trips between towns, but the initial exploration of the world is tense.

Battles with these big beasts are where Dragon’s Dogma 2’s combat system really shines, however. Every enemy has strengths and weaknesses that you must counter in order to succeed, and these go beyond typical “use fire damage to win” strategies that you’d see in other RPGs. Ogres will automatically target women in your party, for example, and you can use this to your advantage. You can also cling to and climb large foes, letting you reach weak spots like a cyclops’ eye as long as you can manage your stamina and hang on long enough.

Dragons-Dogma-2-Archer
Image: Capcom

Most sword slashes and special abilities are slow and deliberate, and fast-paced Vocations like the Thief are ridiculously fragile. You’ll have to combine the strengths of each Vocation and make use of your environment to take down strong foes. Standard attacks might bounce off of a griffin most of the time, but having an Archer use a special arrow to douse it with tar and then having a Mage use a flamethrower spell to set it aflame will cause its health bar to melt away.

As the beast falls, a triumphant score flares up and your party descends upon its prey with critical hits and finishing blows. It’s moments like these that make Dragon’s Dogma 2 feel like the ultimate form of fantasy wish fulfillment.

Dragons-Dogma-2-Griffin
Image: Capcom

This style of free-form gameplay applies to Dragon’s Dogma 2’s quest design as well. One early side quest tasks you with following a beggar who has a suspicious amount of coin to his name, and after tailing him for a full day, I found his house but hit a progression wall where I just could not figure out how to get inside. After hours of thinking, I just took him outside of the city walls and threw him off a cliff to gain access to his home. Then, I just visited the morgue (where all dead NPCs end up before being permanently deleted from the game world) and revived him with a rare item called a Wakestone. It wasn’t the intended solution to this quest, but it worked.

Dragons-Dogma-2-Combat
Image: Capcom

The game leaves you to your own devices for most of its missions, even main story quests that would usually be easy in any other RPG. Speaking to NPCs and eavesdropping on conversations is crucial, but the game exercises restraint and doesn’t mark things on your map if you hear some important dialogue. You have to immerse yourself in the world, think for yourself, and find your own solutions. Especially in quests with big decisions and multiple outcomes, this adds a significant amount of weight to dialogue and exploration.

That weight carries over to Dragon’s Dogma 2’s gameplay, too, which is why the game just feels so good to control. Every character and item feels truly grounded in the world, and physics interactions make spells and attacks feel satisfying to land. You can even pick up rocks and other items to throw them at enemies or push over boulders to knock over groups of foes like bowling pins. It even adds to the lethality of combat, as you not only have to worry about an orge smacking you away with its club but also the wall that it launches you into. The level of intractability in Dragon’s Dogma 2’s combat and environments makes the world feel tangible in a way that other games could only dream of.

Dragons-Dogma-2-Cyclops-min
Image: Capcom

Unfortunately, the game buckles under the weight of its ambition and gorgeous visuals in the performance department. Dragon’s Dogma 2 utilizes an uncapped framerate, but it’s usually hovering around 30 FPS and will chug in towns and busy combat scenes. When things are already as hectic as they are during battles with spell effects popping off and visibility being low at nighttime, the performance issues just make things feel frustrating. There are very few moments where the game benefits from the uncapped framerate since it’s so demanding, so an FPS cap would be much appreciated.

Ultimately, Dragon’s Dogma 2 doubles down on what made the original game so great while streamlining just enough to make the game more accessible for a modern audience. There’s a vast, dangerous world out there to explore with weighty decisions to be made and tricky puzzles to be solved, but Dragon’s Dogma 2 trusts the player’s intelligence and won’t beat you down too hard as long as you meet it halfway. It’s a truly gameplay-forward RPG that leaves you to your own devices and isn’t afraid to let you make mistakes, and that alone is enough to give Dragon’s Dogma 2 a unique identity in today’s gaming landscape. Everything else it does well is just an added bonus on top.

Cyberpunk 2077 Ofrenda Choice: Heroes Quest Guide https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/cyberpunk-2077-ofrenda-choice-heroes-quest-guide/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/cyberpunk-2077-ofrenda-choice-heroes-quest-guide/#respond Tue, 30 Jan 2024 12:55:41 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=761512 In the Heroes side job in Cyberpunk 2077, Mama Welles holds an ofrenda for her late son Jackie. Sending Jackie’s remains to the right place will earn you an invite to the ofrenda. Everyone needs something to honor Jackie, so you must find an item in his garage.

There’s a lot of stuff in Jackie’s garage for the Cyberpunk ofrenda offering, and Misty’s there with you to bring up sentimental stories attached to each item, so it can be challenging to decide what to bring. Unfortunately, your options are limited, so here’s the best thing you should bring to the Cyberpunk 2077 ofrenda offering.

What Should You Choose for the Ofrenda in Cyberpunk 2077?

Heroes-Side-Gig-Cyberpunk-2077
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

While the game makes it seem like you have a choice, you can only bring one thing to the Cyberpunk ofrenda offering. Inside Jackie’s garage, you will have several options available for you to choose from. However, I was initially confused through multiple playthroughs because the book seemed the only option, but this isn’t the case.

You’ll find the book and basketball in the first room, and the key to the second room is next to the beer. Once you have the key, you can access the second room to find a tequila bottle and a belt. Did you take everything or touch it? Make sure to select “take all” to add everything you can to your inventory. It honestly doesn’t matter which item you choose for the Ofrenda so choose what speaks to you the most.

However, to get the best outcome of this quest, convince Misty to come with you to El Coyote Cojo to attend the Ofrenda. Once at the Ofrenda, you can choose which items to place on the altar from your inventory. After the cyberpunk ofrenda offering ends, speak to Mama Welles and tell her Misty was critical of Jackie. However, you’ll still get the keys to Jackie’s motorcycle regardless of telling Mama Welles about Misty.

Can You Get Jackie’s Bike if You Answer No to Mama Welles?

At the end of the Heroes quest and completing the cyberpunk ofrenda offering, Mame Welles will offer you Jackie’s Bike. You can either accept the bike and grab the keys, or answer no to Mama Welles, which will rid you of receiving the bike. Unfortunately, if you answer no, you won’t be able to get Jackie’s Bike through the Heroes quest

If you accidentally said no to Mama Welles and want the bike, your best bet is to reload a save file. I made the mistake of saying no and reloading a save file from before the quest was my savior. Doing this, you will have to redo all the steps mentioned in this guide, but you will also receive Jackie’s Bike.

Making sure you get Jackie’s Bike is highly recommended, considering it’s most players’ first and best vehicle in the Cyberpunk 2077 playthrough. Having a vehicle makes exploring and getting between quest waypoints much easier.

What Happens if You Send Jackie to Viktor?

When deciding on where to send Jackie, the player has the option to send him to Viktor. If you choose to send Jackie to Viktor, you will be locked out of the rest of the quest and won’t be invited to the ofrenda mentioned earlier. Instead, Mama Welles will leave a box outside of V’s home that contains the keys to Jackie’s Bike. In other words, you will still receive Jackie Bike as a vehicle.

While this decision isn’t recommended, it’s not the end of the world, considering Mama Welles won’t be mad at you. You can actually call Mama Welles on your cellphone, and she will speak to you and wish you all the best.

How to Claim Pre-Order Bonus DLC in Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/how-to-claim-pre-order-bonus-dlc-in-like-a-dragon-infinite-wealth/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/how-to-claim-pre-order-bonus-dlc-in-like-a-dragon-infinite-wealth/#respond Thu, 25 Jan 2024 21:50:08 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=981351 Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth has a wide array of pre-order bonuses available for those who purchased the game before launch. If you pre-ordered Infinite Wealth, you’ll get access to a few consumable items and two exclusive Jobs for your party members.

You don’t get access to your bonus DLC right off the bat though, and you’ll have to put quite a few hours into the main story of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth before you can claim it. Plus, the Jobs still need to be unlocked just like the rest of the Jobs in the game, and their prerequisites require quite a bit of grinding.

How to Get Infinite Wealth Pre-Order Bonuses

There are two pre-order bonuses for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. The first is the Hero’s Booster Pack, which includes a Leveling Set (Small), a Gearworks Crafting Set (Small), and a Job Leveling Set (Small). These items provide minor level boosts to your characters and their chosen Jobs, so you’ll get a decent headstart in early-game combat encounters. The Gearworks Crafting Set also grants you some early-game crafting materials so you can get your party members set up with good gear for the opening hours of the game.

These items will be automatically deposited into your inventory as long as you’ve downloaded the Hero’s Booster Pack from your platform’s digital store. You won’t unlock the Gearworks until Chapter 2 of Infinite Wealth’s main story, however, and the Job system doesn’t open up until Chapter 6, so you won’t have much use for their respective booster items until further in the story.

How to Unlock Linebacker and Tennis Ace Jobs

The second (and more important) pre-order bonus is the Special Job Set. This unlocks the Linebacker and Tennis Ace Jobs for all male and female party members respectively. You don’t get access to these Jobs by default though, so you’ll still need to get further in the story and level up Ichiban’s stats in order to use them.

Related: Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth Review

You unlock the ability to change Jobs during Chapter 6 of Infinite Wealth’s main storyline. The Alo-Happy Tours business offers new Jobs for each of your party members, but they have hefty price tags and personality stat requirements depending on the Job you want. To get the Linebacker Job, Ichiban’s Confidence must be at least level 5. For Tennis Ace, you’ll need to raise Ichiban’s Charisma to level 5. Personality stats can be raised by forming Aloha Links with Hawaii’s citizens, completing substories, or taking quizzes at the Ounabara Vocational School.

The Special Job Set is the most important of Infinite Wealth’s pre-order bonuses, so don’t forget to claim the pair of Jobs once you’ve put enough hours into the game. If you didn’t pre-order Infinite Wealth, the Special Job Set is also available as a standalone DLC purchase for $4.99 on all platforms.

How to Fix Fortnite Rocket Racing Quests Not Working https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/how-to-fix-fortnite-rocket-racing-quests-not-working/ Thu, 25 Jan 2024 18:58:48 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=973131 Rocket Racing is the latest game mode to come to Fortnite, and there’s a series of introductory quests players can complete to earn free cosmetics. These quests aren’t working for some people. If you’re one of them, check below what can be done about it.

How to Fix Rocket Racing Quests Not Counting in Fortnite

Unfortunately, the quest is broken for some players and you may not be able to progress past 9/10 if you’re one of the unlucky few affected by this bug. This can be particularly frustrating for those with limited time to play Rocket Racing, as completed races are not counting towards the quest’s progression. Keep an eye on the Rocket Racing Support page for updates.

Fortnite-Rocket-Racing-Quests
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Before you play Rocket Racing again, note that races not counting is not an unusual issue if you quit the game before every single player has crossed the finish line. Even if you come in first place, you have to wait for everyone else to complete the race before backing out or it won’t count for the quest. Once the race is over for everyone, it’s safe to return to the lobby and queue for the next one.

Completing these quests will net you a free skin and back bling that can be used in Rocket Racing, LEGO Fortnite, Fortnite Festival, and any other Fortnite modes. There are also free introductory rewards for LEGO Fortnite, so make sure to try the mode out if you haven’t already.

How do you complete the Rocket Racing quest?

There are two Rocket Racing quests to complete during the mode’s launch window. The first quest requires you to play 10 Rocket Racing races and the second requires you to reach Gold rank in Rocket Racing. Reaching Gold rank is self-explanatory, but some players are having trouble with the 10 races quest not tracking their progress, and this often happens because players are quitting the race before every single adversary has crossed the finish line.

Why Am I Not Getting the Rocket Racing Skin in Fortnite?

To unlock the Jackie skin, you must reach Gold 2 and complete a race. Despite the game’s indication that achieving Gold rank is sufficient, it unfortunately omits these additional steps in its description.

Fallout 4 Cabot House: Kill or Free Lorenzo? https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/fallout-4-cabot-house-guide-kill-free-lorenzo/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/fallout-4-cabot-house-guide-kill-free-lorenzo/#comments Wed, 24 Jan 2024 21:03:06 +0000 http://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=592591 Fallout 4 has many quests which require you to make an impactful choice, and one of these is The Secret of Cabot House where you will eventually need to decide whether to free or kill a character named Lorenzo.

This article will take you through whether you should kill or free Lorenzo in Cabot House of Fallout 4.

Should You Kill or Free Lorenzo in Fallout 4?

Fallout-4-Kill-or-Free-Lorenzo
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

I recommend killing Lorenzo at the end of the quest due to the fact you get the Artifact Gun, which is an excellent weapon and something you won’t be able to get otherwise. However, if you feel guilty of killing a character who has been locked away, then your moral reasoning may push you to the other option. Morality-wise, killing Lorenzo still generally seems like the best outcome for the Wasteland for reasons I will explain later.

What Happens If You Kill Lorenzo?

If you kill Lorenzo, which you do by flipping the four switches on the walls, you head back to Cabot House with Jack where he gives you about 500 caps. If you were kind to him throughout the mission like I was, he will tell you to come back in a week. You can use sleep and wait to make the time pass faster if you need to, or just keep playing and let the week pass by. The mission will update once it has, so you’ll know when to head back.

Once there, Jack will give you Lorenzo’s Artifact Gun, a Gamma Gun with a special perk. This gun does a decent amount of damage, but its true value is in the various effects of the mod. It can stagger enemies and will deal damage in different ways depending on certain factors. It’s one of the best weapons in Fallout 4, and I’ve found it can help you get through plenty of sticky situations.

What Happens If You Free Lorenzo?

If you decide to free Lorenzo, the mission becomes a whole other affair. Once free, Lorenzo will ask if you wish to help him kill his family. Again, be careful what companion you have here as there are a lot of morally grey actions going on. Whatever you tell Lorenzo here isn’t important; just head back to Cabot House for the rest of the mission.

Once there, you are then presented with the opportunity to switch allegiances. If you side with Jack and the rest of the Cabot family, you’ll have a very tough fight against Lorenzo (use the Mysterious Serum you found at the asylum to make it much easier). In the end, you’ll get the caps, but not the gun.

Cabot-House-in-Fallout-4
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

If you stick with Lorenzo like I didn’t do, you’ll assist in killing the Cabot family, though it should be pretty easy, especially if you convince Edward to join your side. Once it’s over, Lorenzo will give you about 500 caps and explain the new deal. You can swing by the Cabot House to grab more Mysterious Serum at any time. You can only ever have one vial at a time, which cannot be traded or sold. Once it’s used, just head back and grab some more.

This serum gives you a considerable Strength boost, as well as a ton of damage resistance and rad resistance. I have found it to be greatly useful throughout the game, so there is no harm in going with this route. If you are willing to slaughter a not-so-innocent family, this could be the best option. Just have Piper or Curie head to one of your settlements before the fighting begins.

Is Lorenzo Evil in Fallout 4?

Fallout-4-Ripper-image
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Yes, in my opinion, Lorenzo is evil. If he gets out and isn’t killed, there have been reports of players noticing Lorenzo going on murdering sprees across the wasteland in a serial killer-like fashion. This is not the sign of a morally sane man — rather the opposite — so killing him and acquiring the Artifact Gun isn’t too bad an outcome.

Can You Get Lorenzo’s Helmet?

It is not possible to get Lorenzo’s Helmet by normal methods in Fallout 4. However, if you are playing on a PC, then you can easily use console commands to acquire and equip the helmet. The name of the headpiece is Lorenzo’s Crown, and to bring up console commands, you need to press the “~” key. When you do, type: “player.additem 001467F5” and then confirm that with the enter key.

You will now have Lorenzo’s Crown in the game, but to equip it, you will need to type “player.equipitem 001467F5” and then enter. Now you can happily go around the Wasteland with a brilliant fashion sense on display.

Are There Any Other Ways to Deal With Lorenzo in Fallout 4?

No, you only get two choices to deal with Lorenzo and that will come down to your personal decision of what you think is best. We have explained the reasoning behind each choice, so hopefully, that will allow you to make an easier decision — The Cabot House certainly has a lot of morality involved.

After you get through the choices you need to make with Lorenzo, you can happily walk away with whatever you decide to gain from the quest. Whether you decide to free or kill Lorenzo, we know that you will make the choice that matters the most to you similar to the Pickman’s Gift quest.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth Review https://attackofthefanboy.com/reviews/like-a-dragon-infinite-wealth-review/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/reviews/like-a-dragon-infinite-wealth-review/#respond Tue, 23 Jan 2024 15:00:00 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=980564 There are few franchises that balance tone as well as Like a Dragon. Every game in the series is a delicate balancing act between melodramatic cutscenes and playful minigames, a mixture that’s very easy to get wrong. Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, the eighth mainline game in the series, is the poster child of that balancing act. Everything about it, from its themes to its mechanics, is about balance.

Infinite Wealth is a direct sequel to Yakuza: Like a Dragon in every sense of the word. While previous Yakuza/Like a Dragon games have been fairly standalone outside of a few callbacks here and there, Infinite Wealth not only references past events in every single chapter but also expects the player to be familiar with both Ichiban and Kiryu’s adventures. This even applies to the substories, many of which feature familiar faces from Ichiban’s previous adventure in Yakuza: Like a Dragon.

You can still follow along perfectly fine if this is your first Like a Dragon game (and there’s a helpful recap for newcomers), but so much of the story’s impact will be lost on you if you aren’t a longtime fan. From major story beats like fists flying between old friends to small callbacks like the Kamurocho battle theme being a remix of the original Yakuza’s battle theme, there are so many emotional gut punches in Infinite Wealth that just won’t land if you aren’t a series veteran.

For example, longtime face of the franchise Kazuma Kiryu has had several sendoffs at this point — with Yakuza 6 supposedly being the end of Kiryu’s story even though he showed up to pass the torch to Ichiban in Yakuza 7 and then got yet another last hurrah in Like a Dragon Gaiden — but Infinite Wealth feels like the true end of an era in more ways than one. The Dragon of Dojima’s battle with cancer sends him down a road of remembrance paved with nostalgia and familiar faces.

Kiryu wrestles with the legacy he’s leaving behind throughout the main story of Infinite Wealth, but it’s the side content that really shines for his half of the game. The streets of Isezaki Ijincho and Kamurocho are dotted with Memoirs of a Dragon that range from minor flashbacks to full-on substories. Every building, every corner, and every dark alley holds special memories for Kiryu. It’s a testament to the staying power of the series, and fans will appreciate each and every one of Kiryu’s memories. Whether he’s fighting waves of goons or sitting down for a quiet chat with an old friend, Kiryu’s story is about remembering what it means to be a Dragon.

Learning the true meaning of being a Dragon is central to Ichiban’s story as well, as Infinite Wealth marks the true passing of the torch between the two characters. The game’s dual protagonist system is much more than a gimmick. Kiryu’s side of the story is about the old generation righting their wrongs and realizing that there is a better path for everyone, while Ichiban’s side of the story is about the new generation looking to the future and balancing tradition and progress. It’s an all too familiar tale in this age of gaming, but Infinite Wealth delivers its message in a way that only a Like a Dragon game could, complete with melodramatic shirtless duels and overly passionate karaoke sessions.

The series also looks to the future with its first-ever location outside of Japan. The story sends Ichiban and co. to Hawaii, and this tropical paradise is much more than just a backdrop. Hawaiian culture and history are intrinsically linked to the story of Infinite Wealth. Amid the backstreet brawls and crime drama, the game takes the time to explore the intricacies of Hawaii, the exploitation of its culture and native population, and the realities of a tourism-dominated economy. Of course, this is Like a Dragon so most of these problems end up fixed with a fistfight, but the way Ichiban and the party navigate the cultural landscape of Hawaii goes a long way to develop their characters.

The streets of Hawaii are also packed with a ton of activities to enjoy outside of the main story. The main side games in Infinite Wealth are Sujimon and Dondoko Island. Sujimon is a team-based battler that draws heavy inspiration from Pokemon, letting you obtain the enemies that you fight in normal battles through a gacha system or raids scattered throughout the open world. Dondoko Island is an Animal Crossing-inspired island builder where Ichiban can craft buildings and decorations to help restore a struggling resort that’s under siege by a polluting gang called the Washbucklers.

Like-a-Dragon-Infinite-Wealth-Sujimon
Image: SEGA

You can also take part in the usual pastimes like karaoke in addition to new minigames like Crazy Delivery and Miss Match, but Sujimon and Dondoko Island are the main attractions. They’re so expansive that calling them “side content” feels disrespectful. The real highlight of these activities, however, is how well they’re integrated into the main game. For example, Sujimon raids are all over Hawaii and it’s hard to walk a few blocks without running into a Sujimon gacha machine. On top of that, substory characters and friends that you make across Hawaii can be invited to Dondoko Island as guests.

Like-a-Dragon-Infinite-Wealth-Dondoko-Island
Image: SEGA

As a matter of fact, Infinite Wealth’s greatest strength is how well all of its systems feed back into each other. Sujimon that you capture can be used in normal battles via Ichiban’s Sujimancer Job. Conversations and minigames with your party members increase your bond levels, unlocking new tag team attacks and combo abilities for combat. You might find Dondoko Island recipes when shopping for healing items. Even something as simple as greeting NPCs throughout the city will increase Ichiban’s personality levels, granting him new abilities in combat and unlocking new Jobs.

This isn’t anything new for Like a Dragon games or RPGs in general, but the real victory is how little friction there is between all of the systems. Raising bond levels is effortless since conversations happen naturally while you’re walking around the city and you can even score some bond points from activities like karaoke. Plus, the game incentivizes building bonds with an addictive friendship bingo system. Sujimon stations give you free items just by walking near them, enticing you to make a few pulls and build out your team. Leveling Jobs is easy since all characters get experience, even ones not in your active party.

Even substories and side missions have been redesigned to focus on shorter encounters with multi-stage stories. They’ll never take up more than a few minutes of your time and they’re so great that you’ll want to head straight to the next part as soon as you can. You’ll very rarely find yourself thinking “I don’t have time for this” when playing Infinite Wealth, and that’s an immense achievement.

It helps that the core mechanics are a blast, too. While Yakuza: Like a Dragon stuck the landing when the series transitioned from action to turn-based combat, Infinite Wealth refines that system into one of the best turn-based battle systems in any RPG. It places a huge emphasis on positioning and environmental attacks. Party members can now freely move around the battlefield during their turn, which adds several layers of strategy to fights. Enemies take extra damage when attacked from behind, some attacks knock enemies back which damages any other enemies that they hit, allies can perform combo attacks if they stand near each other, items can be picked up and used as weapons, and more.

Like-a-Dragon-Infinite-Wealth-Combat-System
Image: SEGA

It’s just an exceptional battle system in all regards, especially with the customization of the Job system, which has been expanded with a new Skill Inheritance system. With this mechanic, you can carry over skills from any Job for every character. If you want the healing abilities of an Idol but the damage output of a Kunoichi, that’s possible. You can inherit even more skills as you level up your party bonds, and you can create some truly unique builds because of this.

Implementing so many new systems and placing such a huge focus on its side content was a risk, but Infinite Wealth so confidently asserts itself that it’s hard not to fall in love with everything that it has to offer. Like its protagonist, it’s a game that brazenly wears its heart on its sleeve. Even when you’re on the ultimate Hawaiian vacation, there’s still time to reunite feuding friends or help a crawfish find love.

Verdict

Sequels tend to iterate upon their predecessors, but Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio crammed so many improvements into Infinite Wealth that it easily enters the sequel hall of fame. For the studio’s second crack at the turn-based RPG format, Infinite Wealth knocks it out of the park. With a refined battle system, a stellar supporting cast, and the best side content the series has ever seen, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is one of the best RPGs of the modern era.

TLOU 2 Remastered Fidelity vs Performance Mode Differences Explained https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/the-last-of-us-part-2-remastered-fidelity-vs-performance-mode-differences-explained/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/the-last-of-us-part-2-remastered-fidelity-vs-performance-mode-differences-explained/#respond Thu, 18 Jan 2024 17:26:52 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=979879 The Last of Us Part 2 already looked great on PlayStation 4, but the remastered version on PS5 adds even more visual flair to one of the best-looking games of all time. On top of that, you can choose between a higher resolution or a higher framerate to suit your gameplay needs.

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered features a Fidelity mode and a Performance mode like a lot of other current-generation games, but there are even more options available if your display supports features like Variable Refresh Rate. You can experience The Last of Us Part 2 at incredibly high framerates without dropping the resolution too low, or you can enjoy a beautiful native 4K presentation if you don’t mind a lower framerate.

Fidelity vs Performance Mode in TLOU 2 Remastered

There are some variations to each mode depending on your TV or monitor’s capabilities, but generally, the Fidelity mode runs at 30 FPS and the Performance mode runs at 60 FPS. The former outputs at a native 4K resolution, while the latter drops the resolution down to 1440p to maintain a higher framerate.

If you want the best possible graphics for your playthrough of The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, then Fidelity mode is the way to go. The game is truly stunning in native 4K. However, the 1440p resolution offered in the Performance mode is still incredibly sharp and the game still looks great. The boost to 60 FPS is well worth the trade-off, especially if you have a smaller display or sit further away from your TV and won’t be able to notice the resolution drop as easily.

Variable Refresh Rate and Unlocked Framerate

The-Last-of-Us-Part-2-Remastered-Abby-Gameplay
Image: Naughty Dog

If your display supports Variable Refresh Rate and has a 120hz refresh rate, then the Fidelity mode will run at 40 FPS instead of 30 FPS. This seems like a small difference on paper, but the difference in smoothness is huge in practice.

You can also unlock the framerates for both the Fidelity and Performance modes if you have VRR enabled. The Fidelity mode hovers around 40-50 FPS with an unlocked framerate, while the Performance mode hits 100 FPS regularly. In the new No Return roguelike mode, the framerates climb even higher since the game only has to render small environments for each encounter.

Playing The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered with VRR enabled and an uncapped framerate is a dream come true. Whether you choose to play with the Fidelity mode at 40 FPS or the Performance mode to try and push as many frames as possible out of the game, there’s a lot to look forward to for TLOU fans.

How to Unlock All No Return Characters in TLOU 2 Remastered https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/how-to-unlock-all-no-return-characters-in-the-last-of-us-part-2-remastered/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/how-to-unlock-all-no-return-characters-in-the-last-of-us-part-2-remastered/#respond Thu, 18 Jan 2024 17:08:52 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=979869 There might not be a ton of new content in The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, but the No Return roguelike mode is the absolute star of the show. Not only does this mode feature randomized encounters with various enemies, but you can also play as characters other than Ellie and Abby.

Most of the game’s cast is unlockable as playable characters in No Return, including fan favorites like Joel and Tommy. Each character has a unique playstyle as well, starting their runs with different equipment and getting different buffs to specific combat abilities. Joel excels at melee combat, for example, but he can’t dodge like Ellie and Abby can.

How to Unlock Every Character in TLOU 2 No Return

You’ll start No Return with only Ellie and Abby available as playable characters, but you’ll quickly begin to unlock more of the TLOU 2 roster as you complete runs.

CharacterHow to Unlock
DinaComplete 2 encounters as Ellie.
JesseComplete 3 encounters as Dina.
TommyComplete 3 encounters with Jesse.
JoelComplete 4 encounters with Tommy.
LevComplete 2 encounters with Abby.
YaraComplete 3 encounters with Lev.
MelComplete 3 encounters with Yara.
MannyComplete 4 encounters with Mel.

Unlocking characters is as simple as completing encounters. An encounter is just a single level in a run, so you don’t have to successfully complete entire runs in order to unlock new characters. You don’t have to do the encounters in a single run, either, so failing isn’t a huge deal.

There are more specific challenges available for each character that go deeper than just completing encounters, but these are only for unlocking cosmetic items like skins. Ellie and Abby in particular have a ton of shirts that reference other PlayStation games like Killzone and Jak and Daxter. Most of these skins can be unlocked with points earned by playing the game, though.

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered doesn’t add a ton of new stuff to the original game, but No Return is worth the price of admission alone. In our review of the game, we called No Return the highlight of the experience, saying “The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered adds some additional visual flair to a game that didn’t really need any, but the new No Return roguelike mode makes it well worth the upgrade.” Getting to play as Joel and other characters from the story is a ton of fun, and there’s a surprising amount of depth to this side mode if you put in the time.

How to Prepare the Ship for Grav Drive in the First Contact Quest in Starfield https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/how-to-prepare-the-ship-for-grav-drive-in-the-first-contact-quest-in-starfield/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/how-to-prepare-the-ship-for-grav-drive-in-the-first-contact-quest-in-starfield/#respond Thu, 18 Jan 2024 15:13:35 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=946076 Installing a new Grav Drive is one of the trickiest options in Starfield’s ‘First Contact’ mission. To save you a headache, this guide will show you exactly how to install the Grav Drive and set the ECS Constant on a journey to find a new home.

Starfield: Preparing the Ship for Grav Drive in the First Contact Mission

There are three computers you need to interact with to prepare the ECS Constant with a Grav Drive for the ‘First Contact’ quest in Starfield. I found this mission to be complicated at first, but you won’t have any trouble following this guide.

Engineering Control Computer Alpha – Turbopump Port

Starfield-Reroute-Power
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

The first step in the mission to prepare the Grav Drive is to reroute power from the Port Turbopump to the Auxillary Cryogenic Radiator. To do this, go to Engineering Control Computer Alpha and select Turbopump — Port first and Cryogenic Radiator — Auxiliary second, and you’re good to go.

Engineering Control Computer Beta – Plasma Run-Off Inhibiter

Starfield-Plasma-Run-Off-Inhibitor
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Next up, you need to adjust the power level of the Plasma Run-Off Inhibiter to the correct level at the Engineering Control Computer Beta. To complete this step, choose the Plasma Run-Off Inhibiter from the list and set it to 95%.

Engineering Control Computer Gamma – Magnetic Flange Pipe Enclosures

Starfield-Magnetic-Flange-Pipe-Enclosure
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Lastly, you need to decouple the Auxiliary Module Assembly from the Magnetic Flange Pipe Enclosures. Use Engineering Control Computer Gamma and select Auxiliary Module Assembly. From there, choose to decouple and then select the Magnetic Flange Pipe Enclosures. That’s all you need to do!

Related: What Do Red Health Bars Mean in Starfield?

This quest seems much more complex on paper than it is in practice. If you ever forget what you need to do, all of the steps are in your quest log, so don’t hesitate to check your journal if you need a refresher.

There’s also no penalty for choosing the wrong options, so you can always go back and correct your mistakes if the quest doesn’t advance to the next step. I got the steps wrong multiple times, but thankfully, nothing happened, and I could go back and make the correct adjustments.

Once you’ve set everything to the correct levels and decoupled the right parts, the quest will automatically continue to the next step. At this point, the First Contact quest is nearly over! There are just a few more people to talk to before you can cross this one off your list.

Is There a Different Ending if You Don’t Take the Grav Drive Path in Starfield?

There are three endings for the First Contact mission. There are three dialogue options at the end of the mission that can change the ending you get. Here are all the dialogue options.

  1. Help the crew settle in Paradiso by providing some extra resources.
  2. Equip the Constant with a Grav Drive for them to settle somewhere else.
  3. Destroy the Ship.

Naturally, these are conflicting options. The ECS Constant encountered Paradiso after an enormously long voyage, and it’s simply a sad coincidence that somebody settled there first. Helping them settle seems appealing, but sending them on a new mission to settle elsewhere is a worthy compromise once you can persuade them.

First Contact Mission Rewards in Starfield

If you choose to settle the crew on Paradiso, you will get rewarded with the following items:

  • .45 Caliber ACP x30
  • Antique Earth Baseball x2
  • Antique Earth Basketball
  • Antique Earth Hockey Stick x3
  • Antique Earth Soccer Ball x2
  • Antique Piggy Bank
  • Modified XM-2311

If you choose to send the crew on a new voyage with their new Grav Drive, you will be rewarded with the following items after completing the quest:

  • .45 Caliber Acp X30
  • Antique Earth Baseball x2
  • Antique Earth Basketball
  • Antique Earth Hockey Stick x3
  • Antique Earth Soccer Ball x2
  • Antique Piggy Bank
  • Grav Drive Retrofit Manual
  • Modified XM-2311

Destroying the ship will only reward you with Credits after completing the First Contact quest:

  • 6500 Credits

What is the Best Option in Starfield’s ‘First Contact’ Mission? – Grav Drive, Settle on Paradiso, or Destroy the Ship?

The first or the second are equally reasonable choices. I don’t recommend the third option, which only rewards you with 6,500 credits. Unless you’re in dire need of some cash, 6,500 credits is pretty underwhelming.

There isn’t too much reason not to choose one of the other options, as you will be getting a free weapon from them in the process. Plus, who doesn’t love a good antique baseball every once in a while? You can even keep it on your desk like Captain Sisko.

Honkai Star Rail Swarm Disaster Torturous Difficulty Guide | Best Teams and Path for Difficulty 5 https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/honkai-star-rail-swarm-disaster-torturous-difficulty-guide-best-teams-and-path-for-difficulty-5/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/honkai-star-rail-swarm-disaster-torturous-difficulty-guide-best-teams-and-path-for-difficulty-5/#respond Tue, 16 Jan 2024 20:46:12 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=946417 Honkai Star Rail’s Simulated Universe isn’t intended to be difficult endgame content — that honor goes to the Forgotten Hall — but the new Swarm Disaster mode comes with a new difficulty level called Torturous that is testing the patience of even the most experienced Trailblazers.

Difficulty level 5 of Swarm Disaster is some of the hardest content currently available in Honkai Star Rail for several reasons, but also like the normal Simulated Universe, it’s completely manageable with the right team, the right Blessings, and just the right amount of luck.

Look, I’m going to be so real with you right now. I know we usually offer F2P-friendly options in our build guides here at Attack of the Fanboy or give you alternatives for characters you might not have, but Torturous difficulty is some of the hardest content in the game right now. If you aren’t easily clearing Memory of Chaos regularly, then you might want to come back and try this later.

Best Torturous Difficulty Team Composition in HSR

Image: Attack of the Fanboy

It’s going to be hard to clear without a team of built 5-Stars. This is made even worse because you’re going to want Imaginary and Quantum DPS characters for this run, and most of the good ones are 5-Stars like Seele, Silver Wolf, Welt, or Imbibitor Lunae.

With that said, there are a handful of team compositions that will make your life a lot easier. As long as you have a handful of 5-Star units with good Relics and stats, you should be able to get through this.

Best-5-Star-Characters-in-Honkai-Star-Rail-Seele
Image: Hoyoverse

Seele Quantum Carry Team

Here’s a great team that can easily hold its own during Swarm Disaster’s Torturous difficulty.

  • Seele
  • Luocha
  • Bronya
  • Tingyun

Using the Hunt Path, this team can deal insane amounts of damage so you won’t have to worry about staying alive too long. As you’d expect, it revolves around Seele. Use Tingyun to buff her, Bronya to advance her turn and provide additional buffs, and Luocha to keep the team alive and apply Imaginary Weakness Breaks. Make sure your team is built for CRIT, especially Seele. With the right Hunt Blessings, she can decimate the True Sting’s health bar at the end of the last Plane.

Honkai-Star-Rail-Kafka-Material-Farming-Guide-Ascension-and-Trace-Materials-3
Image: Hoyoverse

Kafka DOT Team

Next up, a DOT-focused team can get around some of the elemental restrictions.

  • Kafka
  • Serval
  • Silver Wolf
  • Bailu

This team relies upon Kafka and Serval placing constant Shocked DOTs on enemies and having Kafka detonate them with her abilities. Silver Wolf can imprint Electric weaknesses on enemies that don’t have it, and Bailu will keep everyone alive. This is a Skill-Point-hungry team, but with plenty of Nihility Blessings, your damage should be high. Plus, there are Nihility Blessings that heal your team based on DOT damage, so look for those.

Honkai-Star-Rail-Dan-Heng-Imbibitor-Lunae-5-Star
Image: Hoyoverse

Imbibitor Lunae Imaginary DPS Carry Team

If you were lucky enough to pick up Imbibitor Lunae, here’s a lineup centered around buffing him for huge boss damage.

  • Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae
  • Yukong
  • Tingyun
  • Luocha

This team doubles down on the Imaginary weaknesses of the bosses. With Imbibitor Lunae’s crazy damage output being further enhanced by Yukong and Tingyun, he should be able to nuke the boss HP bar if Luocha can keep everyone alive long enough. Use the Hunt Path to secure those sweet CRITs during tough fights.

Best-5-Star-Characters-in-Honkai-Star-Rail-Gepard
Image: Hoyoverse

Tanky Gepard Team

If you keep dying and want to focus on survivability, then Gepard is the best tank in the game.

  • Gepard
  • Imbibitor Lunae
  • Silver Wolf
  • Luocha

This is basically the same as the Imbibitor Lunae team composition described above, but with Gepard filling in to keep your team protected from the insane damage output of the True Sting boss and other foes in the Swarm Disaster. Silver Wolf slots easily into any team because of her great debuffs, but you can swap her out for another debuffer if you want. You can also swap Luocha out with another healer, but he’ll help you preserve Skill Points for Imbibitor Lunae, and he capitalizes on the Imaginary elemental recommendation for Swarm Disaster, too.

Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Best Paths for Torturous Difficulty

The best Path to choose in your Torturous difficulty Swarm Disaster run is going to depend on your team and strategy, but just like in the regular Simulated Universe, not all Aeons are created equal.

1. The Hunt

First up, the Hunt Path is incredibly powerful because of the boosts you can get to CRIT Rate, CRIT Damage, and Speed. The boss can’t hurt you if you abuse the turn order and CRIT them to death in a few turns.

2. Nihility

Next, Nihility is an underrated but still busted Path if you’re using characters like Kafka. The Path Resonance can inflict DOTs on top of the DOTs that your team is capable of, and there are plenty of Nihility Blessings that heal your team or increase the damage taken by enemies based on DOT damage. Plus, Suspicion is an often overlooked debuff that comes with the Path of Nihility, and it can launch your DOT damage to the moon.

3. Abundance

Don’t overlook the Path of Abundance, either. It’s one of the best Paths in Simulated Universe for teams that need a little bit of help with harder content, so it’s perfect if you’re struggling here. Bring Bailu or Luocha and really reap the benefits of Abundance Blessings. Your team will be impossible to kill, and healing will boost more than just your team’s HP if you choose the right Blessings and Curios.

Use Mercy to your advantage and try to select domains with Mercy already applied. This way, you can build up as many Blessings as possible before the countdown ends. Good luck, trailblazer! You’ll need it.

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered Review https://attackofthefanboy.com/reviews/the-last-of-us-part-2-remastered-review/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/reviews/the-last-of-us-part-2-remastered-review/#respond Tue, 16 Jan 2024 15:00:00 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=979197 It feels like the time between original releases and remasters grows thinner by the day. Still, not all remasters are created equal, and new content, upgrade paths, and smaller price tags can make buying the same game again feel more acceptable. Thankfully, The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is on the better end of the remaster spectrum with substantial new additions and just enough polish to make the jump to next-gen feel worthwhile.

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered coats the already beautiful PS4 game with some next-gen polish, even if it didn’t really need it. The Last of Us Part 2 looked great on last-gen hardware and already ran at 60 FPS on PlayStation 5 thanks to a patch that enhanced its backward compatibility, so a full remaster for the PS5 might seem unnecessary on the surface. However, there are enough next-gen specific features that make the (thankfully not $70) price tag feel warranted.

The-Last-of-Us-Part-2-Remastered-Ellie
Image: Naughty Dog

The main graphical additions are the new Fidelity and Performance modes. The former provides a full native 4K presentation at 30 FPS, which will help you spot the minor visual improvements added to the remastered version like increased texture resolution and better level of detail distances. The latter ups the framerate to 60 FPS at the cost of resolution, outputting at 1440p upscaled to 4K. As is the case with most performance modes on PlayStation 5, the upscaled resolution still looks exceptional compared to the native 4K picture offered by the 30 FPS mode.

The biggest game changer here is support for Variable Refresh Rate, which lets you uncap the framerate in either mode as long as your TV or monitor supports VRR. With VRR, the Fidelity mode’s framerate will hang in the high 40s and low 50s, while the Performance mode sees framerates that average around 90-100 FPS, especially in smaller combat encounters. I’ve never heard my PS5’s fans ramp up before, but running The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered at 100+ FPS in the new No Return roguelike mode made it audibly clear that this remaster was pushing the system hard.

The-Last-of-Us-Part-2-Remastered-Abby
Image: Naughty Dog

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered also comes with some little novelties that are fun to mess around with for a while, like a free play mode for the guitar that even lets you swap to different instruments and a speedrun mode that diehard fans will surely appreciate. Of course, DualSense functionality is also a minor selling point for this next-gen upgrade. The adaptive triggers make the game’s weapons feel more impactful than ever, and haptic feedback adds more than you’d think to the immersion.

The biggest addition included in The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is No Return, a roguelike survival mode that pits you against a moshpit of human and infected enemies as you work through a string of encounters with randomized rewards. You’ll start with just a pistol (or special weaponry depending on your chosen character) and you’re able to scavenge supplies during encounters and purchase new weapons and items in between rounds.

The-Last-of-Us-Part-2-Remastered-Lev-No-Return
Image: Naughty Dog

No Return is a perfect match for The Last of Us Part 2’s gameplay. The game forces you to get creative with your resources to survive, but the main campaign can feel quite restrictive. It’s hard to sacrifice a Molotov or use up your shotgun shells knowing you could scrape by with melee takedowns, even if those are the most fun options. In No Return, you don’t have to worry about saving for encounters that are hours down the line since a run typically only lasts 20-30 minutes.

It also helps that The Last of Us Part 2 just has stellar encounter design in general, so No Return reusing locations from the main campaign doesn’t feel like cutting corners. Plus, the modifiers for each stage and the different playstyles for each character help keep things fresh. Modifiers range from basic to bananas, and they can really force you to change up your strategies. There’s nothing scarier than an infected stage where they always know your location so you have Clickers constantly homing in on you, but those Clickers are also invisible. There’s a surprising amount of effort put into No Return, and it’s worth the price of admission alone.

Being able to play as characters other than Ellie and Abby is a blast, too. While not every character is exciting, most players will love playing as Tommy, Joel, and Lev. Each of their playstyles lets you narrow down your approach, too, letting you explore combat systems that you might not have been able to in the main campaign. Tommy starts with a unique sniper rifle, for example, letting you mirror his rampage through Seattle as you pop headshots and relocate to stay hidden. Joel’s playstyle is Unstoppable, giving him huge melee buffs and his signature revolver as a starting weapon.

The-Last-of-Us-Part-2-Remastered-Joel
Image: Naughty Dog

Outside of No Return, The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered also features a trio of Lost Levels that were cut from the game during development. Getting to peek behind the curtain of game development, even with highly curated slices like these, is a treat that most games wouldn’t dare offer. It’s one thing to show cut content in behind-the-scenes documentaries, but having them in a playable state is something that more games should do. These, plus the cutscene commentary from Neil Druckmann, Haley Gross, and some of the game’s main cast members, are a huge treat for fans of the series.

Overall, The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered adds some additional visual flair to a game that didn’t really need any, but its new gameplay additions make it well worth the upgrade. The Lost Levels are a fun novelty, but No Return is the true star of the show. It’s a significantly more substantial roguelike than the marketing would have you believe, and it’s worth the asking price on its own. For a budget price (and just a small upgrade fee for PS4 owners), The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is a great excuse to revisit Ellie and Abby’s story once again.

Best Spots to Get Penetration Kills in Modern Warfare 3 on Shipment, Rust, and Other Maps https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/best-spots-to-get-penetration-kills-in-modern-warfare-3/ Wed, 10 Jan 2024 22:43:55 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=969260 Getting penetration kills is one of the most annoying parts of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 camo grind, but there are a few spots you can utilize to get this challenge out of the way fast.

While camo challenges have been streamlined in MW3 (goodbye pistol longshots, you won’t be missed), there are still a few frustrating challenges left. Getting camos for LMGs and Sniper Rifles will require you to get a ton of bullet penetration kills, but you can get them done in a match or two with the right equipment and setup.

How to Get Penetration Kills in MW3

Getting a penetration kill requires you to shoot an enemy through cover or a solid object. You can’t shoot through everything in Modern Warfare 3, but you’d be surprised how many options you have. The best maps for you to farm penetration kills are Rust, Terminal, Shipment, and Highrise.

We’ve all been there, farming kills in the most specific way. It can be a frustrating experience, which is why we decided to make things easier for you. Not only do you now know the best maps to get penetration kills, but we’re also going to prevent you from having a headache by providing the exact way to complete the challenge in the easiest way possible.

Make sure you’re using armor-piercing rounds on your weapons. You can equip these in the Ammunition section of the Gunsmith when customizing your guns. Also, Hardcore mode makes this challenge much easier since things like glass windows count for penetration kills and it’s quite easy to get one-shot kills in Hardcore.

Rust Penetration Kill Spot

Rust has a great spot for farming penetration kills. If there’s a 24/7 playlist featuring the map (there usually is), then hop in and make your way to the truck in the corner of the map.

There’s a chainlink fence that runs around the edge of the map, and a bit of it sticks out just enough to where you can shoot through it while aiming through the nearby shipping container and at a frequent spawn location.

Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Since Rust is so small, enemies will continue to spawn in this lane even if you have your sights on it. You only need to get 10 penetration kills for the camo challenge, and you can easily get this done in a single match on Rust.

Terminal Penetration Kill Spot

There’s a cheeky spot on Terminal where you can camp and farm penetration kills, too. If you crouch under the plane, you can find a chainlink fence near one of its wheels. This spot has a perfect view of the tarmac where the B flag usually resides in Domination.

Call-of-Duty-Modern-Warfare-3-Terminal-Bullet-Penetration-Spot
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Shooting through that fence will net you penetration kills. Make sure you’re not too close to it (and that you don’t mount on it) since the game might not register those kills as penetration kills since the barrel of your gun will clip through it. For the most part, however, any enemy that you kill through this fence will net you a penetration kill and bring you one step closer to unlocking a new camo.

Shipment Penetration Kill Spot

Call-of-Duty-Modern-Warfare-3-Bullet-Penetration-Kills-Shipment
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

If you get lucky on Shipment, you can knock out all of your required penetration kills in a single match with a well-timed spawn trap. The diagonal crates along the map’s edges can be shot through. Just spray through the metal crates into the corner of the map where enemies spawn and you’re bound to snag a few penetration kills.

Highrise Penetration Kill Spot

Call-of-Duty-Modern-Warfare-3-Bullet-Penetration-Kills-Highrise
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

There isn’t a dedicated spot for penetration kills on Highrise, but you can get them from almost anywhere on this map. Multiple chain link fences throughout Highrise are perfect for penetration kills. The best strategy for getting penetration kills on Highrise is to look through the fences at the lowered areas near the center of the map and shoot any enemies that try to flank.

Best Equipment For Penetration Kills in MW3

  • LMGs
  • Armor-Piercing Rounds
  • Snapshot Grenades

If you’re aiming for penetration kills in MW3, certain equipment can give you an edge. Light machine guns, for instance, are a great choice. They have high bullet penetration, which is exactly what you need for this task. Also, consider trying out the best LMG in MW3.

In addition to choosing the right weapon, you’ll also want to equip armor-piercing rounds. These rounds ensure that your bullets can penetrate through walls or other structures. This is particularly useful when playing on the recommended maps for penetration kills.

Lastly, an invaluable piece of equipment for achieving penetration kills is the Snapshot Grenade. This tactical equipment can reveal enemies behind walls by providing a brief outline of their position. This allows you to accurately aim and shoot through walls before your enemies have even spotted you, increasing your chances of securing a penetration kill.

All Standard Banner Characters in Genshin Impact 4.3 https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/genshin-impact-standard-banner-characters/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/genshin-impact-standard-banner-characters/#respond Wed, 10 Jan 2024 21:09:57 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=901082 Genshin Impact features a total of three character-focused banners, two limited-time ones that rotate during each patch and star banner-exclusive 5-Star characters, and the game’s standard one — also known as Wanderlust Invocation.

But which 5- and 4-Star characters are available as part of the Standard Wanderlust Invocation Banner? Here are all the characters featured as part of the Genshin Impact Standard Banner as of version 4.3.

All Standard Banner Characters in Genshin Impact 4.3

As you might expect, Genshin Impact‘s Wanderlust Invocation banner receives new characters in almost every new major update, although they are in their large majority 4-Stars. Currently, you can pull a total of 45 different characters from it.

All Standard Banner 5-Star Characters in Genshin Impact

Genshin Impact’s Standard or Wanderlust Invocation Banner currently features Jean, Diluc, Keqing, Mona, Qiqi, Tighnari, and Dehya as its 5-Stars. Dehya was the latest 5-Star to join the banner. She debuted on version 3.6 and joined the standard selection on 3.7.

Here are all 5-Star characters currently featured as part of Genshin Impact’s Wanderlust Invocation Banner.

All Standard Banner 4-Star Characters

The game’s standard banner features all 4-Star characters released from Genshin Impact 1.0 to 4.2. The banner currently features 37 4-Star characters, but the number will go up to 38 when Pyro Polearm Chevreuse joins the selection at the end of version 4.3, Roses and Muskets. It is also highly probable that Gaming — the game’s upcoming 4-Star Pyro claymore wielder — will join the banner at the end of version 4.4.

Here are all 4-Star Genshin Standard Banner Characters:

  • Faruzan
  • Sayu
  • Heizou
  • Sucrose
  • Chongyun
  • Diona
  • Kaeya
  • Layla
  • Rosaria
  • Collei
  • Beidou
  • Dori

The Pity System on Genshin Impact triggers when you hit 90 pulls. But keep in mind that hitting that number on the Wanderlust Invocation Banner will not guarantee that you will get a 5-Star character, as you may also receive one of ten 5-Star weapons. The pull count of the Standard banner does not carry over to the event-wish ones, so I highly advise you to refrain from using Primogems on it.

Will Any Fontaine 5-Star Join the Standard Wanderlust Invocation Banner in Genshin Impact?

Although there was a lot of speculation on whether or not Wriothesley would join the selection of 5-Star characters for the standard banner after the end of version 4.2, no Fontaine 5-Star character is expected to join the Standard Wanderlust Invocation Banner in Genshin Impact anytime soon.

Is it Worth Spending Primogems in the Standard Banner?

I believe that you should save your Primogems for the game’s version-exclusive banners and only pull in the Wanderlust Invocation banner if given Acquaint Fates.

The main reason for that lies in how the 5-star characters and weapons featured in the event banners will very likely not join the Genshin Standard Banner pool. You will also have a way harder time getting your preferred 4-Stars from the standard banner, as you will have a 1 in 45 chance of getting each (if we exclude all of the 4-star weapons you can also get from it).

To help you keep tabs on your favorite character, as well as have an idea when they might return, don’t forget to also check out the whole Genshin Impact Event-Wish Banner History.

GTA Online Cayo Perico Heist: All Secondary Target Locations https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/gta-online-cayo-perico-heist-all-secondary-targets-locations-map/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/gta-online-cayo-perico-heist-all-secondary-targets-locations-map/#respond Thu, 04 Jan 2024 20:19:25 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=761889 The Cayo Perico Heist in GTA Online has many secondary targets you can steal in addition to the Madrazo files, which can increase the heist payout significantly. The only problem is that you must find them yourself, which can be a massive pain with the guards roaming everywhere.

To make matters worse, the items and spawn locations are randomized for every player, so certain places where some players can find loot will be empty for others. Here are all the secondary targets for the Cayo Perico Heist in GTA Online.

All Secondary Targets in the GTA Online Cayo Perico Heist

There are more than 20 secondary targets in the Cayo Perico Heist, meaning you can bring home much more than just the Madrazo files. Getting out with millions in valuables will be difficult, but it’s doable with a coordinated team. Scoping the island out is the first step, however, and goods are hidden everywhere. You can see the spawn locations in the video below, or keep reading for detailed descriptions of secondary target spawn locations.

Related: How to Do the No Bra Glitch in GTA Online

Camera Secondary Targets

There are five secondary targets in the Cayo Perico Heist: Cocaine, Weed, Gold, Art, and Cash. These items can be found scattered throughout the Cayo Perico island, although their locations will be random for every player. There is a list of set spawn locations for these targets, but remember that some of these will be empty due to their random nature. Also, Cash and Gold are interchangeable and can spawn in the exact locations, so this guide will simply refer to them as “Loot” when discussing potential spawn locations.

The first step is to check the island’s cameras for things you can steal. Pull up your in-game smartphone and open the Sightseer app to access the security camera network. Here are all the secondary targets you can find on the Cayo Perico cameras:

  • Basement – Primary Target
  • Basement Storage – Two Loot/Two Paintings
  • Office Cam 1 – One Painting
  • Office Cam 2 – One Painting
  • West Storage Cam 1 – One Loot/One Painting
  • West Storage Cam 2 – One Loot
  • North Storage Cam 1 – One Loot/Painting
  • North Storage Cam 2 – One Loot
  • South Storage Cam 1 – One Loot
  • South Storage Cam 2 – One Loot/Painting

Be sure to fully scope out each room by rotating the cameras as far as you can left and right so you don’t miss anything.

Airstrip Secondary Targets

Six possible secondary targets in the Airstrip in the northwestern part of the Cayo Perico island exist.

  • Directly inside of the hangar (2)
  • Hidden at the top of a ladder in the hangar (2)
  • In a building south of the pilot (2)

Secondary targets typically spawn on top of tables hidden out of reach behind chainlink fences. Each spawns in pairs, so snap pictures of both items in each area. Again, spawns are random for everyone, so some tables might be empty, and the targets could be different every time.

North Dock Secondary Targets

There are five possible secondary targets in the North Dock to the east of the Airstrip of the Cayo Perico island.

  • In the southernmost building near a security camera (3)
  • In a building near the northeastern security camera by the grappling hook (2)

There are a lot of valuable items here, like bolt cutters, a grappling hook, and guard clothing, but the valuables are the main attraction. Watch out for the guards and security cameras.

GTA-Online-Cayo-Perico-Heist-4

Central Complex Secondary Targets

Nine possible secondary targets in the Central Complex are located in the heart of the Cayo Perico island.

  • In a shed north of the security camera overlooking the main road (2)
  • Behind a gate in the northwestern part of the Central Complex by a security camera (3)
  • In a T-shaped building across from the Main Dock by the bend in the road (2)
  • In a small shed just south of the Main Dock to the west of a security camera (2)

If we’re missing any secondary targets for the Cayo Perico Heist, let us know in the comments below, and we’ll update this article accordingly. The Cayo Perico Heist is available now in GTA Online on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

How to Get the Let Her Cook Achievement in Honkai Star Rail https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/how-to-get-the-let-her-cook-achievement-in-honkai-star-rail/ Tue, 02 Jan 2024 21:48:30 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=976614 Achievements are an easy way to get free Stellar Jades in Honkai Star Rail, and fan-favorite four-star character Hanya has a special achievement that doesn’t require much work to attain.

In the Eager for Battle section of Honkai Star Rail‘s achievement list, there’s an achievement called Let Her Cook that requires you to stop and listen to Hanya’s prattling. The flavor text fits Hanya’s character, sure, but it doesn’t really help that much if you don’t already know what to do. Thankfully, it’s very easy to get this achievement as long as you have Hanya on your roster.

How to Get “Let Her Cook” in Honkai Star Rail

To get the Let Her Cook achievement, all you need to do is watch Hanya’s idle animation play out in full. Hanya has multiple voice lines for her idle animation and the achievement will only unlock after you’ve heard all of them. It takes roughly two minutes of standing still for Hanya to finish her entire routine. Just set her as your active character and stand somewhere safe.

Honkai-Star-Rail-Hanya
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

If you don’t have Hanya, then there’s a workaround to get this achievement. If you choose Hanya as a support character for a Stagnant Shadow, you’ll be able to walk around with her even if you don’t own her on your account. Just sort the list of support characters by Physical and you’ll eventually find someone who’s sharing their Hanya after a few refreshes. This also works if there’s an active character trial for Hanya as well, so you won’t have to rely on strangers if she’s featured on an active banner.

Related: Is the Express Star Pass Worth It in Honkai Star Rail?

Once Hanya runs through all of her voice lines (remember there are multiple for the same animations), you’ll unlock the achievement and be able to claim a whopping 5 Stellar Jades. It’s not much, but all of the rewards from earning achievements will add up over time. You never know when you’ll just be a few Jades short of a 10-pull.

Honkai Star Rail Curio Hacker: Organic Heart and Mysterious Magnetism Explained https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/honkai-star-rail-curio-hacker-organic-heart-and-mysterious-magnetism-explained/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/honkai-star-rail-curio-hacker-organic-heart-and-mysterious-magnetism-explained/#respond Tue, 02 Jan 2024 21:09:12 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=976588 The Simulated Universe is filled with surprises in Honkai Star Rail. In the standard mode and expansion modules alike, Trailblazers can encounter Occurrences that present them with important choices during runs.

One such Occurrence is the Curio Hacker, which can show up in the Gold and Gears module of the Simulated Universe added in Honkai Star Rail Version 1.6. It’s a permanent addition, though, so it’ll be available forever alongside the Swarm Disaster and other expansions. So, what’s the best course of action when encountering the Curio Hacker in Honkai Star Rail?

What is the Curio Hacker in Honkai Star Rail?

Curio Hacker is an Occurrence in Honkai Star Rail’s Simulated Universe. It only appears in the Gold and Gears module so you can’t find it in standard worlds or the Swarm Distaster module, but you can still earn Stellar Jades by adding it to your Index after your first encounter.

Attempting to recreate Herta’s Curios, the Curio Hacker presents you with a choice. You can have either the Organic Heart or the Mysterious Magnetism, but you can’t have both. You can also walk away with neither if you’re not willing to take the risk. Both Curios are free, but they come with downsides.

What Do the Organic Heart and Mysterious Magnetism Do?

Honkai-Star-Rail-Organic-Heart-Mysterious-Magnetism-Curios
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

The best Curio for you between the two depends on your preferences and how your current Simulated Universe run is going. If you’re already struggling, then it’s best to just ignore the offer and continue on. If you’re up for a challenge, though, then both Curios offer bonus rewards at a price.

Related: Honkai Star Rail Cosmic Big Lotto Curio Explained

The Organic Heart Curio prevents the golden Dice Face from appearing when rolling the dice. Once the dice have been rolled four times, the Curio will be destroyed and grant you two cheat attempts. The Mysterious Magnetism, on the other hand, immediately transforms the next Combat Domain into an Elite Domain. After entering two Combat or Elite Domains, the Curio is destroyed and grants you 200 Cosmic Fragments.

Should You Choose Organic Heart or Mysterious Magnetism?

Basically, the Organic Heart Curio removes some of the excitement from the dice mechanic in Gold and Gears, but after a few rolls, you’ll get some bonus cheat attempts. The Mysterious Magnetism Curio makes your next two combat encounters much harder, but you’ll get some bonus Cosmic Fragments if you succeed.

Unless you’re really struggling with your ongoing Simulated Universe run, you should absolutely take one of these Curios. Cheat attempts are very valuable in Gold and Gears, so the Organic Heart Curio is a huge help as long as you won’t miss the golden Dice Face. If you’d rather leave the dice alone, then the Mysterious Magnetism is an easy pick since Elite Domains aren’t super hard if you have a decent team with good Blessings.

All Standard Banner Characters in Honkai Star Rail 1.6 https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/honkai-star-rail-standard-banner-characters/ Tue, 02 Jan 2024 21:00:00 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=952358 While the limited event banners are exciting, the standard Stellar Warp banner in Honkai Star Rail still has some of the best characters in the game. Not only does it have the initial set of 5-Star characters from 1.0 that haven’t received their own featured banners yet, but most of the 4-Star characters available in the game on top of that. If the current event banner isn’t your thing, you can always use your Stellar Jades (or saved-up Star Rail Passes) on the standard banner to do some real gambling.

Just like in Genshin Impact, the characters available from the standard banner change with each patch. Some new characters are added, and some are taken away. Most of the characters are included right now, but as the game’s roster grows to match Genshin’s, it’s unlikely that everyone will remain.

All Stellar Warp Characters in Honkai Star Rail

honkai-star-rail-himeko
Image: Hoyoverse

Currently, the standard banner in Honkai Star Rail features nearly every 4-Star character and most of the 5-Stars in the game as of Version 1.6. Here’s a full list of everyone that you can get from Stellar Warp:

4-Star Standard Banner Characters

  • March 7th
  • Dan Heng
  • Asta
  • Arlan
  • Natasha
  • Pela
  • Hook
  • Serval
  • Qingque
  • Herta
  • Tingyun
  • Sushang
  • Sampo
  • Yukong
  • Luka
  • Guinaifen
  • Lynx

5-Star Standard Banner Characters

  • Himeko
  • Clara
  • Bronya
  • Gepard
  • Bailu
  • Welt
  • Yanqing

That’s a whopping 22 characters that you can pull, with 7 of them being 5-Stars. New 4-Star characters are added to the game in the patch following their debut. For example, Luka was released during Version 1.2 alongside Kafka’s debut. He is now included in the standard Stellar Warp as of Patch 1.5.

Related: Honkai Star Rail Huohuo: Release Date, Banner, Kit, and Leaks

New 5-Star characters are currently unavailable outside of their event banner, so you’ll have to wait for a rerun if you missed out on characters like Seele, Silver Wolf, or Blade. New 5-Stars have been added to the Genshin Impact standard banner over time, however, so it’s likely that Honkai Star Rail will follow suit once reruns start happening and the roster gets more fleshed out.

How to Do the No Bra Glitch in GTA Online https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/how-to-do-the-no-bra-glitch-in-gta-online/ Tue, 02 Jan 2024 20:47:40 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=976566 While Grand Theft Auto Online has a huge range of clothing items and accessories, some players have a more unique fashion sense. This glitch will let you remove your GTA Online character’s bra when wearing certain jackets.

GTA Online No Bra Glitch Guide

This glitch is super easy to perform and works on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC as of the latest GTA Online patch. Sometimes your character’s appearance will be reverted back to normal after loading into a new lobby or playing a misson, but you can easily redo the glitch to fix your look again.

To get started, head to any clothing store. Approach the main cashier counter and browse the premade outfits. Choose Business Skirts and then select The 9-5. When wearing this outfit, find a space to browse tops and choose any jacket. Denim jackets work best with this glitch, but some players can make it work with other types. You’ll easily be able to tell if the glitch worked since your character won’t have a shirt on underneath the jacket.

Related: How to AFK in GTA Online Without Getting Kicked (2023)

To maintain the look, just save it as a custom outfit at the cashier counter or your apartment. You’ll then be able to swap between this outfit and your other styles from the interaction menu at any time. If the glitch stops working after you load into a new session or log out of GTA Online, just use the interaction menu to swap outfits.

How to Do the Topless Glitch in GTA Online

Image: Rockstar Games

There’s a more complicated glitch that lets you replicate these effects without wearing a jacket. If you’re that desperate, here’s what you need to do.

First, wear the outfit that you want to do the glitch on. You cannot change the outfit once the glitch is done, so make sure you have everything set up the right way before getting started. All that will change is the shirt being removed. Everything else, including accessories, will remain.

To start the glitch, create a new male GTA Online character. As the male, head to a Binco Clothing store and equip the following clothing items.

  • Party Shirts: Burgundy Garland Shortsleeve
  • Shorts: SN Swim Shorts
  • Sneakers: Pink Plain Hi Tops
  • Gloves: Light Woodland Tactical

Make sure that these are the only clothes that you have equipped (no accessories!) and then save the outfit in the second saved outfit slot at the cashier counter. Name it “Shirt” to keep track of it. Now, it’s time to make a second outfit with the following clothes.

  • Leather Jackets: Leopard Leather Fur Jacket
  • Tank Tops: Yellow Striped Tank
  • Shorts: SN Swim Shorts
  • Chains: Bronze Coin Pendant
  • Gloves: Light Woodland Tactical
  • Sneakers: Pink Plain Hi Tops

Save the outfit in the third slot just below the other one you made and name it “Jacket” to keep track of it. Then, take the easy way out to make your character respawn. Rockstar removed this from the interaction menu in a recent patch, so you’ll need to find it in the Online menu. Once you respawn, pause the game and open the Creator. Choose to create a Race and then choose the tutorial.

GTA-Online-Drifting
Image: Rockstar Games

Choose yes to start the Tutorial and then immediately pause and select Choose Character from the Online menu. At the selection screen, delete the male character that you’ve been using and then return to GTA V’s story mode. From there, head to an Invite Only GTA Online session.

Once you’re in a private lobby, save your current outfit in the very bottom slot while at your apartment. Name it “Outfit” so you know it’s your existing one. Next, equip the Black Stuntman Suit found in the Luxury category of premade outfits and then save it as a custom outfit in the very first slot above the two that you made as the male character. Name it “Stuntman.” From there, equip any Bodysuit.

Related: GTA Online Career Builder Guide: Which Criminal Career Should You Choose?

The next part is tricky, so it might take a few tries. In your apartment, find the telescope. Run past it horizontally (moving parallel with the windows) and your character will stop running because of an invisible collision wall in front of the telescope where you would normally look into it. If your character doesn’t stop and continues past the telescope, you’ll know that it didn’t work. When your character stops running, equip the Black Stuntman Suit outfit that you just saved.

Now, head back to your wardrobe and equip these clothing items.

  • Mini Dresses: Black Mini Dress
  • Bikinis: Black Bikini
  • Gloves: Black Fingerless Gloves

Remove the helmet and resave this outfit in the first custom slot, overwriting the Black Stuntman Suit look. Next, start the Point and Shoot Job. This is a Contact Mission for Lamar from the Lowriders update, so you should be able to find it easily from the Job menu. Once you reach the settings menu before matchmaking starts, choose Player Saved Outfits in the Clothing section and then select Confirm Settings.

Invite someone to the session (make sure Matchmaking is set to Closed so randoms can’t join) and then choose the “Jacket” outfit you made as your temporary male character. It should look glitched and your character’s body should be clipping through it. Launch the Job and then head to an Ammu-Nation store. Save the outfit in the first slot over the “Stuntman” outfit and then delete “Shirt” and “Jacket” from your saved list.

GTA-Online-LS-Tuners
Image: Rockstar Games

Once they’re gone and your glitched outfit is saved, open your phone and select Job List to quit the mission and return to free roam. You should still be inside Ammu-Nation when you find a session. Browse the preset outfits inside the Ammu-Nation store and select The Fumigator outfit from the Heist Coveralls category.

At this point, you’re nearly done. Head back to your apartment and do the telescope glitch again. Remember, you need to run in front of the telescope until your character hits an invisible wall and stops in their tracks. When they stop, equip the “Stuntman” outfit from the first slot. Head to your wardrobe and resave the outfit in the first slot. There’s no need to rename it or change anything for now.

Related: All GTA Online Crime Scene Locations

Once that’s done, open the interaction menu and navigate to the Style section where you can change outfits. From there, repeatedly select the “Stuntman” outfit. Eventually, a yellow circle will appear in the bottom right corner of the screen that indicates that the game is saving. When that circle shows up, leave GTA Online from the Online menu.

This will bring you back to story mode. Now, just completely exit Grand Theft Auto V and restart the game. Load back into GTA Online and spam select the outfit again just like you did before. Once you see the yellow circle, start the A Titan of a Job mission. It’s at the very top of the Missions section of the Jobs list since it’s in alphabetical order.

GTA-Online-Salvage-Yard
Image: Rockstar Games

Once you’re in the Job, head to an Ammu-Nation store. Open the interaction menu and head to the Style section. Choose Accessories and then equip and unequip the LCD Earpiece. Save the outfit in the “Stuntman” slot once more and then quit the Job using your phone. Back in a free roam session but still in the Ammu-Nation store, wear any of the preset Prison Guard outfits or Gruppe Sechs uniforms. Once you’re wearing a uniform, start the Point and Shoot Job from earlier and repeat the setup steps until you reach the outfit selection.

At this point, change your Owned Outfit from Current to “Stuntman” and start the mission. Head back to Ammu-Nation and save the outfit in the first “Stuntman” slot to overwrite it for the last time. Finally, the topless glitched outfit will be saved permanently and you can rename the saved slot to whatever you like. Editing the outfit at all will undo the glitch, so don’t ever change it. If you want to edit your topless outfit, you’ll need to do the entire glitch all over again with a different set of clothes.

How to Collect Rare or Better Weapons at a Hot Spot in Fortnite https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/how-to-collect-rare-or-better-weapons-at-a-hot-spot-in-fortnite/ Tue, 02 Jan 2024 20:21:52 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=976547 Hot Spots are a minor mechanic in Fortnite most players don’t pay much attention to, but a recent Chapter 5 quest requires you to collect rare or better weapons after landing at one.

Most of Fortnite‘s weekly quests are simple affairs, and the Hot Spot quest is no exception once you figure out exactly what it means. Hot Spots are a great way to speed up the early phases of a Fortnite match, securing some good loot for yourself within the first few minutes of leaving the Battle Bus. Since they’re full of great gear, collecting a rare weapon shouldn’t be too difficult.

What Are Hot Spots in Fortnite?

Hot Spots are POIs that have gold names at the start of a Fortnite match. They’re home to floating supply drones that drop crates of loot when destroyed. To collect rare or better weapons, just shoot a few of these drones and grab whatever they drop.

Fortnite-Chapter-5-1

Since Hot Spots are popular landing choices for the sweatiest Fortnite players, finding and collecting all 7 weapons to complete this weekly quest might be a bit challenging in a single match. Thankfully, this quest’s progress tracks across multiple matches in case you get eliminated while looting.

While supply drones are the best sources of rare loot at Hot Spots, normal chests and floor loot will still count for this quest as well. Don’t forget to eliminate other players and take their loot, too. This method is even easier since they’ll have already done the looting for you. Also, remember that the available Hot Spots change every match, so your favorite POI might not have any supply drones the next time you jump in.

Most of the boss-related POIs will usually be Hot Spots in any given Fortnite match, so defeating them and taking their Society Medallion to gain access to their vault is also a great way to easily complete this quest. Vaults are filled with a ton of powerful loot and Mod Benches, so you can add or remove attachments for your favorite weapons. Plenty of Fortnite quests require you to have fully loaded weapons or a specific attachment setup, so make use of these benches to easily gain some XP.

Massive Bamboo Forest with Nearby Desert

Minecraft-Panda-Seed

Sometimes, bamboo can be hard to find in Minecraft, but this seed has some right at spawn. It spawns you in the middle of a giant bamboo forest bordering a desert biome, so you can stock up on all the bamboo you could ever want. Once you’ve filled the forest, you can set out into the desert and try your hand at taming some wild camels and trading with the inhabitants of the nearby desert villages.

Structured Beach Spawn

Hidden Dangers Beneath a Beautiful Mountain

Minecraft-1.20-Hidden-Dangers

Seed: 4148062705

Though many Ancient City seeds have been mentioned so far in this list, this seed has the most by far. Easy Diamonds

Minecraft-1.20-Easy-Diamonds

Seed: 3057310577815726585

Finding diamonds is one of the most challenging tasks to accomplish in Minecraft, but this seed makes it easy. Once you spawn, head to the coordinates x = 90, y = -31, z = -250, and dig straight down. Be careful for many monsters or hazards that might be in your way. Soon, you’ll find an 18-block vein of diamonds just waiting to be mined. So, what are you waiting for? Grab a pickaxe and start chipping!

Swamp Village

Minecraft-1.20-Swamp-Villager

Seed: 3120030642055897519

If you’re looking for something more Resident Evil 7 than Minecraft, this is the seed for you. You’ll spawn in the middle of a village entrenched in a swamp, complete with villagers covered in moss. This seed is an excellent pick if you want to spice up how your villages look.

Mangrove Swamp Outpost

Minecraft-1.20-Mangrove-Swamp

Seed: 3546842701776989958

Mangroves are some of the most fun areas to explore in the latest Minecraft updates. In this seed, you start in a mangrove swamp. You’ll be able to find all sorts of frogs, tons of wood, and other mangrove staples. If you are looking for a chill, swampy adventure, this is the seed for you. You and your friends can each claim part of the swamp and start a Shrek-sim.

Warring Village

Minecraft-1.20-Double-Zombie-Village

Seed: -2026056882361087672

If you want a nice twist on the typical “spawn in a village” seed, then this seed is right for you. This seed has two villages, one normal and one infested with zombies. The two are separated by a massive ravine, so you can spend some time preparing and trading before you cross the expanse and begin slaying the undead.

Badlands Coral Cave

Minecraft-1.20-Bandlands-Coral-Cave

Seed: 5488656216511509290

This beautiful badlands cliff face houses a beautiful secret. Hidden in the coral-filled waters beneath the cliff is an opening leading you to a multilayer lush cave. Lush caves are rare biomes filled with valuable materials and harvestable plants, so having one so close to start can give new players a significant advantage.

Dripstone Mountain

Minecraft-1.20-Dripstone-Cave-Mountain

Seed: -7004127736181028064

Mining is the beating heart of Minecraft, and this seed gives you access to just about every mineral in the game. Near spawn is a giant mountain with a vast network of dripstone caves, which can be easily accessed with some digging. While there are still mobs to contend with, this seed offers one of the safest ways to get dripstone a Minecraft player can ask for.

Badlands, Desert Savannah Village

Minecraft-1.20-Desert-Badlands-Savanna-Spawn

Seed: 9119209733656660220

This seed spawns you in the middle of a patch of land where badlands, deserts, and savannah meet. If you enter the desert, you’ll find a couple of desert ruins you can excavate. On top of that, there’s a village nearby where you can trade and gather essential resources.

Woodland Mansion with a Few Huts

Minecraft-1.20-Woodland-Mansion

Seed: -9215772017318341931

If you walk a short distance from spawn, you’ll find a woodland mansion surrounded by huts, making it seem like the mansion and the huts are part of a shared community. Woodland mansions can contain rare items and materials, so head in once you’ve got some essential gear and see what you can find.

Winter Wonderland Village

Minecraft-1.20-Winter-Wonderland-Village

Seed: 5975401629402236175

We’ve mentioned a few great seeds for almost every biome except for snow. This seed is the perfect winter wonderland. You’ll spawn close to a frozen village surrounded by towering glaciers. If you’re looking for a unique place to build your base and don’t mind the cold, this is easily one of the best seeds.

Village Near Abandoned Mineshaft

Minecraft-Abandoned-Mineshaft

Seed: 7173685295286599792

Like most other seeds on this list, this one has a village right at spawn, but an exposed mineshaft nearby separates this seed from the others. If you go to the desert biome a few blocks from your spawn point, you’ll come across a ravine with multiple waterfalls, some lava pits, and an abandoned mineshaft. The mineshaft even has a few chests strewn about with rare items and materials, making it worth the trek into the depths.

Best Fortnite Chapter 5 Map Codes for XP Farming https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/best-fortnite-chapter-5-map-codes-for-xp-farming/ Tue, 02 Jan 2024 16:10:00 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=974698 Leveling up the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 Battle Pass can take a ton of time, but there are a ton of XP glitches this season that will help you get Peter Griffin and other skins in no time. As always, Creative maps are one of the easiest ways to get XP in Fortnite, and there are plenty of Chapter 5 map codes already available.

How to Farm XP With Fortnite Creative Maps

When playing Creative maps in Fortnite, you’ll earn chunks of XP just for spending time in the mode. This is the official way of leveling up in Fortnite Creative, but the XP gains are slow and your growth is capped daily.

Related: How to Do the Fortnite Festival XP Glitch (Even Without the Quest)

That’s where special Creative XP maps come into play. Map creators have come up with glitches and exploits that allow you to earn bonus XP just by being AFK in their maps. Some of them will let you complete the Battle Pass in a matter of hours just by sitting still, while other maps have a ton of XP coins and other things within them that grant you thousands upon thousands of XP for playing them.

Best AFK Glitch XP Map (8584-8379-5621)

In this map, turn around from spawn and jump out of the door to the platform below. Take as many Grapplers as you can and then return to spawn using the nearby portal. Then, wait until the giant timer on the wall runs out.

Related: 14 Best Fortnite Icon Skins, Ranked

Once the timer hits zero, aim at the line on the ground between the golden vending machines a little to the left of the timer. This will reveal a hidden interact prompt that gives you a key. Take a bunch of them and then head back to the lower platform where you can use the key to open a locked door. Inside, look at the ceiling for a hidden button that activates the AFK XP glitch.

AFK Christmas 1v1s Map (2999-1211-8944)

This map has a very simple glitch method. Spawn in and head to the checkered platform where you’ll find an XP glitch button. Don’t click it though. Instead, interact with the Purple Pit FFA map next to it. Once you load into the purple arena, head to the healing vending machines and emote in the corner near the Flopper machine. Then, just wait for the timer to expire and enter 777 as the secret code to start the AFK XP glitch.

Exotics vs Mythics XP Exploit (2264-7801-0437)

This is another easy XP exploit. Just enter the map and head to the center of the area. Use an emote underneath the staircase on the right to reveal a hidden button. Interact with it and wait for the timer to expire. Then, just put 592 as the secret code to activate AFK XP. You’ll also be brought to a new area with hidden buttons for even more XP.

Glitched 1v1 Arena AFK XP Map (6436-0925-1981)

This map has a ton of free XP for you. Load into the map and turn around to find a hidden button inside a present next to the phone booth. Use it to activate AFK XP gains. To get even more XP, head down to the main area of the map and interact with another hidden button underneath the red ramp. There are several more XP switches hidden throughout the map, so build around and check every nook and cranny to maximize your growth.

Attack of the Fanboy’s Game of the Year 2023 https://attackofthefanboy.com/articles/attack-of-the-fanboys-game-of-the-year-2023/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/articles/attack-of-the-fanboys-game-of-the-year-2023/#respond Fri, 22 Dec 2023 23:05:13 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=976069 2023 was an exceptional year for video games. We got a huge mix of highly-anticipated sequels and breakout hits that made it hard to keep up with everything that came out. This year, it felt like there was a new hot game that came out of nowhere every other week. No matter your taste in games, there was something for you to play.

This year, quantity matched quality. Sure, there were a few standout stinkers like The Day Before, but practically everything that came out this year could have made the list of contenders for someone’s game of the year. The Attack of the Fanboy team certainly had differing opinions on 2023’s best, but we ultimately came together to decide on the best games of the year.

Honorable Mention: Spider-Man 2

Marvels-Spider-Man-2-review
Image: Insomniac Games

Even in a year loaded with some of the most inventive games in recent memory, you just can’t beat the classics. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is a somewhat safe sequel, but it’s packed with even more love and care for the character than the first game. In our review, we wrote “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 takes the exact formula from the first games and improves upon it thanks to better UI, better villains, a better story, a bigger world, Web Wings, and two Spider-Men. Though the combat is still repetitive, this is peak Spider-Man.”

This game is yet another example of why Insomniac Games is one of the most talented development studios in the industry. It’s able to expand upon ideas that most thought were played out and deepen mechanics that had seemingly reached their peak. The traversal and combat mechanics are so good in Spider-Man 2 that they make it hard to revisit the first game, and that’s an achievement all on its own.

Honorable Mention: Starfield

Starfield-Poster
Image: Bethesda Softworks

There’s a lot that can be said about Bethesda’s highly-anticipated space RPG Starfield. Discourse aside, Starfield is a reminder of why the Bethesda RPG formula is so beloved. The game also has some interesting ideas about blending its narrative and gameplay mechanics, and while not everything lands, it’s hard not to love Starfield for what it tries to do.

In our review of Starfield, we wrote “It would not be a stretch to say this could be one of the most ambitious games ever made, and that it followed through with many of those goals with relatively low compromise. For those fearing this game was Bethesda flying too close to the sun, this is a reminder that this same ambition, mixed with lots of caution and expertise, is also what put us on the moon.”

Game of the Year Runner-Up: Alan Wake 2

Alan-Wake-2-Review
Image: Remedy Entertainment

Who would’ve thought that a sequel over a decade in the making would end up becoming one of the most beloved games of the year? In our review of Alan Wake 2, we wrote “Alan Wake 2 is an ambitious, shockingly loaded, and intense sequel. It’s clear why Sam Lake considered this to be his passion project. Lake, along with Kyle Rowley, has successfully directed a tremendous game, with particular highlights being the visual storytelling, the visuals themselves, and the deliberate nature of Alan Wake 2’s gameplay.”

Alan Wake 2 is an exceptionally interesting multimedia experiment that draws influence from everything and everywhere in a way only video games can. While it doesn’t land every one of its punches, the game has so much character, charm, and personality that it’s hard not to think of the game as an old friend after the credits roll.

Attack of the Fanboy GOTY 2023: Baldur’s Gate 3

Baldurs-Gate-3-Deluxe-Edition-Worth-It
Image: Larian Studios Games

2023 was such a standout year that most people had their GOTYs locked in by the first half of the year. Then Baldur’s Gate 3 happened. While Larian’s ambitious sequel began life in early access three years ago (on both Steam and Google Stadia, to put the timeline in perspective), nobody could have predicted the absolute chokehold it would have on the gaming industry at the time of its full release.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is a testament to why we love video games. It offers an unprecedented amount of player freedom and choice, with the developers creating instances so specific and branching paths so large that they would give any project manager a heart attack. Not only does Baldur’s Gate 3 outclass other games in the genre (which already offer spectacular levels of choice and freedom), but it also marries that freedom with insanely high production value and a budget that is unheard of for games like this.

It’s a game that we reviewed twice (on both PC and PlayStation 5) and gave a perfect score to both times. That should say enough about the game’s quality, but a 5-star review doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of how great Baldur’s Gate 3 is.

Above all else, Baldur’s Gate was a risk. It was a risk taken by people who love video games, a risk taken by people who know what this medium is capable of. Its influence will be felt throughout video games for the next few decades. Baldur’s Gate 3 is lightning in a bottle, and it’s unlikely that we’ll see anything like it for quite some time.

Best Ways to Farm Nourishing Extract in Monster Hunter World https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/best-ways-to-farm-nourishing-extract-in-monster-hunter-world/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/best-ways-to-farm-nourishing-extract-in-monster-hunter-world/#respond Mon, 18 Dec 2023 18:05:14 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=975149 Nourishing Extract is an ingredient in Monster Hunter World used to craft helpful items like Ancient Potions, Mega Demondrug, and Mega Armorskin. It’s a pain to farm, though. Thankfully, there are easier ways to stock up on the things you need.

How to Get Nourishing Extract in MHW

The primary way of obtaining Nourishing Extract is by hunting Odogaron, Dodogama, or Paolumu. Defeating any of these three monsters has a chance to drop Nourishing Extract, and any quests or investigations centered around these monsters also have a chance to drop them as bonus rewards.

Monster-Hunter_-World_20180127221009-min
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Investigations with plenty of silver and gold rewards are the best ways to get Nourishing Extract via hunting. They have a roughly 15% average chance to drop as a hunt reward or investigation reward.

This method can take a long time if you’re trying to amass a large collection of Nourishing Extract, however, but if you’re just after the result of Mega Demondrug and Mega Armorskin, you don’t have to hunt at all.

Related: Monster Hunter Rise PS5 Review

How to Meld Mega Demondrug and Mega Armorskin

There’s no need to farm Nourishing Extract since you can just meld Mega Demondrug and Mega Armorskin at the Elder Melder. Instead of farming Odogaron, Dodogama, or Paolumu, just hunt the Great Jagras over and over. You can exchange Great Jagras Mane and other Great Jagras materials at the Elder Melder in exchange for a bunch of items.

Monster-Hunter-World-PC-2
Image: Capcom

While you won’t get Mega Demondrug or Mega Armorskin 100% of the time, this method is much easier than hunting the select few monsters that have a chance of dropping Nourishing Extract. Plus, you’ll also end up with other useful items like traps, potions, and tranq bombs. On top of that, you’ll also get rare items that are impossible to get via other methods like Dash Juice and Screamer Pod, which have frustratingly difficult-to-obtain crafting materials just like Mega Demondrug and Mega Armorskin do.

Related: Every Monster Hunter Game Ranked

Melding is Your Best Friend in Monster Hunter World!

If you ever find yourself in a situation where you need to farm a tough monster for a crafting material that has a super low drop rate, there’s a good chance that you can just meld what you’re looking for instead of wasting hours grinding away. Unless you also need drops from a specific monster to craft armor pieces or a new weapon, there’s no need to fight something over and over again to grind for consumable items.

How to Use Fortnite Jam Tracks in Battle Royale as Emotes https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/how-to-use-fortnite-jam-tracks-in-battle-royale-as-emotes/ Mon, 18 Dec 2023 16:40:00 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=973719 Fortnite Festival is Epic Games’ take on Rock Band, and while the newly-added Jam Tracks are mainly meant to be used in that mode, they can also be used in other Fortnite modes as standard emotes.

Jam Tracks are purchasable in the Item Shop for 500 V-Bucks each. Once you’ve purchased them, you can play those songs in Fortnite Festival even when they’re not in the free daily rotation. You’re also free to use them on the Jam Stage where you can mix and match vocals, drums, and other instruments with other players to create your tunes. That’s also possible in battle royale and other modes, so here’s how to use your Jam Tracks in all Fortnite modes.

How to Equip Jam Tracks in Fortnite

Fortnite-Jam-Tracks
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

To use your Jam Tracks in any Fortnite mode, you first need to equip them in your Locker. You can have 8 of them active at one time. There are a few free original ones created by Epic Games, but the licensed songs by artists like The Weeknd and Billie Eilish have to be purchased in the Item Shop. Equipping a Jam Track will give you access to its vocals, drums, bass, and lead instrument tracks so you don’t need to equip those individually.

Related: How to Complete Match Quests in Fortnite

How to Use Jam Tracks as Battle Royale Emotes

Fortnite-Festival-Jam-Stage
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Once you have some Jam Tracks equipped, a new section will be added to your emote wheel titled Locked Jam Loops. It’s located to the left of your Locker Emotes. You can use Jam Tracks just like any other emote this way, swapping between instruments at will. It’s perfect for hitting the Buddy Holly guitar riff on someone after pumping them in a battle royale.

Other players can join in too, mixing their Jam Tracks with yours. You can freely adjust the tempo and key too, just like you can on the Fortnite Festival Jam Stage. Other players still have to buy their own Jam Tracks though, so they can’t just join in like they can with the Master of Puppets emote.

If you’re trying to flex on an opponent with the Buddy Holly riff or combine Mr. Brightside and Gangnam Style like players have been doing in viral clips, then keep in mind that people won’t be able to hear your Jam Tracks if they have copyrighted music disabled in their settings. If that’s the case, they’ll see the animation of you performing, but there won’t be any audio.

Remember that people need to be close to you in order to hear your Jam Tracks, too. If you snipe someone from across the map and then start performing a Lady Gaga song, for example, they won’t be able to hear it unless they start spectating you. The circle that surrounds you when performing a Jam Track shows the radius in which people can hear it.

All GTA Online Crime Scene Locations https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/all-gta-online-crime-scene-locations/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/all-gta-online-crime-scene-locations/#respond Thu, 14 Dec 2023 19:49:24 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=974443 Crime Scenes are a type of random event you can find throughout the world of GTA Online. They’re involved in a handful of quests, like unlocking the Service Carbine, but you’ll also need to find one to unlock the trade price for the new police cruiser.

If you want a discounted rate for the Stainer LE Cruiser in GTA Online, you just need to find and collect evidence from one of these Crime Scenes. If you’ve ever hunted for random events in GTA Online, however, then you know how frustrating this is going to be. Grab a helicopter or a fast car and get ready to scour every inch of Los Santos and Blaine County.

GTA Online Crime Scene Locations Map

GTA-Online-Crime-Scene-Locations-Map
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

There are 10 Crime Scene locations in GTA Online. You can find 6 of them in the city of Los Santos and 4 of them in the northern half of the map in Blaine County. You can find them randomly spawning in the following locations:

  • Alamo Sea
  • Chumash
  • Del Perro Beach
  • Elysian Island
  • Grapeseed
  • La Mesa
  • Paleto Bay
  • Ron Alternatives Wind Farm
  • Strawberry
  • West Vinewood

Crime Scenes are random events, so they might not spawn when you’re looking for them. You’ll most likely have to visit multiple potential Crime Scene locations to find evidence.

As you approach a Crime Scene, the minimap will flash and a blue dot will appear to guide you toward the right spot. The evidence you’re looking for is a small, glowing item with a numbered marker on the ground next to it. The police don’t take too kindly to people encroaching on an active Crime Scene, however, so be prepared for a shootout.

If you’re having trouble getting a Crime Scene to spawn, then there’s an easy route to take. Start from the Crime Scene spawn location on Vespucci Beach and then drive east to the one in Vinewood. From there, continue east until you reach the Crime Scene spawn location in La Mesa. Just drive back and forth between these 3 spots with a fast car until one eventually does spawn.

If you’re just after the trade price on the police cruiser, then you thankfully only need a single Crime Scene to spawn. If you’re trying to unlock the Service Carbine for free, though, you’ll need 5 of them to find all the parts. At that point, just buy the weapon from Ammu-Nation or the Gun Van. It’s not worth the headache, trust me.

Even though finding a Crime Scene unlocks the trade price for the Stanier LE Cruiser, you still need to unlock the car before you can purchase it. That means you need to scope out the Mission Row Police Station as a part of the Gangbanger Robbery, one of the new Salvage Yard missions added in the Chop Shop update. It’s a quick mission that just involves taking some pictures. Once that’s out of the way, you can finally buy the police cruiser in GTA Online!

How to Fix Discord Crashed Unexpectedly Error https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/how-to-fix-discord-crashed-unexpectedly-error/ Thu, 14 Dec 2023 18:06:00 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=974681 It feels like there’s always something going wrong with Discord. No matter how stable your connection is, it’s easy to run into crashes, audio issues, and stream lag. Thankfully, there are some easy fixes to get things back to normal.

After the most recent Discord update, some users are encountering a nasty bug where the program crashes on startup. The error doesn’t provide much information either, only stating that “Discord crashed unexpectedly.” It’s affecting all versions of Discord across mobile and desktop, too. Here’s what you can do to fix it.

How to Fix “Discord Crashed Unexpectedly” Error

The first thing you should do when Discord is encountering issues is check the official Discord Status website. If there’s an outage, it’ll be reflected there. Plus, you’ll be able to see a history of Discord’s uptime over the past 90 days so you can know if Discord has been having problems lately or if this is a one-time thing. If the issue is on Discord’s side, then there’s not much you can do.

Related: How to Stream Xbox Games on Discord

If Discord is fully operational and there isn’t an outage, then that means the issue is on your side and you can try a few things to remedy the problem. If you’re on desktop, then some users have reported that deleting certain files will make Discord boot up normally. Deleting the Cache and Local Storage folders from “C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\discord” on Windows should make Discord start working again if you’re encountering startup crashes.

If that doesn’t work, then a full reboot of your PC or mobile device should help. Turning something on and off again is the oldest trick in the book, but it works way more often than you’d think. If Discord still isn’t working after you’ve restarted your device and deleted the problematic files described above, then you can reach out to Discord support as a last resort.

In most cases, Discord’s servers will be at fault when it comes to crashing and errors so there’s not much you can do if Discord isn’t working for you and your friends. Thankfully, outages are usually short so it shouldn’t take too long for everything to become operational again once issues arise.

GTA Online Salvage Yard Money Making Guide https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/gta-online-salvage-yard-money-making-guide/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/gta-online-salvage-yard-money-making-guide/#respond Wed, 13 Dec 2023 21:29:07 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=974415 The Salvage Yard is GTA Online’s newest business. Added in the Chop Shop update, this business lets you break down stolen cars for parts to earn passive income. It may not seem as exciting as selling drugs or running the Los Santos nightlife scene, but the Salvage Yard is a solid way to earn some extra cash in GTA Online.

To get started with the GTA Online Chop Shop storyline and become the owner of your very own Salvage Yard, wait until you get a call from Yusuf Amir. After he explains his business proposition, you’ll be able to buy a Salvage Yard from Maze Bank Foreclosures as you would any other business. The salvage business seems complicated at first with high-stakes vehicle heists mixed in, but you’ll quickly get the hang of things.

Should You Buy a Salvage Yard to Make Money in GTA Online?

GTA-Online-Salvage-Yard

A Salvage Yard is a huge investment with even the cheapest properties approaching the $2,000,000 mark, and if you want a good location, you’ll need to pay upwards of $2,500,000. The Salvage Yard won’t make as much money as the most successful Acid Labs or Nightclubs, so newer players should prioritize those businesses first.

Salvage Yards are for seasoned career criminals who want yet another revenue stream to operate in the background while they focus on bigger jobs like heists. They’re a slow burn and you won’t see a return on your investment for some time, so keep that in mind. There are more lucrative business opportunities throughout Los Santos, but you can still make a ton of money with a Salvage Yard if you put in the time and effort.

Best Salvage Yard Upgrades for Profit

When you purchase a Salvage Yard, you can fit it with various upgrades to raise the profit ceiling and make the business much more effective. Some are more useful than others, so make sure you choose the right ones if money is tight. Upgrading your Salvage Yard can easily add millions on top of the already steep initial asking price.

To maximize your money, you should buy the Tow Truck and Staff first. The Tow Truck will let you take on unique Tow Truck Service missions where you bring vehicles back to your Salvage Yard so you can scrap them for parts. This will keep your Salvage Yard constantly up and running with a steady influx of new vehicles, making the meter fill up that much faster.

Even if you have a steady stockpile of salvage, you won’t make any money if you can’t sell it. Hiring Staff will let you break down salvage faster, letting you sell more often. More sales equals more money, so this is a no-brainer even with its hefty price tag.

How to Make Money With a GTA Online Salvage Yard

Vehicles are the main source of income with a Salvage Yard. You can either sell them whole or break them down and salvage their parts. The best choice depends on the type of car and how much effort you want to put in.

Expensive cars can be obtained by completing Salvage Yard Robberies, which are the main missions of the Chop Shop update. Accessed from the computer in your Salvage Yard, these missions are like mini heists that end with you stealing a super expensive car. Target cars change weekly, so be sure to check back often to see what’s new.

If you have the Tow Truck upgrade for your Salvage Yard, you can also get cars by completing Tow Truck Service missions. These cars won’t be as expensive as the targets of the Salvage Yard Robberies, but they won’t take nearly as much time to collect.

Should You Sell or Salvage for Parts?

GTA-Online-Salvage-Yard-Heists
Image: Attack of the Fanboy

Once you have a car in your possession, you can choose to either sell it or salvage it. Selling a vehicle can net you more money, but you’ll have to manually drive it to a designated drop-off location and any damage the car takes along the way will reduce its value. Even the slightest scratch can knock thousands off of a vehicle’s value, so be careful.

If you’d rather salvage a vehicle for parts, then your Salvage Yard staff will take over the operation and you won’t have to do anything else. After some time, you’ll get paid. This process happens in the background, so feel free to do other missions or activities while you wait.

For nicer cars like the Turismo Omaggio, the sell price will usually be higher than the salvage price as long as you can drive it to the drop-off location without a scratch. The prices will vary for different vehicle types, so weigh your options carefully and choose whichever makes you the most amount of money for the least amount of effort.

It’s a minor feature of the Chop Shop update, but the new driving physics are a blast to use.

Drift Tuning is only available with specific cars for now so your favorite GTA Online vehicles might not be compatible with it, but there’s a decent spread of cars to choose from. If you want to test them out then you can queue up for one of the game’s new Drift Races, but if you want to use the new drifting physics with a personal vehicle in free roam, you’re going to have to pay for your installation.

How to Drift in GTA Online

To start drifting in GTA Online, you need to install Drift Tuning on your vehicle of choice. You can buy the Drift Tuning upgrade at Hao’s Special Works shop at the LS Car Meet. If you haven’t been, you can find it in the southeastern portion of Los Santos just north of the docks.

To access Hao’s shop and any of the other services offered at the LS Car Meet, you’ll need a membership. Most players already have an LS Car Meet membership, but if you haven’t signed up yet, it costs $50,000.

Once you’ve become an LS Car Meet member and own an eligible car, you can purchase the Drift Tuning upgrade from Hao for $200,000. Be warned — this will remove all performance upgrades applied to your car. You can reapply them by removing the Drift Tuning upgrade for $50,000, but you can’t use them simultaneously. Cosmetics like spoilers and liveries can still be applied while Drift Tuning is equipped, however.

There are 8 cars eligible for Drift Tuning in Grand Theft Auto Online. In addition to the new Fathom FR36 added in the Chop Shop update, 7 existing cars can also have Drift Tuning installed at Hao’s Special Works.

CarPrice
Fathom FR36$1,610,000
Declasse Drift Yosemite$1,308,000
Declasse Drift Tampa$995,000
Annis Remus$1,370,000
Karin Futo GTX$1,590,000
Annis Euros$1,800,000
Dinja Jester RR$1,970,000
Annis ZR350$1,615,000

More drifting cars will likely be added to GTA Online in future updates, but as it stands, these are the only available ones. They’re thankfully not as expensive as some of GTA Online’s supercars and other high-tech vehicles though, so you should be able to buy a few of them if you don’t own them already.

All Dune Trial of Power Challenges and Rewards in Modern Warfare 3 https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/all-dune-trial-of-power-challenges-and-rewards-in-modern-warfare-3/ Wed, 13 Dec 2023 20:09:24 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=974364 Call of Duty has been killing it with its collaborations over the last year and a new Dune-themed crossover is the latest of the bunch. In addition to paid cosmetics, there’s a limited-time event with free rewards.

The Trial of Power event follows a similar structure to previous Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone events. It’s only live for a week and you can progress through the reward track by earning XP in any game mode. You can earn bonus XP by equipping specific Operators, too, in this case Paul Atreides.

Call of Duty Dune Event Schedule

The Trial of Power Dune crossover event will last for one week, beginning on Wednesday, December 13, and ending on Wednesday, December 20. The free rewards will only be available during this one week, but the premium bundles featuring characters like Paul Atreides and Feyd-Rautha will remain in the COD store for longer and potentially rotate back into the shop in the future.

The main reward of the event is a free universal camo pattern called Sand & Spice. It applies a brown, dusty look to your weapons. While it may not stand out among some of MW3 and Warzone’s more exciting camo patterns, it’s a good match with the new Dune skins that are available for purchase in the shop.

There are other free rewards you’ll earn along the way, too, like weapon charms and XP tokens. You’ll unlock new rewards after reaching XP milestones. If you purchase and equip the Paul Atreides Operator, you’ll get 1000 bonus XP per match to make the process much faster.

RewardXP Requirement
Paul Atreides Large Decal10,000 XP
Double XP Token21,600 XP
Feyd-Rautha Large Decal35,000 XP
Double Weapon XP Token50,700 XP

May Thy Knife Chip and Shatter Calling Card142,400 XP
Double Battle Pass XP Token175,200 XP

Again, these rewards are only available during the Trial of Power event period so make sure to claim them while you still can. It’s unclear if the Sand & Spice camo pattern will be obtainable via a different method after the event ends, so just play a few matches of multiplayer, Warzone, or Zombies and unlock it sometime this week just to be safe.

All Fortnite Chapter 5 Boss Locations https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/fortnite-chapter-5-boss-locations/ Wed, 13 Dec 2023 17:13:11 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=971139 Fortnite has a new set of items called Society Medallions added in Chapter 5 Season 1, and these special items are only dropped by powerful boss enemies found across the map. This guide will show you where to find every Fortnite boss and explain what their Society Medallions do.

Society Medallions are a major new mechanic in Fortnite Chapter 5. Boss enemies will still drop their usual loot like shields and weapons, but each of them now carries a Society Medallion that can be kept in your inventory for passive bonuses during a match. They’re highly sought after and limited in number, so only a handful of players can have them at any given time.

All Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 Boss Locations

There are 5 boss characters on the island in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1:

  • Oscar
  • Nisha
  • Montague
  • Valeria
  • Peter Griffin

As per usual, these bosses patrol various POIs throughout the map and will fight back once engaged. Their loot can only be obtained by one player, so be wary of other squads looking to steal your kill if you’re planning on fighting one of them. After defeating Fortnite Chapter 5 bosses, you will have the chance to claim a Society Medallion and Boss Weapons (Mythic).

What Are Society Medallions Used for in Fortnite?

Image: Epic Games

Society Medallions are powerful healing items that can easily turn the tide of a Fortnite match. If you keep one in your inventory, you will slowly regenerate your shield over time. The more of them that you carry with you, the faster your shield will regenerate.

Essentially, Society Medallions grant you a form of passive healing and health regeneration. With them equipped, you won’t have to worry about drinking shield potions as often and can play much more aggressively. Remember that each boss character only drops one Society Medallion per match, so players will be fighting hard for them at the beginning of a round.

As the player count thins and the match approaches its end, Society Medallions will be much easier to find as people get eliminated and drop them. This will make the final circles of a Fortnite match much more intense, basically guaranteeing that a handful of final survivors have regenerating shields. Hopefully, this will discourage camping and force players to make more aggressive plays.

All Boss Weapons in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1

Since there are five bosses in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1, players can expect to find five Boss Weapons. These weapons, also known as Mythic Weapons, are incredibly powerful, usually decked out in attachments and mods. Below, you will find the names of all Boss Weapons in Fortnite Chapter 5 and the boss you must defeat to claim it.

  • Peter Griffin’s Hammer Pump Shotgun
  • Oscar’s Frenzy Auto Shotgun
  • Valeria Hyper SMG
  • Nisha’s Striker AR
  • Montague’s Enforcer AR

After defeating the boss wielding the powerful Mythic Weapon, they will usually drop it for you to pick it up. Remember, you must first find the bosses at the locations mentioned earlier to find these weapons, as there is no other way to claim them unless you kill another player who is wielding the boss weapon.

Fortnite Chapter 5 brings a bunch of new features to the game in addition to Society Medallions and Boss Weapons, so there’s a ton for Fortnite fans to look forward to. The Chapter 5 Season 1 Battle Pass includes a suite of original characters, plus awesome collaborations like Solid Snake and Peter Griffin. There’s also a huge Lego game mode recently added to the game, and you can get a free Lego Fortnite skin.

Best Salvage Yard Locations and Upgrades in GTA Online https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/best-salvage-yard-locations-and-upgrades-in-gta-online/ Wed, 13 Dec 2023 01:16:19 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=974060 Salvage Yards are an all-new business in GTA Online added with the Chop Shop update. You can boost cars and break them down for parts once you’ve bought one, making them perfect sources of passive income.

As always, there are multiple properties to choose from if you’re shopping for a Salvage Yard. The cheapest ones are all the way at the northern edge of the map in Sandy Shores, but is it really worth saving a buck if you have to go so far out of your way to do business? If you’re looking to buy a Salvage Yard in GTA Online, these are the best ones to pick.

Best GTA Online Salvage Yard Location

GTA-Online-Police-Car
Image: Rockstar Games

Since you’ll be visiting your Salvage Yard quite often to deliver cars and prepare for missions, you should ignore the two properties for sale on the northern side of the map even though they’re the cheapest. Trust me, it’s worth saving up so you don’t have to leave Los Santos for work.

Related: This Leaked GTA 6 Map is Probably Real Based on Trailer Gameplay

The absolute best Salvage Yard to buy is the one in Strawberry. It’s dead-center in the middle of the city, granting you easy access to mission objectives and reducing the amount of time you’ll spend driving during Chop Shop content. The property in Murrieta Heights is another great choice, but at only $100,000 cheaper than the Strawberry property, you won’t be saving that much money in the long run.

Under no circumstances should you purchase the Salvage Yard in La Puerta. It’s located right on top of a potential Gang Attack spawn, so you have a chance of being ambushed by enemies whenever you visit. Even if you try to ignore them, your Salvage Yard will be inaccessible while the Gang Attack is active. Though it’s the most expensive Salvage Yard, it’s not anywhere close to being the best.

Which Upgrades Should You Buy for the Salvage Yard?

GTA-Online-Chop-Shop-Update
Image: Rockstar Games

If you have cash to burn, there are multiple upgrades you can buy for your Salvage Yard. For $75,000, you can add a colored tint to the building’s interior. The other upgrades are much more expensive, but they have tangible gameplay benefits.

Trade Rates

Trade Rates stand head and shoulders above the rest of the upgrades as the definitive best. Priced at $450,000, if you’re going to get any upgrade for your Salvage Yard, it should be this one. After purchasing it, you’ll receive a permanent discount on all Mors Mutual insurance claims and Los Santos Customs vehicle repairs. Car repair costs and insurance prices add up fast in GTA Online, so a discount in exchange for a one-time purchase is worth it.

Related: All GTA Online Armored Truck Spawn Locations

Tow Truck

Priced at $650,000 for a beater and $1,100,000 for a pristine new one, the tow truck adds an additional revenue stream to your Salvage Yard. If you buy it, you can take on Tow Truck Service jobs where you tow designated vehicles back to your Salvage Yard so you can strip them for parts and earn passive income faster. It’s a nice boost to your Salvage Yard’s productivity despite its hefty price tag.

Wall Safe

The Wall Safe is an easily skippable upgrade, especially for $750,000. It lets you store $250,000 in cash in your Salvage Yard. That’s it. It’s a nice flex if you already have millions in your bank account, but frugal players should skip this and focus on other Salvage Yard upgrades.

Staff

Hiring Staff for your Salvage Yard will set you back $625,000. Staff will speed up the money-making process and bring you profits faster than the standard rate. This is one of the cheaper upgrades for your Salvage Yard and it’ll make you a ton of money in the long run. You should buy it.
