Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was the central focus of Nintendo’s E3 presentation last year, were they stated “Everybody is here!” That proved to be the case at that time, but the game is getting more characters through the Fighter Pass, the first of which was Joker a couple months ago. We’ve been waiting to find out who else was coming and Nintendo started off their E3 Nintendo Direct with that information.
With a beautiful CGI trailer, we see Link fighting off the evil versions of Marth and Meta Knight, before he is saved by the Hero from Dragon Quest. While leaks specifically stated we would be getting Erdrick, the one that saves him is surprisingly the Hero from Dragon Quest 11 at first.
However, the trailer then quickly shows that he isn’t alone, with him having three other skins from the series, including Erdrick from Dragon Quest 3 and the version from Dragon Quest 8 as well.
The characters look great, with the usage of an actual RPG like meter to select magic attacks and such too. They also come with a Final Smash similar to Mega Man’s that brings together the protagonists from throughout the series together.
The Hero from Dragon Quest will be coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate sometime this summer.
